A wonderful day + a simple card

Good morning everyone, what a difference a day makes. Settle down with a cuppa because this is an epic tale :o)
Four of us set off from Derby before 8am yesterday in the lashing gales and rain. We were on route to the wonderful Viv's at Macclesfield for a crafting get together and as we were approaching Leek we came to an abrupt halt because there was a huge tree down across the road! Luckily, there was a right turn just before the blockage so  we took a chance and in less than 5 minutes were were back on the main road past the fallen tree and on our way again.  We were the first to arrive and soon we were all there having our obligatory bacon butties and cuppas. We had friends from Spain, Basingstoke, Liverpool and Chapel-en-le-Frith, altogether 10 crafters and two long suffering males who had driven their respective aunts and wife up for the day.  After the bacon butties, the two men went off for a trip around the peak District in the pouring rain and we ladies set off to C&Js at Edgely for some brilliant retail therapy.
When we got back we had delicious broccoli and stilton soup (made by our friend Pam from Chapel) with cheese covered tiger bread, folled by crackers/cheese and chocolate cupcakes made by our friend Issy from Basingstoke. They survived the 4 hour journey intact but soon disappeared.
Are your mouths watering? Have you fallen asleep yet? :o)
After that it was crafting all the way until dinner. Viv makes a wonderful chinese chicken curry with prawn crackers, and this was followed by sticky toffee pudding and sauce which our good friend Dizzy Di had made and brought with her from Liverpool.
We all thought we had died and gone to heaven :o)
Are you still awake? This morning we have wall to wall sunshine! Believe it or not, I am sharing a card with you today so here it is!

I don't think I could have made it much more simple!
Materials and equipment used are;
Marianne boat die
Nesties
Bazzil and white linen card, gems and cord from stash.

I did put together 6 cards yeaterday for a Christmas card commission, but I had cut out all the bits and pieces at home previously. I am not uploading them because they are the same as my 3 card in an earlier post :o)

Two cards from a friend's photograph + crafting day

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all well or getting there.  For the first time this week it's not raining.....yet, but it is very wild out there and not at all warm!
Despite the weather, tomorrow I am off to Macclesfield with friends for a crafting day so I will tell you about it in the week :o)
A very good friend, AngelaG2 from Docrafts, sent me a photograph which was taken by her OH David. Angela threw down the gauntlet and 'invited' me to make a card with it. Well I couldn't resist the challenge could I so here are the two cards I made. I must say that I am green with envy that I didn't take the photograph myself! :o)

The reason I superimposed the ladybugs onto the photograph of Wollaton Hall (below) is that is where I first met Angela and David :o)

As usual, I cut and folded the card to size, in this case 6x6 and 5x7. I used linen card on one and hammered card on the other. Marianne dies used and for the 'brads' on the second card I punched three tiny circles and covered them with glossy accents.
I hope I have done justice to David's wonderful photograph :o)

New labels +a card + a photograph

Good morning Bloggers, I hope all is well with you. I went to the doctor's early yesterday for my annual blood tests and an ecg because my blood pressure is up! Well, I am very happy to report that the old ticker is in tiptop, A1 condition so I should be good for at least a few more years :o)
Last night I was playing with PSP11 and came up with these labels for my work. Are they too obtrusive, or should I fade them out more?
Here is another camellia card, made for no particular reason other than I wanted to play!

Own photograph of course, feathered in PSP and text added. Foliage is a Marianne diecut and basecard is linen cut and folded to 5x7

Have you ever seen a hen up a tree?  Well it was a bush really! I took this at Byrkley Park on Sunday, I was in the right place at the right time because a couple of minutes later he/she got down from ther e.
The scroll used in my labels was created by my very good friend PatEssex (DC) and I used Papyrus font, one of my favourites :o)

I've been playing with doilies

Good morning Bloggers, what a shock I got when I signed in and got the new blogger. It will take a bit of getting used to but hey ho, here we go!
On to my card for today which is 8x8.

I haven't made it for anyone in particular, so it will go into my box for now.
I sprayed a paper doily with bronze Cosmic shimmer mist and it went so limp that I had to leave it a while to dry!
This is the only size card that I buy ready folded because I don't want to waste A3 size card cutting one myself. The camellia is a photograph I took way back in 2007 at Wollaton park in the camellia house, cut with Go Kreate die and of course, I had to use the gorgeous Memory Box corner dieto finish off. Once again, a very simple card :o)

Ivory and green

Good morning everyone. What a difference a day makes. We've gone from wall to wall sunshine yesterday to wall to wall grey, wild and very wet today! Still, we do desperately need the wet stuff so I'm not complaining.
For my card today I am back to dies and punchart, I do love playing with cutting and punching :o)

The basecard is ivory linen card, the foliage and mat are green linen card and the embossed panel, flutterbies  and flowers are ivory pearl card. Flower centres are liquid pearls.
I used;
Leone Em and Woodware punches for the flowers.
Martha Stewart punch for the flutterbies.
Cheery Lyn dies for the foliage
Have a great day everyone :o)

Wisteria at Stratford on Avon

Good morning Bloggers,  we have frost here but wall to wall sunshine and blue skies so it will soon be melted. I hope all is well with you. The washing is in the washer, the beef is in the oven, I am going to prepare the veg etc then I'm heading for the craftroom :o)
Onto my card, which I made a couple of weeks ago. I took the photograph at Stratford on Avon way back in the summer of 2008 while I was there with my granddaughter. My daughter was there for a summer lecture during her degree course so we tagged on and enjoyed the day taking in the sights, and lots of food :o)

I cut the card and photograph out with Go Kreate and the GC .  Foliage is a Marianne die and the sentiment is SU stamp and punches :o)

A bit of stamping and colouring for a change.....

.....before I forget how to do it LOL. I so love making cards with punchart and die cutting that I tend to forget about all my lovely stamps and digi images. It felt very strange using my poor neglected copics :o)
Anyhow, onto my offerings for today.

I love this elderly couple from Mo's Digital images, and it's the first time the cheers stamp has seen ink since I bought it about two years ago Unfortunately I cannot remember where I got the gardening image from! The first card is 5x7 and the others are 5x5 :o)

Flutterby butterflies

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well with you.
I decided to have a play with flutterbies yesterday and here are the results, which I am quite pleased with :o)

Although they don't look it here, thay are all cream and brown. I 'found' loads of cream linen card in my stash and I thought it was time it saw the light of day! I have only three Marianne cut and emboss folders, good job ot I might have made more cards LOL, so that's why 3 cards. The embossed panels are cream pearlcard backed with plain brown card, which I also used for the flutterbies. Foliage and flutterbies are Memory Box and Marianne dies, and Martha Stewart punch :o)

Using negative images and another welcome

Good morning Bloggers. First, I would like to welcome Mau to my followers, thank you for joining me Mau :o)
Oh wow, what a difference a day makes, yesterday rain, rain and more rain, today, wall to wall sunshine and blue skies. Mind you, we do so desperately need the wet stuff, it just came on the wrong day! Anyhow, on to my cards for today.

They couldn't be any more simple if I tried, but I am quite please with them. I used the Memory Box negatives from a previous card, linen card from stash and an SU stamp. They took all of 5 minutes to make :o)

A welcome and a few from own photographs

Good morning Bloggers. I would like to welcome new follower Karen, thank you for joining me :o)
Last Sunday I went to Attenborough Nature Reserve and for the first time saw a couple of herons fishing there. Unfortunately they were too far away to see the fish in their mouths very well but it was a great experience. I also managed to take pics of a ladybug and a great crested grebe so of course I had to make cards with them :o)

They are very simple cards, and no sentiments until I know who I will be giving them to.
I opened the heron and grebe photographs in PSE5 to give them a swirly frame, then in PSP11 to give them the other frames. I popped the birds with Collall 3D glue. The mat on the ladybug card its corrugated card from PDA. The leaf vine is a Memory Box die :o)

New dies and an Easter Greeting

Good morning Bloggers. Thank you so much for your well wishes, I am fine now and back at work :o)
My new Memory Box dies arrived on Tuesday morning so I went straight up to the craftroon to play. Not too sure of this one although it's growing on me!

Made just because I wanted to. Yellow is cut from Bazzill and purple from vellum, cut with Nesties. There's not really a lot I can say about this one, it speaks for itself :o)

For my Easter greeting I have used my duck photograph with my good friend Pat's bow, and added the greeting in PSP11. Can't remember whether I used Viner Hand or Vivaldi font but it's one of the two :o)

P.S. I forgot to say that this is a png image, not a card. If you wish to use it them you may but please don't pass it on. Instead please refer peeps to my blog. Just click on the image, right click then save as.

Two baby bibs

Good morning Bloggers, I hope all is well with you :o)
I was supposed to go back to work yesterday after a week's holiday, but instead I was home because I daren't move more than a few yards from the loo :o( On the bright side, my craftroom is next door to the loo so all was not lost LOL.
On to my cards for today. They could not possibly be more simple. Oh how I bless the day I bought my GC.

I cut the bib cards out using Go Kreate and Nesties. They are approx 5". stuck ribbon scraps on and inked the edges.  Marianne diecuts to finish off :o)

One photograph = 6 cards

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well with you and yours.
This is my last day of freedom, I have to go back to work tomorrow. I cannot believe how fast the week has flown by!
On to my cards for today, all made using the same photograph which I took last year at Wollaton Park, Nottingham.

I gave the photograph different frames in PSE 5. The basecards were cut and folded from linen card, one is A6, one is 6x6 and the rest are 7x5. Three of the pics were handcut and the rest cut with nesties and all are matted onto Bazzill. Flourishes, foliage and corners were cut with Memory Box, Cheery Lyn and Provocraft :o)
