One foxglove photograph, four cards

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all as well as you can be...
A very warm welcome to new follower Sallysbitz2
Methinks I will just skip over the changeable weather today except to say that I can at least function more comfortably now the intense heat has gone for the time being :o)
My cards for today all use the same image, but in different ways.

The first two are A5 and the other two are DL, a size that I have not made for several years, but of course the flower spike lends itself very well to this shape of card.
I took the photograph at Elvaston Castle a couple of weeks ago.
I feathered it in PSP and printed it onto my favourite Papermania textured card. I love the canvas effect that it creates. For the first two I made them into toppers, and then straight onto the card for the other two.
The words are my own, created in Word using Papyrus font for the top two and Vinerhand font for the others. The leaf vine is a Memory Box die cut.

Pages for a change

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world, and if not then I hope it soon will be...hugs
Oh wow, what  storm last night just as I was coming out of work. Thunder, lightening, the rain coming down like stair rods, I got drenched getting the 50 yards to the car, then again in the 5 yards from car into house, but it felt wonderful!
On to my offering for today, a DLO from my trip to Trent Lock a couple of weeks ago :o)

Not much to say about them really, you've seen the photographs, now here are the pages.
I used white DCWV 12x12 card for the background.
Printed the photographs on my favourite Papermania textured card and cut with Nesties and Grand Nesties.
I cut the title with the Cricut but sorry, I can't remember which font I used :o)

Just a simple card

Good morning bloggers, I hope all is well in your world.
Just a quickie this morning, I am off to spend the day with my cousin, including a pub lunch of course, then the evening with my daughter :o)
My card for today is very simple so without more ado, here it is!

My own photograph of course, taken  a few years ago. Printed onto Papermania textured card, sentiment added using Vivaldi font, then cut out with Nesties as is the mat. Both layered onto more PM card folded and cut to 5x7. Pearls from stash :o)

Chalked card

Good morning everyone, what spectacular storms we've had since last night and still here! Thank goodness for the much needed rain and at least it's a tad cooler!
I hope all is well in your world and if not, I hope it soon will be...hugs
May card for today is another simple one.

I folded and cut plain white card to 6x6.
Paper and brown mat from stash.
Stampendous agapanthus stamped with Versamark then chalked, then cut with nesties then a smidgin of gold Glamour Dust added.
Ribbon from stash, in fact everything is from stash :o)

Vive la Froome

Victory in France for Chris
and the boys from Team Sky

What a magnificent win. Who will it be next year, maybe Richie Porte :o)

Sunday 21 July 2013

We've had rain overnight!

Doesn't look like we had much but better than none. We do so desperately need a good downpour.
Trouble is it doesn't feel much cooler! I have to go back to work tomorrow after having 3.5 weeks off so I am not looking forward to it in this heat :o(
It's the last day of the Tour de France today and our boy has done good, I will be watching this evening :o)
My card for today is one a made a few weeks ago. I was given the image, which the customer had commissioned from an artist friend of hers, and asked to make a no frills card with it. This is what I came up with and the customer was delighted, thank goodness.

White linen card folded and cut to 7x5.
Image printed onto my favourite Papermania textured card and cut with Nestie, as is the red mat.  Sentiment is computer generated and cut with a labels die from who know's where! It might be Xcut but not sure :o)

It's those roses again

Good morning everyone, I am not even going to mention the weather!
I hope all is as well as it can be with you...hugs
Busy day for me today. I am off out to lunch somewhere in Duffield with two dear (non crafting) friends. When I get back I will be glued to the Tour de France and when that is done I will be off to my daughter's for a good old tea and chinwagging session. By the time I get back it will be getting on for bedtime LOL.
Anyhow, enough of my chatter, my card for today is another very simple one.

White linen card folded and cut to 7x5.
Own photograph printed onto Papermania textured card, sentiment added using Vivaldi font, then cut with nesties labels 29 (out for their first airing) as is the pink Papermania card mat. Pearls from stash :o)

Same image, two cards

Good morning everyone, I hope that all is well in your world :o)
I know I've said it before, but this heat is laying me low. I am going out for a stroll very early in the mornings to get a bit of air and exercise before the temperature soars yet again then staying in for the rest of the day. At least I have got the Tour de France to watch! Good job I'm on holiday this week as it's awful on the checkouts when it's hot :o(
Anyway, I'm sure you didn't come on here to see me moaning. When the rest of you are moaning cuz it's not warm enough, I am loving it LOL!
Here are my cards for today, I hope you like them :o)

Made both of these just because I wanted to.
For a change, I have used Papermania 5" Kraft card blanks instead of making my own.
I stamped the Stampendous images onto what looks like kraft card but in fact it is cut from foolscap filefolders. My friend gave me a pack of 200, which makes 400 sheets so I think they will last me a little while LOL.
Stamped with Versamark then heat embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Tropic Pearl Lustre and Stampendous detail white respectively. Sentiments are from a set by Creative Time.

Va Va Froome

Well done to Chris Froome and Team Sky

Froome won todays stage, Mont Ventoux, retained the yellow jersey, and won King of the Mountain too. Sending positive vibes for him to win the Tour de France :o)

Christmas in July.

Well I have to do something to try and feel cooler, this heatwave is really taking it out of me!
Good morning everyone, I hope all is as well as it can be in your world...hugs.
Yesterday I was out before 8am, before the heat of the day, having a little hobble round a fairly local lake that I haven't seen before. I keep going out to try my new camera on different settings so I can get used to it :o) After 5pm I went out and found another lake that I had never seen before to do the same. I can't believe there were fairly two local (within about 6 miles) nature reserves that I didn't know were there!
These are Christmas card Nos. 36 and 37 for my own use, but in fact I have also made 52 for orders as well!

Both are white linen card folded and cut to 5x7.
Trees were hand cut from MME Card which I've had for several years.
Sentiment stamp is Penny Black, an old one.
Pearls from stash. Can't make up my mind  whether I prefer it with or without the pearls.
Both are very quick and simple if you want to make batches of the same card :o)

A few pics and an update on camera.

Good morning everyone, I hope all is as well as it can be in your world...hugs
Well I didn't get my camera back so I went out and spent my craft kitty + on a new one. That means no craft shopping for a while! I miss my baby Nikon but methinks I shall do okay with the new Fuji Finepix T500 once I get used to the feel of it. Got to play around with the settings until I hit on the right ones for me.
In the meantime I went back to Trent Lock yesterday with my big Nikon to take pics that I had lost with my little camera! This is just a few of them. Get yourself a cuppa and settle down cuz it's very picture heavy :o)

This old dovecote was there when I was a child, way back in the mists of time!

As you can see, I converted a few to grey scale

No, that's not a ginormous swan, it is a rowing boat LOL.

This is the pub where I left my camera but don't let that put you off if you ever visit Trent Lock, I has a lovely meal there.

I love the reflections and just look at that blue sky, who needs to go to the Mediterranean :o)

A card and a cry on your shoulders

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world. Hugs for those who need them.
I had a lovely afternoon yesterday, went to Trent Lock, took quite a few photographs, went in the pub for late lunch/early dinner and when I got home I found that I had left my camera back at the pub! Luckily it was my little Nikon, not my big one, I picked that one up and brought it home. I rang the pub immediately but of course no-one had seen it!  Oh well, lesson learned, I will have to get my card kitty purse out to get another one, sob.
Onto my card for today, nothing very exciting but it's the first I've made since my shoulder went stupid on me :o)

Made a set of three,  a little surprise present for my cousin. I took the photograph in her kitchen a couple of week ago. The rain had battered them down so her hubby cut them and brought them in. They had only been cut a few minutes.
I feathered the photograph in PSP and added the sentiment in Dauphin font, printed onto Papermania textured card, folded and cut to 7x5 and Bob's yer Uncle, job done :o)

Purple bits and bobs, nothing new

Good morning Bloggers, no doubt most of you are basking in the sun but for me it is too much. Anything over 20 and I am like a limp rag!

I, for one will be glued to the TV screen this afternoon watching our boys in the Tour de France. Did anyone see how Froome and Porte completely took over yesterday? Not a tennis fan but hope that Murray will do well.

Here is another card made before my shoulder decided not to play. Thank goodness I am finally managing to get some crafting in now and will hopefully soon have new ones to show you LOL.
Anyhow, without more ado, here is my card made with bits from the scrap box apart from the base card.

Base card is hammered card from PMS way before the Mansfield shop closed. I found a matching piece in my scrap box just big enough for the Marianne cut and emboss folder, then  layered it onto a piece of mirri card which was just big enough too, then onto the base card.  Flower punched with EK Success and Xcut, spiky leaves punched with McGill and the other leaves are Memory Box die cuts. That's all there is to it, very cheap and very simple :o)

Thank you and a card

Good morning Bloggers, many thanks for all the lovely messages. What a lovely, caring lot you all are :o)
I'm back, hopefully to stay. The doctor has put me off work until the 15th, then I'm on holiday for a week LOL. I have had more time off this year that in my entire working life and I'm not happy about it but I suppose that's what aging does for you! Never mind, the right shoulder was never as bad as the left and is recovering rapidly, thank goodness.
Hopefully I can get some crafting done now, but in the meantime, this is a card I made before my shoulder went daft on me!

Nothing really exciting, but it is, as usual, my own photograph, printed onto white linen card and cut with Grand Nesties, as is the brown mat and the base card, which is approx. 7x5. Sentiment is computer generated using the Dauphin font. A very simple card indeed.
I can't hope to catch up up on everything I have missed but I will do my best over the next few days :o)

P.S. After all the hype about losing our reader lists etc it never happened, so glad I didn't listen and never joined up with any other  lists!

Apologies

Good morning everyone, please accept my apologies for not visiting you blogs recently, I'm afraid that my right shoulder has decided to come out in sympathy with my left now so it is too painful trying to type in much. It takes forever trying to type in one handed and I am finding it very difficult to use the mouse left handed!
Hopefully I will be back sooner rather than later :o)
