Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturdays - Get punchy

Made this afternoon for a friend's birthday and then I realised that it was just right for the Get punchy challenge at Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturdays

I have used 5 punches, 2 x Martha Stewart, an Xcut, a Leone-Em and a McGill.
Base card is pearlised off white from stash, as is the brown card and the creamy white pearlised paper. I did a little dab of stickles in the flower centre.

P.S. I forgot to say that the mat is done with embossing folder Sun Rays from Craft Concepts :o)

Some awards and an apology...

... to the lovely crafters who have given them to me because it has taken me ages to get myself together to think of things to say about myself and get them posted.
Add to that the fact that I have just done all this once then pressed the wrong key and hey presto! It all disappeared :o(
Get yourselves a cuppa and relax because this is going to be a long post :o)

This fab Stylish blogger award was given to me by the lovely Doreen as long as 3 weeks ago, hence the apology in the title.

To accept this award I have to say 8 things about myself which is why it's taken me so long!

1.     The day before Christmas Eve I was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid so I have now become a regular pill popper for the first time in my life!
2.     I was born during WW2
3.     I make lists for anything and everything, then I lose them.
4.     Forensic science fascinates me
5.     I have a passion for flowers and indeed, in the late 1950s I trained as a florist
6.     I have sticky notes on my monitor reminding me of things I need to do
7.     At nearly 70, I was recently invited out "for a drink" by a man, I said thank you but no thank you :o)
8.     Last week I bought SCAL software for my Cricut and I love it, can't leave it alone!

This second award was givem to me by the lovely Donna
I also have to say things about myself for this one so they are included in the above list :o)

This one comes from 2 lovely ladies Christine and Elizabeth

There are a couple of conditions for the award which I have lifted from Christine's blog.

You have been TAGGED and want to participate? Then create a post where you post the 'LOVE BLOG' image. You should also blog the persons link that gave you the award and inform her/him that you accept the award. You can then choose 3 - 5 favourite blogs which you also link in your post, then each blogger will inform you that they have been tagged
Dear bloggers:

The aim of this action is that we bring unknown, good blogs to light,

so I would ask you not to blog fellow bloggers that already have 3,000 followers.

This is the hard part passing it on as ALL you fellow crafting bloggers

deserve this award but rules is rules & I am passing this onto....

I hope that I have remembered everything I have to do to accept these awards and that I haven't put you to sleep with my monologue :o)

Flutterby Wednesday #139 - white on white

Wow, I've actually made a challenge card, only my second this year :o)
I made it for Flutterby Wednesday #139 white on white except for the main image.

All materials are from my stash but I've used my new embossing folder and a free SVG flutterby from the lovely Penny Duncan

Flower and leaves are punched. Flutterby is sprayed with CC gold spray

First SCAL card

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well with you :o)

Well, what a start to my day! I got up at 6am to get myself in the shower as I had a ten past eight appointment for my NHS check. Ten minutes before setting off the 'phone rang and it was the surgery saying that my appointment was postponed until February because the nurse was sick grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr  I could have had another hour in bed!
Anyway, I digress. I have spent 3 days playing with my new SCAL software, updating my old Cricut to suit it and here is the fruit of my labours!
Frame and large flutterby cut with SCAL, said flutterby being a free svg from Penny Duncan. The other flutterbies are from Martha Stewart punches and all are cut/punched from MME card. Flower stamp is from Funstamps and they are coloured with copics, HOTP paper and ribbon from stash, the paper being embossed with C/bug embossing folder.
I am now going to celebrate by going to George's Tradition for a fish salad :o)

6x6 canvasses

These are canvasses that I did for Sian and they are hanging on her bedroom wall. The photograph is of her holding a photgraph of herself as a baby :o)

The photograph below is my favourite one of her when she was little. I took it at Byrkley Park garden centre in Staffordshire

I have to get some card orders done very soon but at the moment I am familiarising myself with SCAL and svg files. I have finally managed to cut something out with it so
watch this space :o)

No cards so more pages...

... of Granddaughter Sian. She was 16 here.

I created these pages a couple of years ago and as I said previously, I really must get back to scrapbooking!

In the top photograph were were luching in the Gingerbread Shop in Ashbourne, the seconed one was at Elvaston Castle.
I have just bought SCAL, so some serious learning and playing will be in progress over the weekend :o)

A card + new goodies

Good morning everyone. What a beautiful morning it is with wall to wall blue sky and sunshine. I am keeping my eyes averted from my car sitting outside covered in thick frost, which I have to scrape off to go to Long Eaton soon brrrrrrrrrr.

I actually made two cards on my craft day with friends, but I can't show the other one yet as the recipient to be will see it! This one has an LOTV image, a band punched with MS edge punch, and a nestie mat. I borrowed the Elzybells sentiment stamp.

Of course, we never have a craft day without retail therapy and this is what I bought. The little pot is Cosmic Shimmer embossing powder and it looks fantastic on a card :o)
I have to do my card  orders before I get cracking on the challenge cards again!

No cards yet so a scrapbook page to be going on with

I created this page in 2006 when Granddaughter Sian was 15. She was 19 last week and it reminded me that I still haven't finished her scrapbook which I started all that time ago! T

In those days she was very Goth, but she has now become a very feminine young lady :o)
Tomorrow I am off to Macclesfield for a fab crafting day with my friend Viv, not sure who else is going to be there but it will be a lovely surprise :o)

Commissioned animal + humourous

Good morning bloggers, here's a few more made using my own photographs. The customer wanted animals and a bit of humour so I hope one of these will fit the bill! I made 4 to give her a choice, the rest can go into my box :o)

All of the photographs I took at Twycross Zoo at various times of the year.

Commissioned cards

The first is for a lady who likes to garden, likes to sit in her garden having a drink and loves to shop so I have tried incorporating something for each :o)

Paper and ribbon from stash, own photograph, I stamped the image at a friend's crafting get together and I think it's Sugar Nellie Shopaholic, coloured with a mixture of copics and promarkers. Computer generated sentiments.

For this one I have used a topper from J&P man CD (topper created from my own photograph) and added a Funstamps image, also coloured with copics/promarkers.
Both cards are A5 and I do hope the recipients like them:o)

I finally made a couple of cards

Good morning all you lovely people and thank you so much for your well wishes. I am feeling so much better this morning. It turns out that it's a viral infection I have, not a chest infection after all!
Anyway, these are my very first cards made this year.

This is a first outing for my new Hero Arts stamp bought some time in December and I thought it would make a nice 'thinking of you' card. Methinks it is a very versatile stamp and could be used for many and varied occasions. I chose this time to heat emboss it and I think it's quite effective.
Ooops! Nearly forgot to say that this is also a first airing for this set of Nellie Snellen dies so this is a card of firsts :o)

This one is a commissioned new baby card for one of our band members who is about to become a Greatgranny for the first time. She liked those other baby cards I made (scroll down to see them) but she didn't want "those cartoon things" (that's what she calls stamped images) for the main image so I used my own photograph of my Greatgrandson's feet. Background stamps are from Woodware. I hope she likes it!

I have covered the text inside for privacy.
First use of the Martha Stewart edge punch I bought last week :o)

Still no cards...

... so here's a couple of winter visitors to my garden to be going on with :o)

Bless you all and thank you for your good wishes, I am feeling a tad better this morning but it is slow going. I am a bad patient, not used to being ill, so I appreciate a bit more how awful it is for those of you who are not in the best of health :o)

No cards yet so a bit of retail therapy

Good morning everyone :o)
Sorry I've not been up to crafting with this infernal chest infection but hopefully I'll get to use my new stash bought at Craft Central last Thursday!

I don't think I've ever gone so long using new stuff before and it's bugging me :o(
I got 40 sheets of the A4 white card. It's fairly smooth and feels like about 300 gsm so it will be great for card blanks. The little pot is silver embossing powder, the rest needs no explanation :o)

FAO Leliza1

Hi Laura, I cannot access your blog so I cannot give you the information you want any other way so I hope you see this :o)
The rubber stamp you asked about is from Papermania and it is called
PMA 9082901 Bauble Decoration - K
It is a very large woodmounted stamp but I don't know if it is still available now that Christmas is gone!

First Christmas card order of 2011

Yes, you read that right. My friend asked me to design a simple flat card for next Christmas! These are the samples I have made for her to choose from :o)

As you can see with the above cards, I have made a silver/white one and a gold/cream one of each as she couldn't make up her mind which she would prefer. All are heat embossed directly onto the card base :o)

These two are one offs in silver/white.
The first being the only one which is matted and layered.

I hope you haven't nodded off yet because I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your wonderful comments and support over the last year, and wish everyone a Happy and Healthy New Year :o)
Now I am going to dose myself up and try and get rid of this nasty cough and cold I seem to have developed since getting home from work yesterday!
