Vellum flowers

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world...hugs

My card today was inspired by two of my Docrafts friends Miella and June. In my early days of crafting I used flower punches and stamps a lot, and vellum. I have so enjoyed travelling back in time LOL. Miella and June have been using some beautiful flower stamps which I just had to buy and this card is the result!

The flower stamps are from Honey Doo Crafts, the leaves at the top are from Elizabeth Craft Designs and the one at the bottom are from Crealie Craft designs.
I stamped the flowers onto very pale pink vellum with Brilliance Pearlescent Lavender, then heat embossed with SU White Pearl translucent powder, then handcut them.
In my stash, I found a small piece of graduated green vellum which I used for the leaves.
I cut ther ovals using Spellbinders pierced oval dies.
Little Martha Stewart flutterby covers a nasty ink blot, otherwise that corner would have been blank LOL.
Sentiment stamped with ?
Clear gems colours with Copic marker pen.
White card is my usual linencard and the card size is 7x5.
I have really enjoyed my trip back to my early crafting days and will be making
some more :o)

Bits and pieces

Good morning Bloggers, I hope all is well in your world...hugs
Just like yesterday the sun was shining at 6am and now, nearly an hour later, it is overcast and dismal!

My offering for today is a pair of mini thank you cards made from offcuts and my bits boxes!

The basecards are offcuts from other cards and mesaure just 2.5" x 3.5"
I stamped and coloured the coneflower image at a friend's house some years ago and then forgot all about it until I was looking for something else, as you do LOL.
I cut it, and a pink mat using a Spellbinders die with a piece of card from my scrap box.
I made the Tim Holtz daisy with vellum several months ago, and added a
gem brad from stash.
The leaves were chalked using the negative from a Memory Box leaf die as a stencil.
Sentiments stamped with Stamps and Smiles :o)

Been playing with SCAL again

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world...hugs.

The rain has gone and the sky is blue at the moment, not sure how long it will last!

It's the penultimate day of the Tour de France and I will have to go to work before it finishes BooHoo! I hope Froomey keeps a hold on the Yellow Jersey. At least I will be able to watch the last day tomorrow :o)

A few weeks ago on Docrafts gallery, I spotted a card which was simply the word DAD, so I decided to have a go at creating a word card myself in SCAL and here is the prototype. It is a bit off kilter but I have corrected my cutting file ready for when I have a baby card to make, in fact I may make one for my hospital box!

I used the font Balloon XBd BT and cut it on my ancient Cricut.
The card I sued is Bazzill Bling which has been in my stash for years, I 'found' it when looking for something else, as you do :o)

Peace and Tranquility...

...at Pioneer Meadows.

I don't usually upload on Fridays but I wanted to share one of my little bits of heaven with you all and send you some peace and tranquility...hugs

Taken at Pioneer Meadows, Kirk Hallam. My daughter and her partner are lucky enough to have this small (but perfectly formed)  nature reserve (an SSSI reserve) just over the fence at the bottom of
their garden :o)

The last of my animal sunset cards

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world, and if it isn't I hope it soon will be...hugs

We have wall to wall blue skies here at the moment, but it is deliciously chilly!

I have made 8 of these animal sunset cards and these are the last two to share with you. I have had enormous pleasure making them :o)

All my own photographs and artwork of course.
All of them are photographs taken some years ago, the horse being one of my favourites.
Both basecards are white linencard folded and cut to nearly 6x6.
Artwork printed onto Kodak Everyday photopaper, and matted with Papermania black textured card.
Group of horses cut from the same black card with my Cricut, using the
Animal Kingdom cart.
Foliage cut with Memory Box die.
Sentiment printed in MS Word and punched with SU punch.
I really do not want to part with them :o)

New Grandparents

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world, wherever that may be...hugs

The morning here started off with brilliant sunshine, but it is clouding over now!

A work colleague and her hubby recently became first time Grandparents and today I am sharing the card I made for them.

Basecard is white linencard folded and cut to nearly 6x6.
Pearlised panel embossed with Embossalicious.
Sentiment is computer generated and cut with Spellbinders dies, pink card is from one of
my scrapboxes.
Ebelliies cut on my old Cricut.
Finished off with a scrap of ribbon.
Everything used is from my stash :o)

Been playing yet again.....

.....I do love a good playabout LOL.

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world. Hugs for everyone who needs or wants them!

My apologies for not blogging yesterday, I had to go for my annual eye photograph session. The good news is that I don't need new glasses this year, and that my cataract has not progressed at all in a whole year, and even better, my eyes are not showing any signs of high blood pressure this year :o)

By the time I got home I made the mistake of turning the TV on to see how Chris Froome was doing in the Tour de France and that was it, I was glued there until the end of the stage and Froome was still in possesion of the Yellow Jersey,  go Froome go Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

I will do my best to catch up!

In the meantime, what did I come on here to do???
Oh yes, of course, I have a card to show you LOL.

Among other things while I was playing with SCAL, I created this cloudbank and cut it out with my old Cricut, which meant I just had to make a card using it LOL.
Base card is white linencard folded and cut to nearly 6x6.
Image stamped with SU, then coloured with Caran D'Ache watercolour pencils and Copic markers. Although you can't see it here, the sky and the sand really are lightly coloured.
I attached the image to the basecard, then framed it with the offcut from a previous card to which I had stuck my cloudbank on the underside first.
I used a pale grey Copic pen to add a bit of definition to the clouds.
Sentiment will be added if and when required.
Not the best I've ever made but I did enjoy the playing :o)

A couple more of my merged sunsets

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all as well as you can be...hugs

I have two more sunset cards to share with you today, only two more to go LOL.

The sunset and owl photographs were taken by me some years ago, but the giraffes photograph was taken by my good friend PatEssex (Docrafts).
Merged in the same way as my previous ones and printed onto Kodak Everyday photocard 160gsm (ideal for decoupage).
Basecard is my usual white linencard, folded and cut to just under 6x6.
Artwork cropped to size and layered onto black mat.
Owl and giraffe silhouettes cut with the Cricut using Animal Kingdom cart and Papermania black textured card.
I have really enjoyed making this set :o)

Out of my comfort zone

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world...hugs

Much as I love to see everyone's cute cards, they are not my favourite ones to make, hence my title for today's offering, so without more ado, here it is!

I decided on a round card which I cut with Spellbinders scalloped dies.
It is approx 5" which is smaller than my norm.
LOTV image coloured with Copics, then cut with Die-namics round stitched die.
A very simple card :o)

New home cards.....

.....for two of my very good friends Viv and Pam, who recently moved into bungalows, one at the seaside and one in beautiful North Derbyshire.

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world...hugs.

I cannot believe how quickly my week off work is going and I haven't made many cards, but I have been playng with SCAL. Had my car serviced Monday morning so I could have a fresh start for the week! I've also been out a couple of time with my new camera, which I am really loving, and even pulled in a delicious pub lunch with my cousin yesterday. Oh, and last but not least, I visited The Range and Hobbycraft, just for essentials like the Xcut 13" guillotine which I use in my craftroom, and my old but still good 12" Xcut I use downstairs LOL!

Onto my cards!

I took this photograph of one of my daughter's ornaments many years ago and it finally came in handy LOL. I merged it with country garden photograph I took at Bonsall, near Matlock Bath, also many years ago.
Base cards are both white linencard from The Range, folded and cut to 7x5 and just
 under 6x6.
Artwork printed onto the same card and the first one cut with Die-namics plain rectangle die and the second with Spellbinders square pierced die.
Foliage cut with Memory Box dies.
White pearls coloured with Copic markers :o)

Commissioned sunflower card

Good morning all,  I hope you are all well or getting there...hugs
I'm in a tearing hurry this morning so will have to be brief!
I will have to pop back later to catch up on your blogs.

I was asked for 50th birthday card but must not put 50 on it! (rubbing salt into the wound perhaps) and it had to have this one of my sunflower photographs on it.
A4 ivory linencard folded and cut to 7x5.
Photograph and text printed onto same card, then cut with Spellbinders oval die, then attached with sticky foam pads to raise it.
White stickyback pearls coloured with Copic pen.
That's really all there is to say about it, although I am happy to report that both customer and recipient were very pleased with it, thank goodness :o)

A couple more sunsets

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world...hugs

As you all probably know by now, I love taking photographs, lots of them, and I love playing with them in PSP. In fact I often play and then forget to use them LOL.

I played with some of my sunset photographs recently and you have already seen two of them. I have made 8 cards altogether using them and you have seen two, and I am now sharing another two.

The difference this time is that the elephant photograph isn't mine, it was taken by my very good friend PatEssex(Docrafts).
The sunsets are mine though, as are the silhouettes and the artwork.
Both basecards began life as A4 sheets of white linencard from The Range, I folded and cut them to 7x5.
I do hope I am not boring you with them :o)

Photographs

Good evening everyone, I hope you are all well and safe after the almighty stormwe had...hugs

I am very late today, although I don't usually post on Mondays and I am usually at work, but I have a whole week off Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
My car went in for service this morning and was returned to me by lunchtime :o)
Anyhow, I digress! I went for a little shuffle round St Chad's Water, Wilne, on Friday afternoon and I was lucky enough to get some shots of damsel flies with my new camera. Oh how I love that camera :o) They are so difficult to take pics of because they dart about like lightening!

These are the best two pics that I managed to get, the rest were very blurry!
What a wonderful colour they are, especially when the sun is shining on them.

This is St Chad's Water, it is a small nature reserve and so peaceful and tranquil :o)

Tracing paper

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world...hugs

Did you get the daddy of all thunderstorms and torrential rain overnight that we had here?
I was laying on top of my bed melting and at 2.30 am the heavens opened and the lightening started then came the rolling thunder, and  a very noisy hour later it all went quiet and felt wonderfully cooler!

Anyhow, why does my title say tracing paper? Well, here is why.

What do my cards have to do with tracing paper?
Well, I was clearing out one of my many bookshelves and came across a pad of (good quality) tracing paper which I had "lost" some time ago. I decided to see if I could print on them and yes, my printer was happy to oblige :o)
The pussy willow photograph I took on a recent trip to Straw's Bridge Ponds, Ilkeston.
The rose photograph I took many years ago, I think at the Family History Society in Derby
( I was a volunteer there for many years).
My very good friend Pat tubed them (took away all of the background) for me, as she did with the photograph of Memphis Belle. Who remembers the film of that name?

I took  photographs of the plane at Duxford Air museum way back on 2008, and Pat tubed it and the flutterby too.
On the other side  is the original Sally B which is the name of the plane which
was used in the film. I made Memphis Belle into a fairy with one of my flutterby photographs.
Have I put you to sleep yet? LOL

Christmas 19.....

..... a card to make you think cool.....

Good morning everyone, I have given up on trying to sleep, it's 5.45am and I have been up more than an hour now. I hope the heat isn't affecting you as badly as it is me! Anything over 20c is way too much for me, and it was 35c when I went to work at teatime yesterday. Thank goodness it is cooling down for the weekend

Anyhow, I digress, so here is my card for today.

I made this one simply to give me a reason to use my new Memory Box die set. Both the fence and  trees die come from the set of 4.
Basecard is my usual white linencard, folded and cut to fit 6x6 envelope.
I then cut and aperture with Spellbinders die. Paper inside the card is from HOTP and I have had it for at least 8 years. I know that because I haven't bought any papers for about that long!
All diecuts are cut from a slightly off white glittercard.
Leaping deer also cut with Memory box die and the tree inside the card punched with Woodware punch. "Icicles" punched with Martha Stewart.
I will add sentiment if and when required :o)
