Purple vellum flowers

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world...hugs

Well, once again the day had started sunny, but again it is starting to cloud over!!!

I found this lovely purple vellum in my stash so thought I would see what it looked like on a card, I must say that I do like it lots.

This is my 3rd set of Honey Doo stamps and I do love them.
Stamped with Brilliance Pearlescent Lavender and heat embossed with SU White Pearl Translucent powder, then handcut.
Crealies and Elizabeth Crafts leaf dies used to cut the foliage from Bazzill card.
Flutterbies punched with Martha Stewart punch.
Glossy Accents raindrops and tiny purple brads for the flower centres.
Grey Bazzil circle cut with Di-namics stitched die.
Single pearl coloured with Copic marker pen.
Sentiment stamped with Stamps and Smiles.
Ooooooooops! Nearly forgot to say the basecard is A4 white linencardfolded and cut to
nearly 6x6 :o)

Peony digi watercoloured

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all well, or heading in the right direction...hugs

For my card today, I used a peony digi image from Imag-e-nation. I have had it for a long time so I thought it was about time I used it!

For the base card I used white linen card from Papermill Direct, folded and cut to 7x5.
Peony image printed onto the same card, coloured with Caran D'Ache watercolour pencils, then cut with Spellbinders Nestie. Mat and Memory Box leaf vine cut from Bazzill. Sentiment stamped with My Creative Time. Very simple card :o)

Re-acquainted myself with watercolouring

Good morning everyone I hope you are all well, or getting there, on this beautiful sunshiny morning after two very dull wet days!
It's car M.O.T. time again, got to take it in this morning so please wish me luck, I've got everything crossed that can be crossed LOL.

Stop Press, my car has passed it's M.O.T. Not bad for an old banger :o)

Whilst looking for something else, as you do, I came across my sadly neclected watercolour pencils, so I decided to play with them. Must practice my blending with them, it is so easy with Copics! Anyhow, this is the first one for many moons!

8x8 card base made using plain white card.
Embossalicious 8x8 folder used on pearlised white card for the backing.
DZ Doodles image printed onto white linen card from Papermill Direct, then watercoloured with Caran D'Ache pencils before being cut out with Spellbinder's Grand Nesties. Orange card is Bazzill.  I hope you like it :o)

Had a play session.....

.....yesterday afternoon and here is part of the result. I created lots of different ones using the basic shapes in SCAL.

I have long had banner dies on my wish list but now I've deleted it because I found I can create my own in SCAL Yippeeeeeee, lots of pennies saved. These are just a few of the ones I created, then cut out on my (very old) Cricut. The beauty of it is that I can cut them any size I want within the machine's capabilities! The babygros and dummies were cut from Bazzill and the rest from an old J&P Pictures tartan paper :o)

Lupin

Good morning Bloggers. Firstly, I want to send positive thoughts to our friends across the pond who have suffered so much devastation and loss. Please know that I am thinking of you all and sending hugs.

My card for today is a beautiful lupin digi from Delicious Doodles and it's a long time since I used it! I really enjoyed colouring it. I have had this image for a couple of years or more so I thought it was time to bring it out again.

Base card is white linen folded and cut to 7x5.
Lupin coloured with copics and lightly chalked round the edges, then layered onto green Bazzill, both cut with Nesties. I added clear gems from stash, coloured to match with copic marker :o)

A page for a change

Good morning Bloggers, I hope you are all well and if not then I hope you soon will be...hugs
Thank you for all your good wishes for my return to work. It was a bit of a bodyshock but I am into my second week back and doing fine :o)
I have a scrapbook page to share with you today, a reminder of my lovely trip to Calke Abbey last week.

I created the image in PSP7 (Paint Shop Pro) from photographs taken on the day, then printed it edge to edge on Papermania textured card. Sadly I only have an A4 printer and I like my pages to be 12x12 so I cropped it to 8x8 and attached it to a sheet of Bazzill.  I cut the embellishment out from a 12x12 sheet in my stash, I think it might MME but not sure. It was much harder work cutting that out than creating the main image!!! I was always in danger of cutting the branches off cuz they were so fine :o)

Another page

Good morning Bloggers, I hope all is well in your world. Enjoy your day whatever you are doing :o)
Took my fit note into work yesterday and I am going back on a phased return next Monday 22nd Whoopeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. I have been off with my shoulder for 3 1/2 months and I will be so glad to get back there. Never going to grumble about work again!
I'm off out to my (non crafting) friend's this morning and we are going to Duffield for a pub lunch, can't remember the name of the pub but I have no doubt we will enjoy our meal :o)
This is the other half to my fairy page making a double LO for St Chad's Water. Journalling will be hidden at the back of the page (when I get it done LOL).

Very simple layout. Backing is Bazzill card. All photographs are matted onto dark green card which I found in my stash. Title cut with Cricut using George and Basic Shapes cart. I have the large photograph as my screen wallpaper at the moment, it's like having a piece of art on the wall :o)

Christmas candles

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world. What a beautiful morning it is, everywhere is white with frost and it looks so pretty :o)
I am on holiday for a week now...all together now YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY...so I meant to enjoy myself. I do have to take the car in for service on Tuesday but that is just one day out of the eight I have! Tomorrow I am off to Belper river gardens to meet up with Mol from Docrafts so I am looking forward to that ;o)
On to my card for today. Yes, it's another simple one, with postage rates being so high I like to keep the ones for posting fairly flat! I have made some non Christmas cards too but can't put them on yet in case they are seen!

White linen card base folded and cut to 5x7.
Pearlised white card embossed with Craft Concepts folder, then lightly sponged with Memento inks, then matted with orange Bazzill from scrap box. Added tree handcut from white glittercard scrap, sentiment stamp from ?   :o)

Thursday, 15 November 2012

Good morning everyone, I'm not liking this fog we have today, and they do say that it will be slow to lift! Still, at least it's not cold this morning.
I'm not going far today, only to George's Tradition in Long Eaton for my weekly fix lunch. Can't let the weather stop me going there LOL. Then of course, as it's Thursday I will be at my daughter's at teatime. Other than that, methinks a bit of family research and maybe a play in the craftroom will be the order of the day.
Anyhow, on to my card for today which is another very simple one.

Basecard is linen. The panel is pearlised white card embossed with ? embossing folder (sorry, no name on it) and matted onto red Bazzill from my scrap bin. Marianne poinsettia die cut from red vellum and green card, stamens hi-lited with Glossy Accents and Glamour Dust, sticky back gem from stash to finish off. I have had that sentiment on the acrylic block for so long (years) that I cannot remember where it's from :o)

Two more from my Calke Abbey photographs

Good morning Bloggers :o)
It's a bit grey and cool, but at least it's dry!
First, I must welcome Flora, a new follower, thank you for joining me Flora, sorry to say I can't access your blog!
I have two cards to show you this morning, you will have seen the photographs in an earlier post.

For this first one, I cut and folded Bazzill to 6x6.
Feathered the photograph  in PSP, printed it in MS Word onto Papermania textured card, cut with Nesties and layered it onto Bazzill, then cut Marianne ivy 4 times, also from Bazzill, and created the frame with it.

For the second one I used green Bazzill cut and folded to A6, with a darker panel embossed with my bamboo folder.
Sunflower photograph treated in the same way as the flutterby one and layered using more Nesties and Bob's yer Uncle, job done :o)

Back to my photographs...

...sorry, I can't stay away from them for long :o)
Good morning Bloggers, I hope all is well in your world, as it is in mine.
I have just ordered my ticket for the Hunkydory Craft Show at Donnington Park in August and I am sooooooooooo looking forward to it :o)
I am off to Byrkley Park this morning to see if I can get some more of the gorgeous Papermania textured card, it's great for printing on.
Anyhow, on to my cards for today, yes, it's a set and they are all pink and white :o)

All the photograph are printed onto pink Bazzill and cut out with Nesties and layered onto red Bazzill. I have also used the same red and pink  Bazzill for the lattice and foliage which was cut with Memory Box, Marianne and Cheery Lynn dies and Leone Em punch. Sentiment stamps are SU :o)

For a lady who is nutty about fire engines

Good morning Bloggers, I hope all is well with you and that you are not in an area of flooding with this incessant rain :o(  I had planned on popping to Belper Riverside Gardens with my cameras today but perhaps it was not one of my better ideas. Methinks I will wait for a few days of dry weather!
Oh well, on to my cards for today. My friend's daughter in law works in the fire service and she is potty about fire engines :o)

I took the photographs in 2008 at a boat rally in Langley Mill Basin.
The flames are PSP tubes

The insert is the same for both cards

Base cards are cream linen card cut and folded to size. The first one is 5x7 and the second one is A6. I hope I haven't overdone the flames :o) The photographs are printed onto Papermania Vanilla cream textured card then cut out with Nesties, and layered with red Bazzill.

A bit of an experiment, set of 6 cards

Good morning Bloggers, it's wonderful to be able to access all parts of my blog thanks to Google Chrome. I downloaded it yesterday and so far it's working beautifully (everything crossed).
My cards this morning are a bit of an experiment, I wanted to see if I could do it and I did, so I'm a happy bunny. They are all A6 and all printed straight onto the Bazzill card :o)

All my own photographs of course. I designed them in MS Word and used the auto shapes for the frames and Papyrus font for the captions. The Amur leopard pic was taken at Twycross Zoo, the killer whale at Sea World Florida, the cars and motor cycle at a 1940s weekend at Butterley Station and you can see where the windsurfing one was taken :o)

Not a photograph in sight

Good morning Bloggers, I hope all is as well as it can be with you.
I thought it was time to give you a rest from my photographs so I made a Christmas card yesterday to share with you, I hope you like it :o)

This is the first airing for  the Marianne border, tree and houses dies, when I cut them I didn't expect to use them all on one card LOL. Other dies used are Marianne  poinsettia, Memory Box corner and Spellbinders label. Punches use are Martha Stewart grass edge and SU oval.
I folded white linen card to A5, cut the corner from white pearl card, the label and poinsettia from Bazzill and the rest from white glittercard :o)

My week is nearly over already BooHoo + a few orang Utans

Good morning everyone. I cannot believe how quickly my week's holiday is flying by. I have spent two days putting flatpacked stuff together and the air has been quite blue over Borrowash! My old computer dest was huge and took up too much space, so off I went on Wednesday morning to Staples and bought a small desk. Got home and put it together, fine, but taking the old desk apart was a nightmare!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never mind, it's done now and I have a lot more space in here. Being a glutton for punishment, I then went out and bought two bookshelf units and a TV stand and yes, they all had to be put together Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Why do I start these things?
Anyhow, enough chat, here are my cards for today, As always I really enjoyed making them and learned that I like printing straight on to Bazzill :o)

All of the photographs are printed onto peach Bazzill, this first one also has a pale peach Bazzill base card which I cut and folded to 6x6

For the other two cards, I cut and folded white linen card to 6x6. The images and mats on them all were cut with nesties and the dies are all Memory Box except the Ivy, which is a Marianne die. I hope you like them :o)

A wonderful day + a simple card

Good morning everyone, what a difference a day makes. Settle down with a cuppa because this is an epic tale :o)
Four of us set off from Derby before 8am yesterday in the lashing gales and rain. We were on route to the wonderful Viv's at Macclesfield for a crafting get together and as we were approaching Leek we came to an abrupt halt because there was a huge tree down across the road! Luckily, there was a right turn just before the blockage so  we took a chance and in less than 5 minutes were were back on the main road past the fallen tree and on our way again.  We were the first to arrive and soon we were all there having our obligatory bacon butties and cuppas. We had friends from Spain, Basingstoke, Liverpool and Chapel-en-le-Frith, altogether 10 crafters and two long suffering males who had driven their respective aunts and wife up for the day.  After the bacon butties, the two men went off for a trip around the peak District in the pouring rain and we ladies set off to C&Js at Edgely for some brilliant retail therapy.
When we got back we had delicious broccoli and stilton soup (made by our friend Pam from Chapel) with cheese covered tiger bread, folled by crackers/cheese and chocolate cupcakes made by our friend Issy from Basingstoke. They survived the 4 hour journey intact but soon disappeared.
Are your mouths watering? Have you fallen asleep yet? :o)
After that it was crafting all the way until dinner. Viv makes a wonderful chinese chicken curry with prawn crackers, and this was followed by sticky toffee pudding and sauce which our good friend Dizzy Di had made and brought with her from Liverpool.
We all thought we had died and gone to heaven :o)
Are you still awake? This morning we have wall to wall sunshine! Believe it or not, I am sharing a card with you today so here it is!

I don't think I could have made it much more simple!
Materials and equipment used are;
Marianne boat die
Nesties
Bazzil and white linen card, gems and cord from stash.

I did put together 6 cards yeaterday for a Christmas card commission, but I had cut out all the bits and pieces at home previously. I am not uploading them because they are the same as my 3 card in an earlier post :o)

One photograph = 6 cards

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well with you and yours.
This is my last day of freedom, I have to go back to work tomorrow. I cannot believe how fast the week has flown by!
On to my cards for today, all made using the same photograph which I took last year at Wollaton Park, Nottingham.

I gave the photograph different frames in PSE 5. The basecards were cut and folded from linen card, one is A6, one is 6x6 and the rest are 7x5. Three of the pics were handcut and the rest cut with nesties and all are matted onto Bazzill. Flourishes, foliage and corners were cut with Memory Box, Cheery Lyn and Provocraft :o)

New nesties

Good morning Bloggers, I hope all is as well as it can be with you. It looks like winter is back now but I don't mind, I am back at work on Monday :o( Never mind, it brings in the pennies to feed my retail therapy habit :o)
On to my card for today. It's the first colouring I have done for a while! Unfortunately I cannot remember whether I stamped this image at a friend's house, or is it a digi image? Perhaps you can help, pretty please, then I can give it the recognition it deserves :o)

Coloured with copics, cut out with my new nesties. The mat is Bazzill and the base card is Coredinations, cut and folded to 7x5. Foliage is from Marianne and the corne is from Memory Boxx. The beautiful brad was part of a Christmas present :o)

Materials and equipment used:
Brown Bazzill cut and folded to 6x6.
Paper is from stash so I don't have a name for it.
Stampendous agapanthus cluster stamped onto inked paper. For the inking I used Colorbox liquid chalk pads that I found in the bottom of a box from years ago.

I hope you like them :o)

Birthday card for a friend

Good morning everyone, I hope the snow has cleared in your area and that you are all warm and well. I still have snow in my garden because I live on the shady side of the street!
On to my card, which is for my very good friend PatEssex on DC. I know she has received it so it's safe to show it LOL.

Of course, it's my own photograph which I took in Bonsall village, Derbyshire,
about 4 years ago.
I cut and folded brown Bazzil to 5x7, my favourite card size.
Photograph is matted onto ivory pearl card.
Flutterbies are SU Emboslits in the same ivory pearl card, as is the Memory Box corner.
Very simple card :o)
