Cards for Men #9

Good morning Bloggers, my apologies for not being here, I have had a chest infection and just couldn't sit comfortably at the computer coughing and sneezing!
Anyway, I finally managed to make a card yesterday for the CFM challenge over at
This week's theme is monochrome so I chose browns although it looks like there's some orange and red in the pic, I promise you they are actually browns!
Recipe:
DP is HOTP
Cuttlebugged the pearlised bronze card with Swiss Dots
Image is Funstamps Cricketer Ted
Greeting stamp has no name on it
I have hi-lited the cricket balls with Glossy accents although it doesn't show up much here
Tim Holtz distressing ink walnut stain
Brads from stash and the tag is cut from my new Cricut cart which I got at half price last Sunday :o)

No cards yet but a Fab day yesterday

What a brilliant crafting day we had yesterday :o)
There were 7 of us and we had a great time with fantastic hosts, wonderful food, even more wonderful company and retail therapy too with some great bargains :o)
I haven't got a completed project to show you, we ran out of time, so I will finish it tomorrow (gotta go to work today) all being well then post it on here.
In the meantime, my apologies if I haven't visited your blog for a while, I really am trying to catch up but there is a distinct shortage of hours in the day and days in the week!

Stamp Something-something layered

I hope it has enough layers, 3 counting the DP!
Used my new Peachy Keen stamps which luckily arrived a couple of days before the volcano created havoc with air travel.
Base card is ivory linen. Trees are Petaluma and Penny Black, fruit and faces are Peachy Keen, sentiment is Stampendous. Coloured with copics, watercolour pencils and marveys. DP is from stash and has no name on it. The tiny fruits are shrink plastic and the finished card is sprayed with Crafter's Companion silver spray.

I've been playing again

I have had this template for well more than 2 years and this is it's first airing! If you are interested this is the one I have
Only trouble is that now I have to buy some 7x7 envelopes as the 6x6 is a tad too small and the 8x8 is far too big, so it's off to PDA for me this morning!
Oh well, I have to replenish my stock of some of the other sizes too. I hope to get out of there with envelopes only but no doubt I am sure to see something I "must have" :o)
The outside of this is Bazzill Basics and the rest is MME which is only 1 sided, so I have distressed the plain side and stamped all over so that there is no white showing when the flower is open. All stamps used are SU although you can't see them here!
Ooooooooops! Just noticed that I have taken the pic with the centre sentiment upside down :o)

Cards for Men #8 - fancy folds

My second post today already :o)
I seem to be having trouble publishing comments this morning, I've had 3 and they aren't showing!
It had to be any but the normal single fold so mine is an easel card :o)
DP from stash, sorry no name on it. Stamps are from Papermania It's a Man's World set coloured with copics. That's it, very simple :o)

Winter Wonderland-embossed card

Good morning everyone, wall to wall sunshine here again today :o)
This is my entry for the embossed card over at http://christmasblogchallenge.blogspot.com/2010/04/embossed-card.html
I really enjoyed making this one.
DP is from J&P Pictures, gold textured and ivory pearlised cards were used for the squares which in turn were Cuttlebug embossed. Craft UK stamped image is coloured with copics and cut out with nesties. The whole card is sprayed with Crafters Companion gold spray but doesn't show up in the picture! :o)

I've been playing again

This is my first and last sidestepper card!
I've been meaning to make one for ages now and finally I did it. Didn't enjoy making it and won't make another but at least I can say "I did it" :o)
I wanted a box that would house a set of 4x4 cards and envelopes and here it is. Made it with Bazzill which was a mistake but I've learned from it! Bazzill isn't thick enough for a box of this size so mental note to self "use stronger card next time". Still, methinks it's pretty enough so I will find something to keep in it for myself :o)

And now for something different

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all well :o)
We had a get together at a friend's house Easter Monday and she showed us how to make these little boxes for Easter eggs.
Well of course Easter is behind us now so what to put in the box, I asked myself. Gift tags was the reply! I made it as a little birthday gift for a band member who I know will love it because she thinks that everything I do is perfect! Oh what it is to have a friend that sees everything through rose coloured spectacles :o)

New Sizzix die bargain

Good morning Bloggers :o)
Last week I paid a visit to Craft Central to get some storage boxes and saw this large Sizzix die marked up at £9.99 so I grabbed it quick. I knew they were supposed to be well more than that!
When I got it to the till it scanned at £13.99 so I told her I didn't want it at that price and to cut a long story short they let me have it at the marked price and it turned out that whoever priced them had done it wrong so they then went and changed them to the correct price! How lucky was that then? :o)
I punched this one from rainbow vellum and the orange one from paper in my stash. Both are sprayed with Crafters Companion glitter spray.
Of course, I had to incorporate Martha Stewart yet again and Nesties :o)
