A brilliant day anda at last, I made something.....

.....I feel as if I have been in a crafting wilderness this last two weeks, but I am hopefully back amonst friends now :o)
Sunday was a fantastic day when I hosted our crafting get together and we even had a friend and her hubby fly over from Spain to join us. We started the day with our usual bacon butties, then it was off to Byrkley Park for some ratail therapy where I managed to get some Marianne dies that I have been wanting. You will see some of them on my DLO below.  When we got back we had the soup that I had made the previous evening. It was an "allsorts" soup, I just threw anything I had to hand in it and even if I do say so myself it was good ;-)
A great afternoon of crafting, in which I made precisely nothing, was followed with Chicken casserole and veggies and the lovely Pam had made bread and butter pudding and brought it with her.
Did I hear someone snoring there? I had better get the piccies on then :o)

My apologies for the quality of the photographs, I used the wrong camera in low light because I hadn't got time to change the lens on the other one!
All of the photographs were played with in PSE5 and PSP11 and they are matted onto gold paper. The 12x12 backing paper is from stash.  For the title I used Calvin font in SCAL and cut it out on the Cricut. Marianne dies for the embellishments and the journalling was printed in Word, Harrinton font.
Have a wonderful day everyone :o)

A bit of an experiment playing with images and my photogrpahs

Good morning everyone, I know you are probably all enjoing this very unseasonal weather but I am suffering with all this heat and I want Autumn to come back pleeeeeeeeeeeeease!
Anyway, onto my card. What can I say about it? I was ready to bin it but a couple of friends told me they love it!

The background is my own photograph taken through my sitting room window. The sleigh is an svg from Scrapping Table to which I have added a scroll. The "reindeer" - antelope really but heyho, it's cardmakers licence - is an image from CorelDraw7 which, in computer years, is ancient LOL. I have converted it to an svg then strung them together, but the small one is too small as it's legs are so thin they broke as I pulled them of the cutting
mat :o( The sentiment is my own Scal image and it, and the swirl, is covered with Glamour Dust. I drew the star with gluepen and dusted it too. Personally I am still not too sure that it's worth saving but I will be guided by all of you :o)

More playing on the Cricut

Good morning Bloggers, I hope you're all well or getting there :o)
I've been playing with SCAL again and designed the fat snowman and his hat, and the snow family and I am quite happy with them. Sorry about the shadows, the sun was quite strong.

I am not so sure about the cards but I just wanted to use the snowmen! Hopefully I'll do better next time LOL.
I used Peachy Keen face stamps on them coloured with copics. I found this ancient HOTP paper from stash :o)

In the pink and blue

Good morning everyone.
I know most of you are sun worshippers but I am soooooooooooo wishing for cooler weather. I have had enough of all this sticky stuff, it's purgatory for me :o(
Okay, moan over.
Surprise Surprise, I have been playing with SCAL again and made these 2 cards for the box.

Base cards are Bazzill. With the exception of the Xcut nestie squares, all the elements were cut on the Cricut. I created the words from the SCAL font library using Balloon font and the others are from the SCAL shapes library :o)

2 for the box

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all well :o)
These 2 cards are my last fling before going back to work this afternoon. I have been playing with SCAL again, it makes a big different when you put a new blade in the
Cricut :o)

For this one I used 2 svg files, cut with the Cricut.  The hearts from Penny Duncan and I am not sure where the heart tree one is from. Maybe you know and can tell me! I also used my new Marianne cut and emboss folder plus an FF sentiment and that is all there is to it, not much really.

For this one I used the scrap from the svg file used on the thanks cards I uploaded yesterday. I cut the swirl on the Cricut using the SCAL shape library. This is very simple and  I thought it would be suitable for a sympathy card :o)

First SCAL card

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well with you :o)

Well, what a start to my day! I got up at 6am to get myself in the shower as I had a ten past eight appointment for my NHS check. Ten minutes before setting off the 'phone rang and it was the surgery saying that my appointment was postponed until February because the nurse was sick grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr  I could have had another hour in bed!
Anyway, I digress. I have spent 3 days playing with my new SCAL software, updating my old Cricut to suit it and here is the fruit of my labours!
Frame and large flutterby cut with SCAL, said flutterby being a free svg from Penny Duncan. The other flutterbies are from Martha Stewart punches and all are cut/punched from MME card. Flower stamp is from Funstamps and they are coloured with copics, HOTP paper and ribbon from stash, the paper being embossed with C/bug embossing folder.
I am now going to celebrate by going to George's Tradition for a fish salad :o)
