Easter # 1...new die

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world and you haven't been too badly affected with snow. My Friend, who live in the Derbyshire Peak district, has been virtually snowed in!...hugs

My card for today is my first Easter card and I really enjoyed using my brand new die for it!

I merged two of my photographs, both taken many years ago, for this one. Many of you will have seen them both in other years. I just love using my duck photograph LOL.

I used my usual whote linen card for the base, folded and cut to 6x6.

My artwork, including the sentiment, was peinted onto the same card, then cut with my new Di-namics stitched die. I do so love this die and this is it's first airing, but it will be used many more times. I have 3 other sets on order, one set coming from the US, so I am waiting with bated breath for them to arrive LOL.

Daffodil stamp is from an old SU set, and I used a copic pen to colour them. They were stamped with Memento London Fog inkpad :o)

For my card this morning I have used another one of my old photographs, sorry to say I can't remember where I took it, but I think it could have been at a garden centre!

Basecard is my usual white linencard folded and cut to 6x6.

Photograph and sentiment printed onto the same card, then cut with Grand Nestie.

Foliage cut with Memory Box die.

That's really all there is to it folks :o)

Christmas 10/11 own photograph

Good morning Bloggers, I hope all is well in your world...hugs for those who need or want them

I can't believe how mild it is out there, although according to the forecasters there is more snow on the way later in the week!

The poinsettia on these cards is my current one which I bought a week before Christmas. I cannot believe it is still going strong because I normally seem to kill all plants off very quickly LOL.

As you can see, the only difference between these two is the mat colours, I think I love the red matted one best!

Base cards are my usual white linencard, folded and cut to 6x6. Photograph printed onto the same linencard, then matted onto Red Papermania textured card gold Kanban textured card.

I will maybe add a smidgin of Glamour Dust when it gets nearer to Christmas :o)

Stop Press!!!

Problem solved. I finally found my original photograph of the flower in the card below. My apologies for saying it was NOT a gerbera, cuz it is. I've slapped my wrist for you LOL.

Added later: Forgot to say that the reason I couldn't remember what it was is because once the edges had gone it didn't look like a gerbera to me LOL.

Unknown flower, open card for any occasion

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world...hugs

On Thursday afternoon, as usual, I set off to do my food shopping and before I got to the supermarket I had bought a new reclining sofa!!! I only went into the store to look and there, right in front of me, was the exact sofa that I wanted, at a very good price,  so I bought it LOL. Delivery is on the 5th Feb. so I am looking forward to being able to relax and ease the pain a bit more than my old sofa allows. I know when I sit on my friend's reclining sofa I am more comfortable that than  on any other :o)

Anyhow, enough waffling from me and on to my card for today!

Not sure whether you would call it sunburst or starburst but I like it whatever it's called LOL.

I'm afraid I don't know what the flower is, but I took the photograph in 2011 at Barnsdale Gardens and I love the colour of it.

I opened it in PSE5 and used the cookie cutter tool to get the effect, one of my favourites.

I cut it, and the mat out with Spellbinders.

Corners cut twice with a very old Provocraft die then I cut it in half (the diecut, not the die).

Basecard is white linencard and the orange card is Papermania textured card.

I really do love this effect and I hope you do too :o)

Thomas the tank engine and a few friends...Christmas # 9

Haven't we had it all in the last few days? Snow, ice, rain, mild, can't make it's mind up!!!

My card for today features Thomas and several friends, another one for the hospital box. Each one is a seperate photograph tubed by PatEssex, my very good friend from DC. Thomas, the chimpanzee and the heron are my own photographs and the rest are Pat's.

Basecard is Papermill white hammered, folded and cut to 6x6.

Computer generated sentiment using Smarty Pants font.

Commissioned sympathy

Good morning Bloggers, I hope all is well in your world...hugs

When I went to work yesterday afternoon I had to defrost the car (teatime) when I left work at 10.25pm, the frost was all gone!!! How changeable our weather is LOL.

My cousin asked me to make her some sympathy cards as she only has one left. I must say it is so much easier to make them when they are not needed! She loves CAS and flowers so these are what I came up with.

Not much to say about them really except that of course, they are my own photographs, played with in PSP7 and PSE 5, and I used Dauphin font for the sentiments :o)

Snowdrop sympathy for the hospital box

Good morning one and all, I hope you are not in the areas which have been hit hardest by the extreme weather conditions, but my thoughts are with you if you are...hugs to everyone.

 In case you are wondering what my hospital box is, my friend is a receptionist at the renal unit and she raises hundreds of pounds for the mobile renal unit every year by selling cards and running two raffles each year, one at Easter and one at Christmas. She raises up to £1ooo twice a year! 100% of the proceeds goes into the fund.

For my card today, I found this photograph in the bottom of one of my bits boxes so I have combined bit's boxes and own pic :o)

I took the pic at Darley Park, Derby, in 2007.

I added a soft frame to it in PSP some time ago, but have just made it into a topper.

Base card is my usual white linencard, folded and cut to 7x5.

Back to my photographs, Christmas 7 and 8

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world and that you haven't been adversely affected by the wild weather...hugs

I am giving the bits boxes a little rest and going back to my photographs for a  while.  I have resurrected some of my old robin photographs, this one being taken at Attenborough Nature Reserve some years ago :)

 Both cards identical except for the matting colour, which I think makes them look quite different!

Base cards are my usual white linencard, folded and cut to 6x6.

I opend the photograph in Photoshop Elements 5 and used the cookie cutter tool twice to create the frame, once as is, then again in red.

Pink poppy birthday

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world...hugs

Thanks to a very kind blogger  who gave me a link, I bid for, and won, (for £8 +P&P) the retired Provocraft Tree set of dies used on my set of CAS tree cards so I will be able to make some more, big thanks to Jocelyn...hugs

My card for today uses only 1 piece from my bits boxes today and that is the image.

I stamped the image way back in the mists of time, and coloured with Sakura Gelly Roll Stardust pens. It's a shame that the shimmer is lost in the pic!

Stamp is a Hampton Arts one called Asian Poppy.

I was lucky enough to find one solitary A5 sheet of Papermania textured card of the right colour  in my stash, so I cut the mat out with Spellbinders and the Memory Box Poppy and Chloe Stem out of it. 

Sentiment stamp is from old Stamps and Smiles set.

Base card is my usual white linen :o)
