I came out of work to this last night

8.30 last night, came out of work to find this! Took me nearly 20 minutes to get it cleared, because the snow kept covering it as fast I was clearing it.  I had to drive nearly 7 miles at 12 to 15 mph but at least I got home safely. There had been no gritting at all! Why?

Yikes Jackie, your car really was covered. Glad to read you made it home safe and sound. Do the council grit the roads for snow? I believe that they only grit the roads for ice as the snow will just wash it all down and wash it away. I could be wrong through. Best place to be today is the craft room Tracey x

No gritting here in Sheffield and we are snowed in. I think they only grit a couple of roads. Same last year.Glad you got home safely.xxx

Goodness me Jackie - not fun! You were probably lucky that you were able to get home and not have to stay at work. I can just imagine how stressful it must have been driving in such terrible conditions. Glad you got home OK.

Oh dear Jackie, that must have been a job and half, glad you home in one piece anyway.....still no snow for us, it's bitterly cold and the rain I thought we were having yesterday turned out to be ice...lol...every where is super slippy and VERY dangerous, the upside, the gritters, if they can do it in a small village then why not big towns....stay safe.xx

So glad you got home safely. I love the look of snow, but hate it in reality!! We've been really lucky in North Wales - no sign of the snow!!

At least you got home safe and sound Jackie, I see on the news a lot of people spent the night in their cars. I love the snow, but it is very disruptive isn't it?

Gritting at all? Not sure I understand. I "DO" understand a lot of snow and clinching the steering wheel all the way home. wow! I have to look up where you live on the map. I wasn't figuring snow for you.
