A new challenge blog.....

.....has just issued it's first challenge over at

It's a bit of a mishmash because I have just bought my first Copics this morning but I haven't enough colours, so I have also used Crayola pencils and Sakura Stardust pens :o) Unfortunately, none of the stamps I've used have got names on them so I can't give very much information for this one :o)
Recipe:
BC is from a HOTP Christmas stack from a couple of years ago
Blacke pearlised card from stash
All stamps no name?
Dovecraft chalk
Copic markers
Crayola pencils

Apologies.....

..... for not visiting your blogs in the last few days. Like several other bloggers, I get onto the blogs then they freeze up on me. I don't know what's causing it but it sure is frustrating and I hope it's soon rights itself :o(

Stamp Something - embellished somethings

This is the first time I have made a card for Stamp Something's challenge over at http://stampchallenges.blogspot.com/2009/06/embellished-somethings-challenge.html

I stamped the DP with PB scroll stamp and made my own embellishments by punching flowers & leaves from shrink plastic, watercolouring them, then shrinking. Main image watercoloured too with the background lightly chalked to soften the stark white. This is a stamp I used at a friend's house so not sure if it's PB.
Recipe:
BC is hammered white as usual
DP is Papermania and HOTP
McGill flower punch
Woodware leaf punch
Shrink plastic
PB scroll stamp
PB flower stamp (?)
Stickles
Dovecraft chalks
Embroidery thread
Ribbon scrap

Stamps and Smiles challenge card 21

This is my entry for the SASSC21 over at http://www.sasthefreshbatch.blogspot.com/
Managed to get it made on the first day instead of the last for a change :o)

It's the first time I have ever used this colour combination and I think I like it :o)
I stamped and watercoloured the image then punched it out and had to then go through my stash to fine DPs that would be appropriate! Then I couldn't find any blue gems so had to resort to punching some pearlised daisies to go with the ones on the DP BUT, I got there in the end :o)
Recipe:
BC is from a Coredinations stack very kindly given to me by one of our Derby Dabblers members
DPs are Papermania
Xcut punch for the tiny flowers
Stickles for the flower centres
SU Summer by the sea stamp
Caran D'Ache watercolour pencils
Yellow backing flower cut with Cricut from Tags, bags, boxes and more
Ribbon given by one of our crafting group at Caister

Another 2 in 1 challenge card

I made this one for SASSC20 over at http://sasthefreshbatch.blogspot.com/
Then I realised it would also be suitable for the Stamp Something challenge over at http://stampchallenges.blogspot.com/2009/06/black-white-and-one-color-somethings_19.html that's to Lorraine at http://loraquilina.blogspot.com/ passing the link for them to me, thank you Lorraine :o)
I coloured the flowers in with Sakura Stardust pens to give a bit of sparkle, and handdid the spots in the corner!
Most of my cards are square nowadays so I decided to try an A6 tentfold and I am fairly pleased with it :o)

DPs are DCWV from a B&W stack
Black pearlised paper from HOTP masculine stack
Sakura Stardust pens
Image is from Funstamps

At last a challenge card

This is my first attempt at two challenges in one card so I hope it's okay :o)
I think it is also suitable for the OCC challenge - Stars over at http://ourcreativecorner6.blogspot.com/2009/06/occ-challenge-stars.html
I thought it was time to stop making pink and brown cards for a while, even though I love those two colours together, so I did pink and black instead LOL.
I heat embossed the sentiment and coloured the stars with Sakura Stardust pen to give it a bit of sparkle :o)
Recipe:
Hammered pink BC
DPs from J&P Pictures Summer Flowers CD
HOTP pearlised paper from Masculine stack
Sizzix die
Anita's ribbon and sentiment stamp
Fiskars Threading Water border punch

Gulp! Is it really that long...

...since I last posted.
What a bad blogger I am but I have been so busy with my large invite order that all else has fallen by the wayside. Still, the end is finally in sight, I hope to have finished them by the end of this week so I may be able to get around to making other cards :o) Unfortunately work gets in the way at times :-(

Naming Day invites

I went upstairs to make some challenge cards but my mojo just flew out of the window :o(

I decided to put this one on instead. It is the final one chosen from the samples and I have to make another 119 of them during the next 16 days! I have spent the afternoon hand cutting loads of the photographs to size, only 35 more to go!

Thank goodness the customer chose simple :o)
Recipe:
Hammered ivory BC
Textured gold paper
SU sentiment stamp
Memento inkpad

Oh woe is me!

What a day I've had so far. I got up full of good intentions; make 3 challenge cards, crop photographs for the naming day invites, convert some of the files for our man CD to PDF, a bit of weeding........
I turned the computer on first things to check my emails and have a little blog hop with my morning coffee. My monitor was dead as a Dodo! I did all the necessary checks, loose wires, fuse etc, nothing but black screen and total silence :o( Of course there is no warranty left on it!
Off I go and do the 14 mile round trip to the computer store to see if I can get a new monitor. Get myself a bargain, clearance line at very reasonable price. Gets home, plugs it in, works great but everyone is little and fat like me, and there is no sound. I can cope with little and fat, been like it for years, silence I do not like. Took it back to the shop, turns out that it had no sound capability! Paid another £27 and bought a replacement and double/triple checked it was "wired for sound". It was thank goodness, but everyone is still little and fat. No doubnt I will get used to wide screen eventually and who knows, I may even find out how to make it normal size. In the meantime here I am with nothing done, no cards, no cropped pics, no files converted. Methinks I had better hi-tail it to the craftroom and see what I can come up with.

Another lovely award...

Thank you so much Sue and once again I apologise for not putting it on sooner. I am so busy with a large (for me) Naming Day order I haven't had time to think about blogging :o(
As with the other you so kindly gave me, I can't pick out just a few peeps from the many so I award this to all of my regular followers :o)
Jackie xx

One award from two bloggers!

I have been so busy that I didn't have chance to put them on sooner, my apologies girls, I do appreciate them so much :o)
My thanks go to
and
I am supposed to pick bloggers to pass them on to but it is so difficult to choose a few from the many, so I decided to pass it on to everyone who visits my blog :o)

Oh I've been a bad blogger.....

.....I don't know where the time has gone since I came back from Caister! I have been trying to make my SASSC18 challenge card for 3 days and today I have to get started on 120 Naming Day invitations for my neighbour's daughter. I have just 20 days to do them and I will be at work for 8 of those!
Anyway, enough of that or I won't even get started. First job of the day today is to count out the A4 sheets of card and then cut them in half, then fold them! Hopefully I will also get the challenge card finished as today is the last day anyway. Then this afternoon I have to go to work, it does get in the way at times. Hopefully I will get to post the card before I go to work :o)

Back home...

...after a great few days in Caister on Sea :o)

I only made 4 cards but here they are. We stopped off at Sir Stampalot on the way and spent a small fortune on crafting stuff that we just had to have, then went in the crafting shop at Caister and spent some more :o)
Hopefully I will catch up with your posts during the next few days :o)
