What a day!

Good morning Bloggers, no cards yet but I did manage to print and fold 20+ inserts yesterday, just got to crop them to size and fit them then my 'box' will be looking healthier to take to band practise tomorrow night :o)
I went to my cousin's 50th (surprise) anniversay celebrations on Saturday night and what a fab 60s night it was. No disco, it was live 60s music all the way. What a wonderful change it was for the extended family to get together for other than a funeral!
It was panic stations Sunday morning when my PC decided not to read my external hard drive. I have more than 20,000 of my photographs on that drive, plus thousands of other files, and I thought I had lost them all. Once the panic subsided I tried unplugging the external drive and plugging it back in and Voila, it worked PHEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I quickly fetched the other ext. hard drive from upstairs and copied all the files over so I now have them all twice, just in case. It took nearly 3 hours to get them safely copied! From now on, when I save anything to the ext. drive, I will copy it to a memory stick then on to the other ext drive.
Anyways up, all's well that ends well and I can now enjoy the rest of my week off :o)

Made this morning

Firstly, thank you so much to all of you for the reassurances about my medical MOT. I am not worried about it because it is being dealt with, just annoyed that I couldn't carry on without pill popping :o)
Birthday cards for three friends, all made using own photographs

For this first one I used the snowdrop photograph from a previous post.

For these two I used a photograph I took a couple of years ago near a local lake

As you can see, I have used SCAL and Nesties for cutting images and frames out. All card and papers from Stash :o)

Variations on a theme and other stuff

Firstly, I must apologise for the fuzzy pics, the light was very bad and
I don't like to use flash!
I went for a medical MOT yesterday, mistake or not? Grab yourself a cuppa and relax a while!
I had the blood tests previously and was called into the Doc's for the results which I have spoken about before (underactive thyroid diagnosed)
Yesterday I came out of there feeling a tad deflated. My cholesterol is high, my blood pressure is a tad too erratic and I have a 43% chance of heart problems within the next ten years. The good news is that my thyroid medication is working although I need a stronger dose as it's could be working betterbetter. The extra good news (?) is that if I start taking medication for the cholesterol, which is probably hereditary, and the BP then my chance of heart problems later falls to 20%. Well that's a no brainer so having got to nearly 70 without popping pills (I was quite proud of this) I will soon be taking
3 different ones a day!

Anyways up, I digress. The above card was commissioned by our band for one of our members who sadly passed away peacefully at the weekend. Like many other cardmakers, I find sympathy cards so hard to make so I decided to make half a dozen for the box.

Both stamps are Hero Arts, stamped in black or London fog Memento, and the sentiments are from SU.
Nelli Snellen and nestie dies were used for the layering.
Did I hear someone snoring there? :o)

Stamping for the weekend - monochrome

At last, a challenge card!
I made this for a lady firefighter who adores fire engines. It is also suitable for the monochrome challenge over at Stamping for the Weekend
I folded and cut the card to 7x5.

I used my own photograph, changed to sepia in PSP then cut on the Cricut using a free SVG image by the lovely Penny Duncan
Base card is from PDA and is a kind of beige colour which fitted the bill perfectly for the sepia tones. Tree stamped straight on to base card, SU sentiment punched with SU punches and popped with sticky foam pads. It's really a very simple card :o)

No card but a couple of pics

Good morning Bloggers :o)
Still no cards from me yet but I was out on a photo shoot and for a pub lunch with friends yesterday and I thought you might like to see this lovey sign that Spring really is just around the corner. I took these snowdrops in Little Eaton churchyard, aren't they just perfect :o)

I couldn't resist taking this silver birch against the grey sky, I thought it might make a good background on some cards :o)

It was very cold and windy but we had a great day :o)

Just a simple card

Good morning Bloggers, I hope all is well with everyone.
Thank you for the well wishes on my starving for blood tests. Nothing serious, just checking whether the dosage of my tablets for underactive thyroid is high enough, and those fish and chips were manna from heaven :o)
Anyway, onto my card.

It's a very simple one today folks. This frame is the very first thing I cut out using SCAL, but then I didn't know what to do with it until I spotted this stamped image I had done to make a card weeks ago and then forgot about (another senior moment)  :o)
I stamped the same image onto the base card with Lindon Fog Brilliance ink to form and edge. I spayed the flower frame with C&C silver spray, blue flowers are stamped with Marvey's. Greeting is SU cut out with nestie :o)

I'm hungry...

... in fact I'm starving. I am on a 12 hour fast for blood tests this morning and I'm pining away here! I ate at 10pm last night when I got in from work so I can't go for my blood test before 10am boohoo :o( Luckily it is my day for going to George's Tradition in Long Eaton for my lunch so I will make up for it :o)
Anyway, here is a couple of photographs to keep you going until I make some more cards.

Taken through my kitchen window (the window cleaner had been the day before), this chirpy little fellow is sitting on next door's fence :o)

Managed a card at last

Good morning Bloggers, at last a card from me!
It's been a very eventful few days in which my washing machine died a tragic and noisy death with me standing by with mop and bucket during it's final death throes :o(
My new machine has been delivered this morning and I am just putting it through it's initial wash without any clothes in!
After that I had a fab Friday evening with crafting friends and all day Sunday too. We didn't get any crafting done but we got lots of shopping, both crafting and other, and fantastic food with lots of laughing and chinwagging in between :o)

Anyway, on to my card, which was commissioned and I was provided with the photograph of the recipient. I have to say that I have never made a card for an animal before so I was covering new ground :o)
I will do my best to get round your blogs over the next couple of days or so. Thank you for sticking with me and for those of you who have recently joined my followers :o)

Sorry I'm AWOL

Good morning Bloggers, I am so sorry that I have been neglecting you the last couple of days or so, there are just not enough hours in the day or days in the week at the moment. I have been sooooooooooo busy that going to work is getting in the way!
Today I am off out to breakfast with friends, then some retail therapy and hopefully some crafting, but mainly lots of chinwagging and laughter. I promise that I will be round to visit you as soon as I can :o)

Paper Playtime #36 - Digital Monday

I nearly said good morning Bloggers but I see we are already into the afternoon! Where did that morning go?
I made this 8x8 card for my Cousin's anniversary and it fits
Paper Playtime #36 Digital Monday.

The couple do not like fussy so I hope this is unfussy enough for them :o)
I have used Mo's digi image 'Young Love', coloured with a mixture of copics and promarkers then matted onto gold textured card from my stash, as is the main image which is from my own photograph played about with in PSP by myself and my very good friend Pat. Martha Stewart punch and Nestie used, and gold brads from stash.
