Tiger, tiger burning bright...8x8 card

Good morning everyone, although it's pouring with rain here! I hope all is well in your world...hugs

I had a wonderful day with my friends on Sunday, and for the first time since Stephen's stroke, I was able to join them earlier so I got to go for retail therapy with them. I was in heaven :o)

For those of you who remember my son having a stroke 18 months ago, I can tell you that although his right arm is still paralysed and he still can't speak very much, he is able to look after himself fairly well now, so I don't have to keep running around for him, and boy am I so thankful as it was wearing me out!

On to my card for today, which I made for a friend's hubby and his great love is tigers :o)

Unfortunately, although I do have tiger photographs of my own, none of them are full face on, so I Googled this one.

I opened it in PSP7 to feather the image, and printed it, along with the sentiment, onto white linencard, then cut both with my new Spellbinders square pierced dies and matted them onto black card from my scrap box.

I then opened my feathered image in PSP11 to create the paper for the background and inside.

Base card is white papermania 8x8.

I really love this card and don't want to give it away...sob  :o)

And finally, a card

Good morning everyone. Thank you for your support through my family trials and tribulations...hugs to you all. They haven't finished because no my daughter is now in the hospital with her gall stones! Thank goodness they are both in the same hospital, makes visiting them easier! 

But, there is a bright side at last. I got my car back yesterday, no charge as it was a manufacturer's fault,  afternoon and it feels wonderful. Only trouble is, after driving Stephen's card for a few days, I keep turning the windscreen wipers on instead of indicating LOL. 

The very best thing though is that Stephen is improving slightly each day. He now helps them (one handed)  to dress him, and when they are washing him he turns over when they ask him, so he is understanding things more. His face is back to normal. He talks a lot with his face and eyebrows and the old Stephen is back :o)

Anyway, enough of my family's woes. Here is the only card I have made since Stephen's stroke!

This photograph is of Uncle Doug in WW2 on his ship, HMS Penelope.

I gave it the soft frame and the text in PSP11 then printed it onto white linen card.

What a wonderful man he was and he will be remembered with much love :o)

Passed MOT + Set of 6 mini notecards

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all well and painfree, or getting there...hugs

Well, my 13 year old banger passed it's MOT yesterday with nothing needing to be done Yayyyyy! I now have the rest of the week to do what I like, when I like and if I like, starting with lunch at George's  Tradition in Long Eaton today :o)

On to my cards for today, which is a set of 4x4 notecards which I made just because I wanted too! As you can see, I have been playing with my photographs again, I think I'm addicted to this pastime now LOL.

Once again, I feathered my photographs in PSP11 then printed straight onto the cards. I have shown the inside of one so you can see that each has a small image in the corner. The sentiment was also printed in PSP11 and I used Dauphin font :o)

I've been playing with my photographs.....

..... so I didn't realise how fast the days were speeding by :o)

I have long wanted to print my photographs onto linen card to give a textured look to them but neither of my printers like card and make a mess of them! These are very much and experiment but I am quite pleased with the results. I found some heavy paper rather than card and they print okay so I must pop to PDA in the week and see if I can find some more.

Anyhow, these are the results so far, I hope you like them :o)

 This first one is for my daughter Susan who loves CAS and nothing sloppy

Her birthday is not until Wednesday so don't know yet if she likes it, but knowing Susan, she will love it. I usually test my experiments out on her :o)

 Both Susan's card and this 4x4 mini card are cream linen

These last two are white linen card and I had such a struggle getting the printer to accept them, I had to literally push the card through so I won't be printing onto this again, don't want to rist damaging the priters! All of the photographs were opened in PSP11 and feathered. 

 If I manage to get suitable card/paper at PDA then I will be doing some more of these :o)

New labels +a card + a photograph

Good morning Bloggers, I hope all is well with you. I went to the doctor's early yesterday for my annual blood tests and an ecg because my blood pressure is up! Well, I am very happy to report that the old ticker is in tiptop, A1 condition so I should be good for at least a few more years :o)

Last night I was playing with PSP11 and came up with these labels for my work. Are they too obtrusive, or should I fade them out more?

Here is another camellia card, made for no particular reason other than I wanted to play!

Own photograph of course, feathered in PSP and text added. Foliage is a Marianne diecut and basecard is linen cut and folded to 5x7

Have you ever seen a hen up a tree?  Well it was a bush really! I took this at Byrkley Park on Sunday, I was in the right place at the right time because a couple of minutes later he/she got down from ther e.

The scroll used in my labels was created by my very good friend PatEssex (DC) and I used Papyrus font, one of my favourites :o)

A welcome and a few from own photographs

Good morning Bloggers. I would like to welcome new follower Karen, thank you for joining me :o)

Last Sunday I went to Attenborough Nature Reserve and for the first time saw a couple of herons fishing there. Unfortunately they were too far away to see the fish in their mouths very well but it was a great experience. I also managed to take pics of a ladybug and a great crested grebe so of course I had to make cards with them :o)

They are very simple cards, and no sentiments until I know who I will be giving them to.

I opened the heron and grebe photographs in PSE5 to give them a swirly frame, then in PSP11 to give them the other frames. I popped the birds with Collall 3D glue. The mat on the ladybug card its corrugated card from PDA. The leaf vine is a Memory Box die :o)

New dies and an Easter Greeting

Good morning Bloggers. Thank you so much for your well wishes, I am fine now and back at work :o)

My new Memory Box dies arrived on Tuesday morning so I went straight up to the craftroon to play. Not too sure of this one although it's growing on me!

Made just because I wanted to. Yellow is cut from Bazzill and purple from vellum, cut with Nesties.There's not really a lot I can say about this one, it speaks for itself :o)

For my Easter greeting I have used my duck photograph with my good friend Pat's bow, and added the greeting in PSP11. Can't remember whether I used Viner Hand or Vivaldi font but it's one of the two :o)

My Easter collection

Good morning everyone,  I hope you are all warm and well. At the moment I have nice blue skies and fluffy white clouds but it's very windy. I haven't ventured outside yet so don't know if it's cold!

Get yourelf a cuppa and get comfy cuz there are several cards to look at. Sorry if they make you nod off :o)

I created the topper from 3 of my photographs, namely the duck, the daffodils and the grass. I put them together in PSP11 and added the bow from my good friend PatEssex from Docrafts.

All backing papers ar Kay and Co.  Embellishments are from Martha Stewart (flutterby), Marianne (corner) and memory Box (leaf vine).

The sentiments are computer generated and cut out with SU and Nestie dies and two are handcut :o)

Another digi scrapbook page

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all warm and well after all the snow over the weekend!

This is my second attempt at digi scrapbooking, still haven't made up my mind about it but at least I am not wasting any papers while I am trying LOL.

This photograph of me was taken by my Granddaughter Sian (she was only 15 at the time) using my camera. I created the stamp image in PSE5. The dragonfly, flutterby and rose photograps were taken by me and tubed by my friend Pat.  Page was created in PSP11 :o)

My very first ever.....

.....digital scrapbook pages!

Good morning everyone, I hope the snow hasn't reached you yet.  It's not arrived here yet, but it's still very white with the thick frost overnight Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

On to my digi pages then, never tried them before but as so many folks are doing them I thought I would have a go :o)

Not too sure of them but as they are my first I am reasonably happy.

My Great Grandson Ryan during the summer of 2007.

I used my own sunflower photograph, tubed by my very good friend Pat, to build up a field of them fronted by Pat's fence, and added Pat's scroll. I opened the photographs in PSE5 to frame them and created the pages, including the text,  in PSP11 :o)
