Christmas 41 and 42

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world...hugs.

Mother Nature conspires against us! I was due to meet with a lovely Blogger at Attenborough Nature Reserve yesterday morning for coffee and the rain was coming down by the bucketload and it was very windy so we postponed, this morning it is fine and dry, albeit a tad grey. Oh well Sally, let us hope it is kinder in the Spring!
At least I got three cards made instead LOL.

Speaking of cards, the two I have lined up to share today were very awkward to photograph due to them consisting of mainly silver mirri card, so I had to do them at awkward angles cuz you can see me in them nearly as clear as a mirror, that's my red dressing gown and hand on the left!

Whilst looking for something else, I came across this Crafts Too embossing folder and I just happened to have some silver mirri card on my worktable for the card below, so I had to try it and I was surprised how clearly it embossed without taking the surface off.
I layered it onto black card from my scrap box then onto the basecard which was A4 folded and cut to 7x5.
It is so long since I discarded the sentiment stamp packaging that I can't remember where it was from!

Basecard is same as above but cut to fit into 6x6 envelope.
Own teardrop tress cut on my old Cricut from MME glittery card.
Own stitched square also cut on the same old Cricut and layered onto pewter textured card from PDA.
Stars cut with Lea'bilities dies.
Both are very simple cards, still catching up with those filched by my Grand-daughter :o)

Commissioned leaving baby card

Good morning everyone, I do hope that all is well in your world...hugs.

A work colleague asked me to make this, and just a few days before I was in The Range and had bought some embossing folders including the one used here, I must have been psychic LOL.

I used my usual white linencard from The Range, folded and cut to fit 6x6 envelope.
Pearlised blue card embossed with on of my 4 new Darice folders.
Marianne pram and pin cut from same blue card.
Gingham paper printed from Docrafts Digital Designer.
Sentiment was computer generated.
Sorry I forgot to take pics of the inside.
I am happy to report that my colleague was delighted with it :o)

Christmas 39 and 40

Good morning Bloggers, I hope all is well in your world...hugs

I have been printing/stamping/colouring etc to catch up with the cards filched by my lovely Grand-daughter, managed to get several toppers made and I have enough bits and pieces on the go to make about 16 cards. My worktable is looking like a production line at the moment LOL.

I have two similar, but not the same, cards today, both very simple to make!

Both basecards are my usual white linencard from The Range, folded and cut to 7x5.
Both cards have a mirri backing layer, one blue one green.
I used two different Marianne Cut n Emboss folders on the pearlised white panels.
Blue one has a Lea'bilities diecut from white glittercard scrap, green one has a Marianne sleigh diecut, also from white glittercard scrap.
The little star on each card is a Lea'bilities diecut.
As I said earlier, very simple :o)

Christmas 38

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all well, or at least as well as you can be...hugs
Don't forget to put your clocks back before you go to bed tonight :o)

Since grand-daughter Sian filched 21 Christmas cards from my box for her church fund raising in York, and I hadn't made enough to start with, I have some serious catching up to do! This is 38 down, so that's another 30 required, plus the replacements. I think I am going backwards LOL.

So, without further ado, here is my card for today, a very simple one.

Basecard is my usual white linencard from The Range, folded and cut to fit 6x6 envelope.
Green holograph card from stash, sorry I can't rmember where I got it from originally.
MME glittery striped card, this is the negative from cutting my own trees with my ancient Cricut.
Glitter stars cut with Lea'bilities dies from scraps.
I did warn you it was simple :o)

Oooooooops! It's that daisy again

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world and the rain has gone, and boy oh boy did it rain!!! Hugs.

I couldn't resist getting that daisy die out again, I do love it. I have had it for about 6 or 7 years, but after using it a couple of times it lay forgotten and unloved, so now I am making up for it! I also have an A4 ream sized box bursting at the seams with pearlised card in several colours which I have bought over a period of years and keep forgetting about, so I thought it was time I resurrected them too LOL.

Basecard is my usual white linencard from The Range, folded and cut to fit in a 6x6 envelope.
Layered panel is a dark blue/grey pearlised card.
Sizzix Bigs Daisy cut from a silver grey pearlised card, as are the leaves.
All pearlised card from PDA.
Plain green card is from the scrap box.
All foliage cut with Memory Box dies.
The circles are the centres from the Daisy.
Large brad from stash.
This pic doesn't really do justice cuz the pearlised card has a wonderful sheen to it :o)

Reflections

Good morning Bloggers, I hope you are all as well as you can be...hugs

I am loving these cool Autumn temperatures, I feel more alive :o)

My car was very poorly at the weekend, or at least I thought so. Daren't go anywhere on Sunday, daren't start the engine to move it away from the fence so I could open the door to get at the bonnet opening thingy to see why it was spitting oil, copious amounts of it, through the radiator grille,  couldn't reach it from driver's side of the car. Called my "goto for everything car related" Rob Monday morning and ten minutes later he had the bonnet open to find............... My oil filler cap had come off!!!!! Thank goodness it was nothing worse than that, big sigh of relief. I visualise depleting my savings considerably!
At least not being able to go anywhere Sunday meant that my huge buddliea bush had a good pruning, got to finish it off now the brown bin has been emptied!

Have you fallen asleep yet? I had better get my card uploaded :o)

As you can see, a perfect day for reflections.
This is one of my recent photographs taken at Mercia Marina, and I think it would be suitable for male or female.
Basecard is my usual white linencrad from The Range, folded and cut to 7x5.
I printed my photograph onto the same linencard and layered it onto navy blue linencard from stash.
Sentiment stamped with My Creative Time stamp.
Not a lot else I can say except that I didn't want embellies taking the eye away from the photograph :o)

Sizzix daisy and a couple of photographs

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well, if a little nippy, in your world...hugs

I had a wonderful pub lunch yesterday with my cousin. She decided she wasn't ravenous so she ordered a "chicken sandwich and a few fries", I would love to see what they did for someone who was very hungry LOL, see pic below my card for today.

Basecard is my usual white linencard folded and cut to fit 6x6 envelope.
Silver mirri square layered onto card base.
Own design stitched square cut with my old Cricut from black pearlised card.
Sizzix Bigz daisy cut from scrap of white card.
Memory Box Chloe Stem cut from another scrap of white card.
Memory Box foliage cut from scrap of green card.
Computer generated sentiment punched with SU.
Large brad, and all card used is from stash.
When I use black and white with a smidgin of colour it is usually red, but I think it works fairly well with the green :o)

How about this for a "snack"
My cousin couldn't quite manage all the fries LOL.

As I wheeled my trolley out of Morrison's to the car on Thursday afternoon, I couldn't resist taking this pic :o)

Friday workshop card

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world. ..hugs

A quickie this morning cuz I am very late, so here is my card for today!

I can't claim any credit for this one, it was one we made on our Friday night workshop, this time at friend Sandra's so it's her design.
I can't tell you anything much about it as it was all Sandra's tools/materials and I forgot to look at the names! I do remember that we only used part of the lovely stamp which might have been SU but I am not sure.
I love the green on it :o)

Cow Parsley seedhead and some photographs

Good morning everyone, I do hope all is well in your world...hugs

I had a wonderful day at Mercia Marina Sunday and the weather was very kind although fairly cold. I was there for their last Bandstand Busk of the season, and my daughter was singing so that was an added bonus. They have these sessions once a month during the summer and they are great. They put a bucket out for donation and were able to present a cheque for £400 to The Uttoxeter Lions for their Prostrate Cancer Screening programme.

On to my card for today.

I took this photograph at Attenborough Nature Reserve a about month ago and yes, the sky really was that colourless at the time. If you look closely you can even see a few seed falling!
Matted onto a scrap of brown paper from the bits box.
Basecard is my usual white linencard from The Range, folded and cut to 7x5, then stamped with Penny Black Queen Anne's Lace which I thought morrored my photograph very well.
Sentiment stamped with Woodware.
Flatbacked pearls coloured with Copic marker pen.

Here's a photograph or three from Sunday Afternoon. The sun was very strong and from the wrong angle so these are the best I could do!

A few of the musicians, including my daughter Susan ( in the middle), had a jam session at the end of the day. Here they are singing Mustang Sally.

Moore and Moore Beer, the Bandstand Busk event organisers

Susan accompanied by John Beer playing the bones.
If you love live music from local bands/soloists, checkout Mercia Marina's FB page watch out for the Bandstand Busks next year, they are great fun :o)

8x8 commissioned 50th birthday

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all as well as you can be...hugs

Glad to know the forecast is for dry tomorrow, I am off to Mercia Marina to see my daughter and her partner singing in the last Bandstand Busk of the season!

I was asked by a work friend to make a large card for a fisherman, and it had to have bubbles. I think the bubbles were to represent booze as well as water LOL. Luckily I had some of my old photographs which I had taken some years ago!

Basecard is 8x8 Papermania blank.
Own photograph taken on the Erewash Canal at Long Eaton around 6 years ago.
Framed by my very good friend PatEssex (Docrafts).
Iprinted it onto my usual linencard from The Range.
"Bubble" words printed onto same card in MS Word, then cut with Die-namics stitched circle dies.
Fish stamped with SeeD's stamp for a very old SeeD's set with Memento London Fog.
Glossy Accents bubbles.
The inside is too personal so I am not showing it :o)

Christmas 35 - 37 using positives and negatives

After waking up to a couple of very wet and windy mornings, the sun is back and it looksnice and calm out there :o)

Christmas is rapidly approaching,  so here is a set of appropriate cards, for the first time in several years I am behind with them!

All basecards are my usual white linecard, folded and cut to fit into a 6x6 envelope.
All card used is from my stash.
All my own teardrop trees cut on my old Cricut. The cards on the second one cut from the mat on the first.
My own stitched square.
Pearls and card candi from stash.
Unkown stamps used for sentiments, the bottom one being cut with Die-namics stitched circle die.
That's 37 down, a similar amount to go!  :o)

Christmas 34

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world...hugs

I got soaked coming out of work just before 10 o'clock last night, but the temperature was still 15C. The rain came heavier later but at least it has stopped now!

Back to Christmas for my offering today, I can't believe how close it is now and I am nowhere near ready, I have usually just about finished my cards by this time of the year and started on my cousin's 4o or so!

Basecard is my usual white linencard, folded and cut to just under 6x6.
My own stitched square, cut on my old Cricut from red linencard, then layered onto gold mirri card, as is the (unkown) stamped sentiment but that was cut with Die-namics round stitched dies.
Marianne Poinsettia cut from plain red/green card and foliage punched with McGill and Leone Em punches.
A smidgin of Glamour Dust to finish.
Methinks I had better get crackin' and get the rest made :o)

Autumn at Elvaston Castle

Good morning Bloggers, I hope you are all well and warm...hugs
It is hazy sunshine here at the moment, can't make up it's mind!

As previously said, I went for a hobble at Elvaston Castle on Friday, these are just a few of the 54 photographs I took :o)

'Twas very difficult to get a decent photograph of the Golden Gates because of the strong sunlight!

This monkey puzzle tree trunk reminded me of an elephant's foot :o)

I have never seen yellow berries on holly before, there were some love orange ones too but couldn't get a clear shot of the. The berries were in various stages of ripeness.

I hope you enjoyed this little stroll arond one of my favourite places :o)

All in blue

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world...hugs

It sounds like our Indian Summer is about to end, according to the weather forecast. I have been enjoying it because it was beautifully sunny without the heat!
It was so lovely yesterday after lunch so I went to Elvaston Castle, my local country park. I haven't downloaded my photographs yet but if any of them are good enough to show then you may see a few here tomorrow.

On to my card for today, I have used that tattered flower again, I love it so I don't know why I neglected it for so long!

Basecard is my usual white linencard from The Range, folded and cut to just under 6x6.
My own stitched square, cut with my old Cricut, layered onto beautiful blue holographic card.
Tim Holtz/Sizzix Bigs diecut flower, sponged with gilding wax.
Memory Box diecut foliage.
All card used and large brad from my stash.
I will add sentiment when I know who I am giving it to, and maybe gems.
I really must use this flower more often :o)

Juvenile starling

Good morning Bloggers, I hope you are all well or at least improving...hugs

I cannot believe it's Thursday again already, have they popped another one into the week while my back was turned?

For my card today, I used one of my first  photographs taken when I first bought my new camera back in June. I took this one through my then dirty kitchen window and was so chuffed with the detail on the birds feathers. This was the one that convinced me I had bought the right camera :o)

Anyhow, on to my card!

I didn't want any embellishments taking the eye away from this little birdie, hence the very CAS card.
Basecard is my usual white linencard, folded and cut to 7x5.
I feathered the photograph in PSP7 and printed it onto the same white card,  then cut it with Spellbinders pierced oval die.
Mat cut with Spellbinders pierced rectangle  die.
Topper raised with sticky foam strips.
I think I could use this for almost any occasion and for male or female :o)
