Sudbury Hall, it's all about the ceilings

Good morning Bloggers, I can't believe it's nearly a week since I last posted. Unfortunately life sometimes gets in the way, and the blog has to take a back seat!
I have already bought my Christmas present to me, a 6 month subscription to Find my Past, in the hope that I can tie up a few loose ends in my research, which has been neglected for too long. I aim to get back into it though. The daft thing is, I have found more for a friend than for me so far!!!!!
Anyhow, on to my photographs for today which I took at Sudbury Hall last month. It has the most glorious ceilings there, they are a wonderful sight to behold. It would have been wonderful if I could have laid flat on the floor to take the pics of them, but then I would have needed a crane to get me up again LOL.
I warn you it is picture heavy so you might like to get a cuppa and settle down comfortably!

I hope you have enjoyed my little tour of Sudbury Hall, Derbyshire. It really is well worth a visit if you are near enough :o)

I have been known to lay on the floor to look at ceilings! It's not very dignified but saves me getting dizzy. Love the photos hun, what a gorgeous house! Thanks for sharing. Hugs Sxx

Wow - beautiful. Your photography is fantastic. I've tried doing our family tree, but cannot even get past my grandparents on both sides - something weird in my family cause it's all a bit cloak and dagger stuff!!

Some lovely photograph Jackie, it never fails to amaze me how intricate the work is on the ceilings of some of our historical buildings and I always marvel at the hours and hours it must have taken.

I don't know if you've ever been to the Sistine Chapel but it's one of the most magnificent I've ever seen.

Fab pics Jackie - I subscribe to every genealogy site known to man!!! There's not enough hours in the day - and one or two of my 6x ancestors are now proving elusive and frustrating!

A again, thanking for taking me on your trip. I was able to use ancestory .com and followed two families back from a ship that came in from England and Switzerland/Germany area. I'm mostly English. I don't know how to follow once I'm in England. But, that's we're my roots are. It seems I come from humble beginnings so I properly find slim Pickens in history.
