Been playing again

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world...hugs
Sorry to be a party pooper, but I am not enjoying all this heat, bring back lower temperatures say I.....

I've been playing with some of my sunset photographs from a while ago and my cards for today are the result. I am in the process of making a set of 6, these are the first 2. I realise they may not be to everyone's taste, but I am pleased with them :o)

If I remember correctly, the cat and the elephant are from my very old CorelDraw software (bought about 20 years ago) and I converted them in PSP7 (also bought around 20 years ago) to png then in SCAL so I could cut them out on my very old little Cricut.

I opened my sunset photographs in PSP7, then added the animal images and
shadowed them.
I printed the pics onto Kodak Everyday Picture Paper which is 160 gsm and semigloss.
Black mats are Papermania textured card and the silhouetts are cut from the same card.
Computer generated sentiments cut with SU punches.
I hope you enjoy them as I really enjoyed playing :o)

Pics from my new camera

Good morning everyone,  I hope all is well in your world...hugs

Despite the rainy start to yesterday it dried up later and I was able to get out to Trent Lock to play with my new camera,  a Fujifilm S9900W bridge camera, and oh boy was
I impressed :o)
I took a few pics through my windows on Saturday and then the ones taken at
Trent Lock follow.
Warning! Picture heavy.

Ths first one was taken through my dirty kitchen window and I am so impressed with the detail on the feathers.

This one was taken through my living room window and is of the flower on my Australian false palm.

This one, also taken thorugh my living room window, is the top od a tree in my next door but one's garden, I thought these two might make nice background images.

This is what the day started out like yesterday, but it did clear later, thank goodness!

The heron and the horses were way across the river and I took these photographs with the zoom only halfway. I am really impressed with the detail. Not looking for the content at this stage, just the quality of the main image.
You can see where the heron was in relation to the horses on the first horsey pic. I am so pleased with the feather detail.

I love the reflections in this one taken from just by the side of the lock.
I hope you have enjoyed my little outing, I did very much :o)

Heritage page

Good sunny Saturday morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world...hugs

I went out last night on my usual Friday night session with crafting friends and halfway there the heavens opened and the winscreen wipers could hardly cope!!! Thank goodness it only lasted for half an hour or so!!!!!

Before that, I went and bought myself a new camera! My big Nikon DSLR with the large lens on was getting to heavy for me to carry around, so I chose a Fujifilm bridge camera and what a bargain it was with £100 off. Had I have bought it last week I when I was first looking,  I would have paid that much more!!! I am hoping to get out on Sunday and play :o)

Anyhow, I am waffling so I will get on with it. Here is my offering for today, it is so long since I did a heritage page.

I wanted to keep it simple, I love these photographs of my Paternal Grandparents.
I printed them onto Kodak semigloss photopaper Then cut with Spellbinders dies.
Backing sheet is 12x12 from Sassafrasslass and it has been in my stash for many years. I haven't bought any papers for well more than 5 years!
Of course, I had to use the Memory Box Chloe Stem to fit in with the paper design.
Brown card is pearlised from stash, I think it was from PDA a long time ago. I found a box of cream 120 gsm paper in stash and used it for the journalling, cutting them out with  Die-namics fishtail dies.
I promise you the text is clearer IRL than it is here. I used Vivaldi font :o)

Sentiment designed in SCAL and cut on my ancient Cricut using Balloon font.
Bamboo leaves cut with Memory Box.
 Very simple man card :o)

Commissioned set of flower notecards

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world...hugs

It's a lovely sunny start to the day here in the East Midlands :o)

My cousin asked me to make her a few notecards as she only has one left from the last lot. She loves my flower photographs and CAS, so these are what I made. You have only seen one of these flowers before and that is the first one, a dangly white clematis. All the others I took a couple of weeks ago at at Derby and Byrkly Park garden centres, except for the gerbera ones, which I took at my cousin's house on my previous visit. She always has beautiful flowers in her kitchen window.

I printed them all onto white linencard then folded and cut to 7x5.
I used various fonts for the computer generated sentiments.
Not much else I can say about them :o)

Ruby Anniversary commission

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all well or getting there...hugs

I was food shopping a couple of weeks ago in the supermarket where I work when all of a sudden this loud voice boomed out "Jack, do you still make cards?" "Yes sez I". It was one of my bosses, never one for discretion, there she was near the greetings card aisle LOL. This card is the result, and of course, she wanted it within 48 hours. Still, it's more notice than I sometimes get!

Anyhow, enough waffling on, this is the card

A4 white linecard from The Range, folded and cut to 7x5.
Deep red card is from stash and I have so little of it left I don't like using it LOL.  It is a sort of mirri card but not as shiny, more a dull sheen and it is very classy. I bought it from a shop in Cheshire some years ago and have never seen it anywhere since BooHoo.
Memory Box leaves cut from the same red card.
Flowers punched with Woodware punches.
White pearlised card embossed with Couture Creations Tied Together folder.
Sentiment computer generated and printe using Vivaldi font, then cut with Spellbinders pierced oval die.
White sticky back pearls coloured with Copic marker pen.
And there you have it. I have since heard that the recipients loved it :o)

Pink on Pink

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world...hugs

We are back to a sunny start to the day here near Derby, I hope it isn't as humid as the last two days! I know, some folks are never satisfied, but heat is not kind to me and humidity is even worse!!!

Today I am sharing my 6th and final one colour card, I have enjoyed making them :o)

The colour is a bit in your face, never thought to try seeing if it glows in the dark LOL.
All card is Papermania textured from stash.
Basecard is A4 sheet folded and cut to fit 6x6 envelope.
Panel embossed with Embossalicious 6x6 folder.
Foliage cut with Memory Box dies.
Flowers punched with Woodware punch from scraps of pearlised paper.
White pearls coloured with Copic pen.
Sentiment stamped with Stamps and Smiles.
Really very quick and simple to make :o)

Commissioned set of flower cards

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world...hugs. Just had a text message to say my friend is about to become a first time Granny, her daughter has been in labour for 19 hours...ouch!

Peculiar morning out there, very still, very hazy, but dry so we will have to wait and see what develops!

A friend asked me to make her some flower cards with mixed sentiments. She loves my photographs printed straight onto the card and no fuss, so these are what a came up with. I made several more than she wanted so she had choices, and three of them have her own flowers on. Glad to say that she was very happy with them :o)

Make a cuppa and relax, cuz this is picture heavy!

I don't think they need much explanation!
All cards are white linencard from The Range, printed with my feathered photographs and various sentiments before being folded and cut to 7x5.
Iris, geranium and primrose are her own flowers. The rest of them I took  at Derby Garden Centre, Little Eaton, where I had taken her for cake and a cuppa. Sadly, she is going blind so can no longer drive herself!
Can't get much simpler :o)

Big and bold

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all as well as you can be, if a little damp...hugs
I know we needed rain, but it started raining here last night just after 7pm, and it hasn't stopped yet!!!

I was inspired by a Docrafts member to make these cards This is what she made (hope the link works) and these are my take on them.

Basecard for this one is PMD ivory linencard, folded and cut to fit 6x6 envelope. I used ivory because it is softer than the white of the other card.
Flower petals punched with SU.
Flower centre cut with the smallest Spellbinders oval die.
Backing cut from a 6x6 square (from stash) with Memory Box square stitched die.
Foliage cut with Cheery Lynn die.
Tiny beads from stash to finish off.

For this one I used a 7x7 card blank from?
Frame is the negative from the card above.
Flower made the same way.
Foliage cut with Marianne die.
Sentiment stamped and cut with SU.
I found lots of seed beads whilst delving into boxes looking for something else and used some for the flower centre.
Flowers are raised with sticky foam pads.
They really are very simple to make so I cut some kits for my friends to make last night, it was my turn to host our Friday session :o)

Commissioned set of 6

Good morning everyone, yet another dry one although a bit hazy. I hope all is well in your world...hugs

My friend said "make me a few cards please, with different sentiments" so here they are.
She loves my one layer photograph cards so that is what I made for her! She also bought a few others from my box :o)

Stop Press! Please note, it is a Speckled Wood Butterfly, NOT a moth!

These middle two are made up with two photographs merged, unlike the rest which are single photographs.

All cards are made with white linencard from The Range, folded and cut to 7x5.
All are my own photographs of course. The flutterby was one I took some years ago at Osbourne's Pond, which is at one end of Shipley Park, and the rest were taken at Attenborough Nature Reserve a few weeks ago.
I used several different fonts for the sentiments.
The flutterby was tubed by my very good friend PatEssex (Docrafts) and the rest were feathered by me in PSP7.

White pearls coloures with Copic marker pen.
Not much else can be said about it :o)

12x12 scrapbook page

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world...hugs

Brilliant sunshine out there, don't know if it's set to last yet!

It has been a long while (18months or more) since a did any scrapping, but I wanted to do something with a few of my recent swan photographs, so here it is!

Plain background is DCWV from stash, I didn't want anything to detract from the elegant swans, so I just chalked lightly around the pics to add a bit of depth.
Swan photographs taken at various places including Attenborough Nature Reserve and Straw's Bridge ponds, Ilkeston.
Printed onto my usual white linencard.
All dies used are Di-namics stitched, can you tell I love them LOL.
I used Sparty Pants font for the text :o)

Commissioned 8x8 50th anniversary

Good morning Bloggers, I hope that all is well in your world...hugs

What a wild, wet and miserable day we had yesterday, started off sunny then degenerated rapidly with horizontal rain and gales!  :o(  At least it seems to have calmed down this morning so far.

On to my card for today. I was asked to make a large Golden wedding anniversary card and it was left to me what I did, the only brief being it must be simple, so here it is, and I am pleased to say my customer was delighted with it, thank goodness :o)

I used a Papermania 8x8 card blank for this one.
I was given and old wedding photograph of the couple, and it was do faded and had lots of marks all over it, so I had a go at cleaning it up in PSP7 then feathering what I had left to get rid of everyone else!
I cut the photograph and gold mat with Spellbinders dies.
The rose (same rose used twice) is my own photograph beautifully tubed by my very good friend Pat (PatEssex on DC) And the sentiment is computer generated.

Inside, I used the same layout with the roses, and the verse is computer generated.
Not mush else can be said about it really, simple was what they wanted and simple was what they got :o)
