Cow Parsley seedhead and some photographs

Good morning everyone, I do hope all is well in your world...hugs

I had a wonderful day at Mercia Marina Sunday and the weather was very kind although fairly cold. I was there for their last Bandstand Busk of the season, and my daughter was singing so that was an added bonus. They have these sessions once a month during the summer and they are great. They put a bucket out for donation and were able to present a cheque for £400 to The Uttoxeter Lions for their Prostrate Cancer Screening programme.

On to my card for today.

I took this photograph at Attenborough Nature Reserve a about month ago and yes, the sky really was that colourless at the time. If you look closely you can even see a few seed falling!
Matted onto a scrap of brown paper from the bits box.
Basecard is my usual white linencard from The Range, folded and cut to 7x5, then stamped with Penny Black Queen Anne's Lace which I thought morrored my photograph very well.
Sentiment stamped with Woodware.
Flatbacked pearls coloured with Copic marker pen.

Here's a photograph or three from Sunday Afternoon. The sun was very strong and from the wrong angle so these are the best I could do!

A few of the musicians, including my daughter Susan ( in the middle), had a jam session at the end of the day. Here they are singing Mustang Sally.

Moore and Moore Beer, the Bandstand Busk event organisers

Susan accompanied by John Beer playing the bones.
If you love live music from local bands/soloists, checkout Mercia Marina's FB page watch out for the Bandstand Busks next year, they are great fun :o)

One stamp, two cards

Good morning fellow Bloggers, I hope all is well with you and your families...hugs

It's dull and overcast here in the Derby area, but still quite warm and the evenings seem to be very sticky this week!

I was looking for something in my craftroom, as you do, and came across this 2006 Penny Black stamp which hasn't seen ink for quite a while so I thought it was time to resurrect it. I love it because it is such a happy image :o)

It was very strong sunlight when I took the pic of the second one (last week, not seen the sun since!) so it looks a bit bleached!
Both basecards are my usual white linencard from The Range, folded and cut to just undar 6x6 and 7x5 respectively.
I stamped the image with Memento ink onto 160gsm smooth white card from Staples, coloured with Copics then cut with Spellbinders dies (first card) and Die-namics dies (second card)
Blue card is a pearlised bit from the scrap box. Grey card is Papermania textured card
Both sentiments are cling stamps with no name.
I added a dash of Glamour Dust to the white images but it doesn't show up here!
Tiny stars are wast from a border die.
Both cards intentionally CAS :o)

Just playing with WoW

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well with your and yours...hugs.

What a change in the weather, from Summer one week to absolutely awful yesterday, 'twas more like Winter and although it's bright this morning, it is starting to cloud over!

I love making WoW cards and was just playing with bits and pieces, and here is the card that came out of it, a 7x7 shaped one!

For the basecard, I cut two 8x8 pieces from A4 350 gsm plain white card with Spellbinders Grand Nesties, then scored one  of them 1" in from the side and attached it with DST to the back of the other one.
I then cut a piece slightly smaller from A4 pearlised card and embossed it with Embossalicious (I think) 8x8 cloud folder which I have had for quite a while but never used!
I cut a smaller panel and stamped the sentiment with Penny Black using
Memento London Fog.
Foliage cut with Memory Box from the cloud offcut.
Probably suitable for wedding, anniversary or engagement :o)

Not a photograph in sight!

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all well or getting there...hugs.

Much as I love using my photographs, I decided on a bit of a change with this one. It's been a long time since I made a rocker card and I quite enjoyed making it.
I love brown and cream together, reminds my of a lovely mug of coffee, which I have sitting beside me as I type LOL.

Doesn't seem 5 minutes since I was saying "I can't believe it's nearly April already" and now it's nearly May already!

Oh well, enough spouting on, here is my card for today.

It is 7" round.
Cream card is lovely textured card from my stash, I've had it for aeons so not sure where I got it but it might be PDA. Brown linencard also from stash, no idea where that is from!
I used Spellbinders Grand Nesties for the basecard and mats and the foliage was cut with one of my two new Memory Box dies.
I made the tiny flowers using gold punched bits from my bits box.
Punches used are Woodware and Xcut.
Penny Black sentiment stamped with Versamak and embossed with Stampendous Detail Gold powder.
Tiny white peasrls coloured with Copic marker pen :o)

Yet another bits card

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world...hugs

I didn't manage to get on here at all yesterday so I have some catching up to do! All of a sudden Christmas is nearly upon us EEEEEEEK!

It happens very rarely, but last night I had and extremely rude customer, whatever happened to the spirit of goodwill? Other customers were as shocked as I was!

Thank you so much for all the well wishes, and the tips for my cold sores, several involving perfume and Zovirax, but once they have developed it is too late and they have to run their course. The small one at the side of my nose has finally gone but the other one is much bigger and harder to shift.

Anyhow, here is my card for today and yes, it's another one from the bits boxes, I WILL get to the bottom of them eventually LOL.

The only new thing on this one is the basecard, which is ivory linencard, and that's only new in the sense that I folded and cut it to 7x5 especially, but I have had the card in stash for about 5 years!
Pearlised card from PDA embossed with Tied Together folder.
Flower cut on the Cricut.
Diecut foliage from Cheery Lynn.
Sentiment is, I think, and old one from Penny Black, stamped onto an offcut from one of my earlier aperture cards.
Flatbacked sticky pearls from stash and coloured with Copics :o)

Another bits and pieces card

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world...hugs.  For myself, I don't much like these unseaonable temperatures!
Can you believe that it is December already?
I had a wonderful day on Sunday with my crafting friends, (yes Christine, I did remember Viv's hug) it was our last get together of the year so we did our Secret Santa, and a wonderful day ended with us having dinner at Cosmo's in Derby. What could be more perfect?  :o)
Anyhow, here is my card for today.

Base card is my usual white linendcard from The Range, folded and cut to 7x5. That is the only new thing on this card.
Sentiment stamp is an old one from Penny Black, found it sitting in a box and it hadn't seen ink for some years.
The hexagon shapes were cut at a friend's house years ago, before I bought my own hexagon die set.
Flower was punched with EK Success,  centre punched with  McGill, also years ago.
I am determined to use all the bits from my boxes up, but it could take a long time LOL. I had forgotten how many there are!!!!!

Yet another old stamp

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all well or getting there, hugs.

I am off to my cousin's today to deliver the golfing card shown earlier, and to go for a pub lunch with her :o)

Still on the theme of using old stamps, here is my card for today.

Base card is my usual white linen, folded and cut to 6x6.
I used a scrap of the same card to stamp this cute snow couple from Panny Black, then coloured them with Copics and Sakura Gelly Roll Stardust pens, then cut with Spellbinders and matted onto a scrap of textured silver card. I added a smidgeoun of Glamour Dust for the snow. Star cut with Memory Box die :o)

Sentiment is from and old Woodware set.

Found my tapestry stamps.....

.....when I was looking for something else, as you do LOL. It's at least 5 years since they saw the light of day!
Good morning everyone, I hope you are all well or getting there...hugs. At least there's no frost out there this morning although it is wet, as usual!
As the title says, I found my long neglected Tapestry stamps so though it was about time they saw some ink again, and here is the result!

Here is is, inside and out.
White linencard folded and cut to approx. 6x6.
Aperture cut with Nestie circle.
Stamped with Memento inkpads.Inside panel cut with scalloped Nestie circle then stamped. Sentiment is, I think, Penny Black, but not sure about that!
A very simple one layer card and completely flat for posting :o)

Made at our craft day last Sunday

Good morning Bloggers, I hope all is well in your world, and if not then I hope it soon will be...hugs
Despite all the retail therapy and going out to dinner, I managed to make 8 very simple cards on Sunday. I am only showing 6 because the other two were duplicates of a couple of these. So, without more ado here they are :o)

As you can see, one of them is white. This is Papermania textured card folded and cut to 5x7 then stamped with Memento London Fog. The rest are ivory linen card from the Papermill shop before they all closed, also folded and cut to 5x7. They are all stamped with Memento rich cocoa. The squiggly sentiment is Penny Black and the rest of the stamps are SU from three different sets. They each have just s smidgin' of Glamour dust which doesn't show up very well  on the pics!
They are so easy for making batches of the same card :o)

Christmas in July.

Well I have to do something to try and feel cooler, this heatwave is really taking it out of me!
Good morning everyone, I hope all is as well as it can be in your world...hugs.
Yesterday I was out before 8am, before the heat of the day, having a little hobble round a fairly local lake that I haven't seen before. I keep going out to try my new camera on different settings so I can get used to it :o) After 5pm I went out and found another lake that I had never seen before to do the same. I can't believe there were fairly two local (within about 6 miles) nature reserves that I didn't know were there!
These are Christmas card Nos. 36 and 37 for my own use, but in fact I have also made 52 for orders as well!

Both are white linen card folded and cut to 5x7.
Trees were hand cut from MME Card which I've had for several years.
Sentiment stamp is Penny Black, an old one.
Pearls from stash. Can't make up my mind  whether I prefer it with or without the pearls.
Both are very quick and simple if you want to make batches of the same card :o)

5 in 25 minutes

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all well and not getting wet. It's pouring down here!
I am off out to my cousin's for the day for out monthly chinwagging session with lots of laughter and a pub lunch, and to take Christmas card samples for her to choose from. She loves creams and browns and they have to be very CAS and flat for posting. She has had two of these designs in previous years and asked for more, but I did 3 others as well to give her choices.  She will want 20 of the chosen one.
Anyhow, enough spouting on, here they are.

I have used Paper Mill Shop (yes that's how long I have had it) ivory hammered card because my cousin likes it. They are all A6.
All image stamps are SU apart from the Bethlehem one which is Elzybells.
Sentiments are SU, Penny Black and Stamps and Smiles, and all are stamped with Memento rich cocoa. I added just a sprinkle of gold Glamour Dust to finish :o)
Jackie xx
P.S. It really did take me only 25 minutes to make all 5, from cutting and folding the card to finishing off with Glamour Dust!

Back from the colouring wilderness

Good morning Bloggers, and another gorgeous one it is too. I hope you all had a wonderful Bank Holiday while I was working. How come so many folks do their big weekly food shop on a glorious BH instead of getting out and enjoying the weather for the brief time it's here. Oh well, never mind eh, they must have their reasons and I'm not complaining as it keeps me in a job!
What do I mean by the title? Well, for about 9 months I have not done any colouring, I took an aversion to it for some unknown reason, but I seem to have recovered my enthusiasm at last and this is my first colouring in many months. I was afraid that my copics might have dried up but no, they are still okay, thank goodness :o)

Base card is white linen cut to 8x8. Panel embossed with Embossalicious, this being the third of my three for the price of two folders. Unfortunately you are seeing the debossed side as I used the wrong side, but it still works LOL.
The peony is a digi image and I am sorry to say I cannot remember where I got it. Had it from the days before I sorted them into named files! Coloured with said copics then handcut and attached with foam pads. Sentiment is Penny Black I think.
The panel was then layered onto red Bazzill. I am happy to say that I really enjoyed colouring again and there will be more :o)

Brilliant day and a non Christmas card for a change

Good morning crafters, I do hope that you are safe from the awful flooding. I am sending cyber hugs to those of you who have suffered from all this incessant rain  {{{{{HUGS}}}}}

***************

WARNING, long post so get your cuppa and settle down!

I had a wonderful day with my crafting friends yesterday (7 of us altogether) starting with bacon and cheese paninis and a cuppa as we arrived, then we played with Viv's i-pad so I ended up checking out Amazon and what did I buy? A Kindle Fire which was on offer at £30 off. Well I was never one to turn down a bargain so now I am waiting with bated breath for my new toy to arrive!

Then we all went to Byrkley Park for some retail therapy and as always we spent a fortune on crafting goodies ;o)

Back to our wonderful host Pauline's house where we tucked in to lovely home made apple/cinnamon and cherry scones with clotted cream and fresh strawberries, lemon drizzle cake and goodness knows what else (all of it very naughty)+ the inevitable cuppa.

Then it was time to play after another one of us went onto Amazon to buy the said Kindle Fire!
I did make three cards but I haven't taken pics of them yet, I will put them on later.

For dinner, our lovely hostess had made rumblethump - what was that did I hear? - mashed potato mixed with finely shredded cabbage, onions and cheese and baked in the oven - lots of vegetables and succulent roast gammon, followed by our American friend's home made pumpkin pie. From this morning we have to fast to get the extra lbs off LOL.

Without more ado, here is my card for today, and they don't come much more simple :o)

Whilst looking for something else I found this 12x6 bit of card left over from who know's when. I found the ribbon, which is more aqua than it looks in the picture, so decided to have a play and here is the result.
I folded the card into 6x6 and then stamped the PB Queen Anne's Lace and Stampendous agapanthus cluster onto the card and the geese (sorry I can't remember whose) and the sentiment, all in Memento Ivy. I hope you like it :o)

New Grand M-Bossability folder

Good morning Bloggers, don't know what it's doing outside cuz it's still a bit dark! I hope all is well with everyone :o)
I am off out to lunch later with my friend Jean (a non crafter) so I am looking forward to that, then I go to my daughter's at teatime on Thursday's so my day is mapped out for me.
Oooops! Just opened the curtains and it is looking quite dull out there but at least it is dry!
Anyhow, onto my cards for today. 2 8x8 cards made using my brand new M-Bossability reversible A4 folder and I love it :o)

I was so pleased with my previous card using the Hero Arts woodblock stamps that I decided to try again only bigger this time. I used PB Queen Anne's lace stamp and others that have no names on this time, Memory Box corner die and SU greeting and punch. Ribbon scrap from stash.

For this one I used the other side of my M-Bossablity folder and my own sunflower photograph.
Another ribbon scrap from stash, computer generated sentiment  cut with Nesties :o)

Olympics finish, time to play catchup

Good morning Bloggers, I cannot believe it's a whole week since I was on here. I'm afraid the Olympics got in the way of blogging, I have been glued to it except when I had to drag myself away to go to work!
Wasn't it a magnificent spectacle and our Team GB did us so proud.
I have a couple of cards to show you today, luckily made before the Olympics started LOL.

This one is an 8x8 Papermania Kraftcard base, with SU stamped border and sentiment, and diecuts with Memory Box and Grand Nesties all cut from PDA corrugated card.

White linen card cut and folded to 5x7, Penny Black sentiment and more Memory Box dies used for this one, which is similar to,  but not the same as an earlier one I made :o)

I've been playing.....

.....with the resist technique, at least I think it is LOL.
Hi everyone on this very frosty Saturday morning. Thank goodness I don't go to work until 2pm so hopefully won't have to scrape the car!

I folded linen card then cut with nesties labels 6 to make the basecard.
I used PB Queen Anne's Lace and stamped with Versamark then heat embossed with Papermania Seafoam white.
Next step was to brayer with Big & Juicy Spice inkpad then added the Marianne diecuts which I popped with 1mm foam pads and Bob's yer uncle, couldn't be much more simple :o)
