Last card of 2013

Good evening everyone, I hope you are all going to have a wonderful time seeing in the New Year. For myself, I have no doubt that by the time the bells start ringing and the fireworks start banging, I will be zonked out on the settee, I can never stay awake long enough LOL.
It's not like me to post anything in the evening, but as this is my last card for 2013, I didn't want post it in 2014!

I was asked by someone to recreate this card, I made the original in 2010 for my friend's anniversary and blogged it then. The only difference this time is the papers, after all that time I hadn't got any of the originals left! I hope the person who requested it pops in so they can see if it is what they want :o)

I folded and cut white linen card to approx. 6x6.
Papers are from J&P.
Image is a Karen's Doodles digi which I bought 3 years ago. Coloured with copics, (this is my first colouring for many months) then hand cut.
Trellis band punched with Martha Stewart.
Nesties used for the image backing.
White pearls coloured with copics.
Sentiment is from an ancient Woodware word set :o)

Spotty flower card

Good morning everyone on this very frosty start to Sunday. I hope you are all well or getting there...hugs.
I hope that 2014 brings everyone good health and happiness.
Stephen had a lovely surprise from the taxman, a nice fat refund of several hundred pounds, what a wonderful Christmas present for him. Had to chuckle though, he received the refund one day then the next day a letter saying he would be getting it! :o)
Right, onto my card for today!

White PMS hammered card folded and cut to 7x5 then layered with green card and white pearlised card embossed with Embossalicious A4 folder.
Cheery Lynn lattice also cut from the same pearlised card.
Leaves cut with my new Memory Box die.
Flower punched with McGill from MME paper and finished off with brad from stash topped with a tiny dragonfly punched with Xcut :o)

Glittery poppies

Good morning everyone. I hope all is well in your world and that you are safe from these awful weather conditions...hugs
Did you all have a wonderful Christmas with your loved ones? I had a very quiet and restful one, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I spent some time Christmas morning with my grandson Ben and great-grandson Ryan, then onto my daughter Susan's to spend time with her and her partner Rob, and granddaughter Sian, then home to cook lunch and spend the rest of the day with Stephen :o)

On to my card for today. Not too sure about those glittery poppies but heyho, we can't win 'em all LOL.

I folded and cut PMS white hammered card to 6x6.
Memory Box poppies cut from plain green card and red glitter card.
Although it looks coppery here, the background pointy Nestie circle is gold mirri card.
Cheery Lynn trellis is framed with Nestie plain circles.
White pearls coloured with copic pen :o)

Last Christmas cards for 2013.....

I have already made my first Christmas card for 2014 and have half a dozen left from this year :o)

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world...hugs.

Stephen's hospital appointment went very well. They were very impressed with his progress. He wouldn't get into a wheelchair, he walked to the department which was a good 300 yards! Methinks we won't be asking for transport again though. Waiting for the ambulance to bring us home was interminable, so I will take him myself next time!

Anyhow, on to my cards for today.

All dies used are Memory Box.
Paper used on first card is MME, and on the others it's from J&P Pictures.
Heat embossed banner/sentiment on first card is from a Papermania stamp set. Sentiments on the other two are computer generated.

As I am now approaching 73 I had to apply to renew my driving licence so I went on line Monday of last week and the licence arrive on the Friday, how's that for a quick turnaround?

8x8 card for a friend

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all well or getting there, and ready for the big day...hugs

This has to be a quickie as Stephen has his first hospital appointment since coming home and as he can't communicate very well they have asked me to go with him so that I can explain his limitations etc. After that he will be on his own. They will be sending transport plus an escort so we have to be ready at least an hour and a half before the appointment time!

Anyhow, here is my card for today which is my first birthday card for January.

It's safe to show it as she isn't a blogger.
8x8 card blank from Papermania, covered with white pearlised card embossed with Embossalicious A4 folder.
I swiped different coloured Memento dewdrop inkpads across plain white card then stamped with Lindsay Mason and Lavinia stamps then added a smidgin of Glamour dust and layered onto pewter textured card from PDA. Nothing new was used in the making of this card :o)

Playing with my new dies

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all well or getting there...hugs
Great news about Stephen. Yesterday afternoon, he went out for a little walk by himself. He has previously only been out with supervision (physiotherapist). He was only out for nearly 15 minutes but that must have boosted his confidence tremendously :o) It is still very painful for him to walk and he still gets a bit breathless, but things are looking up for him.
Must say that I was on edge until he got back safely!

And now,  my card for today!

PMS white hammered card folded and cut to 6x6.
Paper is from J&P Pictures.
Glittercard from The Range, cut with Memory Box dies.
Sentiment is from ancient Woodware word set.
That's all there is to it :o)

The other 5 of the 7 embossed cards I made a couple of weeks ago

Good morning everyone, I hope all is as well as it can be with you...hugs
Thank you for all of your kind wishes for my shoulder, which continues giving me some grief, but at least unlike earlier in the year I can still drive so I don't need to be off work! For those who asked, punching all those leaves for the wreath card didn't bother my shoulder at all, I punched them on the floor with my heel LOL.

Anyhow, enough of my waffling, here are the cards.

All base cards are PMS hammered white folded and cut to 7x5.
All embossed panels are white pearlised card.
Various makes of embossing folders were used, sorry, can't remember them all.
Spellbinder, Marianne and Memory Box dies were used.
Mats are red and green mirri card, gold and silver textured card.
All materials are from stash, nothing new was used in the making of these cards :o)

8x8 Christmas wreath card

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all well or getting there...hugs
At our Friday evening crafty get together I saw one of my friends making a Christmas wreath and decided that it was time I had a try. This is the result, I hope you like it :o)

It took forever to make the wreath but I am happy with it. It is 6" across and seems to sit nicely within the embossed frame!
The card is from a Papermania pack . 8x8 is the only size that I buy pre-scored, I usually make my own!
For the wreath, I cut a circle from plain white card using the two largest of my nestie circles.
Then comes the tedious bit, punching all the leaves! Pine type leaves cut with McGill punch and holly leave with a Personal Impressions punch. Berries are whit pearls coloured with copic pen :o)

The last of my penguins and robins for this year

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well or getting there in your world...hugs
Thank you for your good wishes for my shoulders, they are much improved.
I was unable to comment yesterday as my internet was down all morning, so hopefully I will catch up today!
As the title says, these are the last of my penguins and robins for this year, no doubt they will be out again for next year unless I can take any different pics LOL.
So without more ado, here they are :o)

As you can see, there are 2 6x6 and 2 7x5.
No new materials were used in the making of these cards, everything from stash.
All dies used are Nestabilities and all embossing folders used are M-bossabilty and Embossalicious.
Of course the photographs are my own :o)

Playing about

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world...hugs

My shoulders have been acting up again now for a couple of weeks but there we go, we have to take the rough with the smooth don't we!
Yesterday Stephen surprised me by appearing in the sitting room having come down the stairs without supervision for the first time :o)

A few weeks ago whilst visiting The Silver Scrapper's blog I was very taken by one of her techniques so I finally got around to having a go. You can see how to do it here.
Unfortunately my effort is not as good as Elizabeth's but they do say practice makes perfect so I will be trying again :o)

So here it is.

It is a small (A6) card, which I don't make very often.
PMS white hammered card folded and cut to A6.
I used 3 colours of Memento dewdrop ink pads on a plain white card scrap then stamped and cut with Nestie and layered onto gold textured card. Flutterby cut with Memory Box dies from same gold card. That's all there is to it :o)

Emboss and diecut cards

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world...hugs
I was having a look through my (many) smaller embossing folder the other day and decided it was about time I used them again. Here are 2 of the 7 cards I made. All were very simple but that's what I like :o)

White & Silver, white & gold, I love these two combinations.
When I moved my craftroom, I discovered a whole box full of  Paper Mill Shop (before they all closed) hammered white and another box full of their hammered ivory, so I decided it's time to use them before I buy any more linen card!
Both base cards are folded and cut to 7x5.
I also found my (lost) solver and gold textured card so I have used them here too.
Embossed panels are white pearlised card which I bought from Donnington last year.
Leaping deer is Memory Box die cut and Tree  is a Marianne die cut.
The sentiment is from and ancient Woodware word stamp set :o)

Last of my freebie PD images

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all well or getting there...hugs
I cannot believe how manic food shopping is becoming and there's another 3 weeks to Christmas yet!!!!! The customers are spending a fortune (not that I am grumbling, it pays my wages) so it's difficult to believe there isn't much money around!
Anyhow, on to my cards for today. They are the last of the public domain freebies that I downloaded.  All card used is from stash.

Although they look black and white here, they are both sepia.
This one is ivory linen card folded and cut to 7x5. Image printed onto Papermania vanilla textured card then layered onto brown card. Tree is Marianne diecut.

This one is vanilla Papermania textured card folded and cut to 7x5. Other details the same except for the Memory Box diecut corner and the main image has a fine sprinkling of Glamour Dust. Greeting on both is from an ancient set of Woodware word stamps :o)

Another fun Santa

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all well or getting there...hugs
I can't believe that it is December already! Appropriately it is frosty outside but I am warm and cosy inside.

I've got my PC back Whooppeeeeeeeee. It only cost £32.65 and nothing lost, so I still have my beloved XP. The fan had accumulated more than 6 years worth of dust and burnt the motor out. It's like having an old friend returned :o) Now that I have got it back, I have set up the laptop in the craft room as it used to be, and decided to give my old HP printer another try, and it worked so I don't need to get rid of all those ink cartridges after all. I am so glad I had no requests for them when I advertised them for sale :o)

Anyhow, on to my card for today, it's another of those free PD Santas.

No new materials were used in the making this card, everything is from stash apart from the Santa image.
Red card folded and cut to 6x6.
White pearlised card embossed with A4 M-bossability folder.
Santa and own sentiment printed onto White Papermania textured card, cut with Nesties then chalked and attached with sticky foam pads. Simple as that :o)

I just had to show you these wonderful sunsets, taken with my phone at 4.10pm as I was going in to work last night.

Two from J&P Pictures

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well with you or getting there...hugs
A few of you may remember when I was half of J&P Pictures, it seems a long time ago now but I still have all the images we ever produced from our photographs, so I dug them out and these are two of them .

Base cards are Paper Mill Shop hammered white from stash, folded and cut to 7x5. Images printed onto Papermania textured card. The little snowman in the blue bauble is a candle that I took a photograph of many years ago. The tree is a Memory Box die and the stars are diecuts also, but I can't remember what name cuz I forgot to save the packaging. The dies are green if anyone knows them, the rest in the set are pine trees :o)

Just a little bit of fun

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well with you, or at least improving...hugs
Squirrel, I do hope that Vince wees soon so that you can both lower your stress levels...hugs
No word on my PC yet, still having to use this infernal laptop which has a screen less than half the size of my PC monitor, but at least typing is easier now cuz I bought a keyboard for it. 'Twas only a fiver from a well known supermarket and is a godsend!
Anyhow, onto my card for today. Just a bit of fun with another Googled PD image.

I just had to use this Santa when I saw it, I knew what I wanted to do immediately I laid eyes on it LOL.
All card used is Papermania textured card. I added the words and speech bubble and printed in Word, then cut with Grand Nesties. I hope it makes you smile :o)

Something different for me, I cheated! I

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all well or getting there...hugs
Oh woe is me, my beloved PC has died :o( I have had to dig out the laptop and I don't like it. It has Windows 7 on it and I love XP, which I have on my PC! I have taken it to the PC doctor but he has a 4 day queue so it won't be looked at until next week and by then this laptop will have driven me crazy. Thank goodness I never save anything to the computer, I always work from external hard drives so my 20,000+ photographs are safe...phew!!!
The only thing I have lost is my email addies, so I will have to wait to get emails from folks who I normally email because I can't remember them all!!!!!
Anyhow, I must stop waffling and get to my cards for today, which is where the cheating in the title comes in. I was idly googling the other day for free public domain Santa images and found a few that I liked so here are the first ones.

of course I had to add my Marianne diecut tree to the first one and my  Memory Box deer to the second one

For the second two I opened them in PSP and again I added MB deer and winter tree diecuts.
I am quite pleased with the results :o)

Finally, the last of my commissioned cards

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well with you...hugs
Did you get awful weather yesterday? We had horizontal sleet, wild & windy, brilliant sunshine and anything else you can name thrown at us here in the Midlands!
On to the rest of my cousin's commission, I can only show Nos 6 and 7 today as the recipient for No 8 is likely to see his.

You have seen a very similar one to this  earlier but this one is personalised. All materials from stash and the dies are Memory Box.

A memory Box die again for this one. Liam's photograph courtesy of his Grandma (my cousin) and the Lotus photograph was taken by my very good friend PatEssex (Docrafts) and is printed as always on Papermania textured card. Once again, all materials from stash.
No. 8 has my little penguin on it, that's all I can say :o)

Numbers 3, 4 and 5 of my 8 card commission

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all keeping warm we have quite a thick frost here in the Midlands Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr! I am on holiday this week so taking it easy :o)
My cards for today are as it says in the title and my cousin is delighted with all of them including the ones you haven't seen yet LOL.
So without more ado, here they are.

All three are printed onto my favourite Papermania textured card and I've used the Dauphin font for the sentiments. Memory Box tree and corner dies used and a holly punch from ? All my own photographs except the reindeer which was taken by my very good friend PatEssex who is a Docrafter :o)

2nd of 8 card commission

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all well or getting there...hugs
It feels quite mild this morning, although I haven't yet been outside!
Welcome to new follower Chris Carter :o)

My cousin gave me a photograph and asked if I could make a very CAS 80th birthday card for her BiL. This is the photograph!

OMG, I am not very good at cleaning old pics up but I decided to have a go and this is the result

I am fairly pleased with myself LOL. What a good looking 13 year old he was!
I printed the photograph and sentiment onto Papermania Vanilla textured card and layered it onto brown Papermill Shop card. Base card is the same Vanilla PM textured card folded and cut to 7x5.
Here is the inside

I Googled famous births in 1933 and these are just a few of them :o)

Commissioned diamond anniversary card

Good morning Bloggers, I hope you are all well or getting there...hugs

Stephen continues to do well and has managed, with the aid of his physiotherapist, to walk all the way down the street (about 200 yards). He can't do it on his own but it will come :o)

Oh my! what a wild day it looks out there but at least the overnight rain has gone away!
My cousin has asked me to make her some cards, 6 x Christmas, 1 x 80th birthday and 1 x diamond anniversary and this is the first of them. She likes CAS cards and they have to be fairly flat for posting.

I used Paper Mill Shop (from before the shops closed) hammered white card folded and cut to 6x6. Front panel is pearlised white card embossed with A4 Embossability folder.
Words and date printed onto Papermania textured card then punched with Woodware and SU punches. Leaf vine is from Memory Box and cut from grey Papermania :o)

Back to Christmas

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well with you or getting there...hugs
It seems very mild at the moment, but I have not ventured out yet to see properly, Two days ago we had thick frost and then a glorious sunshiny day, from yesterday it has been grey and raining, we never know how to dress!!!!!!!!
On to my card for today, another very simple one for Christmas.

I used plain white card folded and cut to 6x6. The front is white pearlised card embossed with Embossalicious folder then layered onto card.
Bauble cut with Memory Box dies from red mirri and white glittercard, then attached using sticky foam pads, as is the tag which has been cut with Nestie and inked, stamp is an old one from Stamps and Smiles. Everything used is from stash :o)

An apple a day.....

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world on this lovely morning. "They" do say that it's going to be a nice day...hugs
I have two very simple cards for you this morning, both for the box so without more ado, here they are.

I took the photograph of the apple many moons ago, along with other fruits, for a CD of jam/fruit labels, but only ever sold one to the lady who had commissioned the CD LOL.
A couple or more years ago I created templates in Word and promptly forgot about them LOL.  Having rediscovered them, methinks I may have a go at using them! This square is one of them!
I printed them onto my favourite Papermania textured card then folded and cut to size.
Sentiment added and printed in Word using Dauphin font :o)

Snow scene + printer carts

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all well or getting there...hugs

Do you have an HP printer? Does it take cart 56 (black) and cart 57 (colour)? I have 2 double packs and 1 single pack of 57, and 2 double packs of 56 going cheap as my ancient HP has gone to printer heaven. Double packs are £10 each and single packs £5 each. These are genuine HP carts. I also have a single pack 58 for £5. Sorry I will only post to GB addresses!

And now, onto my card for today :o)

I saw something similar to this on DC but sorry to say I can't remember whose gallery it was! This is my take on it.
Dark blue card from stash folded and cut to 6x6.
Layered pale blue from stash onto top half.
All dies used are Memory Box. Glitter card and ribbon from stash :o)

Not a Christmas card in sight...

...but this set of notecards is a Christmas present for my dear (non crafting) friend Jean, she loves the one layer CAS cards.

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world or soon will be...hugs
Last night when I came out of work I had to scrape the car windows Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I don't mind the cold but I don't like having to scrape before I can get home for a cuppa after work. This morning it's raining and mild. We just don't know whether to dress for Autumn or Winter!!!

Anyhow, on to today's offering which is a set of 10 :o)

As you can see, they are very simple cards, which is how Jean loves them.
All my own photographs of course, feathered in PSP then printed straight onto A5 Papermania Textured card, which was then folded to A6. The inserts each have the same image as on the fronts :o)

Back to my little robin

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all well or getting there...hugs

Stephen continues to do well, he is able to get up and down the stairs although it is very painful for him. He is even managing to get into those troublesome tablet bubble packs with his one good hand now. Alas, he still cannot put sentences together but he is managing more words each day. I have now been approved as his appointee so have been able to apply for his benefits, let's see how long they take to come through!

I couldn't help myself, I love making cards with my little robin photographs, they are the epitome of Christmas to me, so here is one of them once again :o)

My usual white linen card folded and cut to 7x5.
I make no apology for using this embossing folder once again, I just love it and because it's A4 I can get 2 cards from it!
Robin is printed onto my favourite Papermania textured card as always, then cut with nestie bauble die.
Words from an old SeeDs stamp set :o)

I seem to be in white mode

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world or getting there...hugs
Did you get that frost? It was quite a good one here so hopefully the Autumn colours will become more vibrant now!

Stephen continues to do well, he has such determination.

I am obviously going through a white phase at the moment and here is another one LOL.

I've had this snow village embossing folder for a few years now and it continues to be one of my favourites. I think it is a Cuttlebug folder. The deer is a Memory Box die and the greeting is an ancient one from a Stamps and Smiles set. As usual the size is 7x5 :o)

Definitely not a robin

Good morning everyone, I hope you missed the worst of the big storm. We were very lucky here in Derbyshire because it wasn't nearly as bad as forecast, thank goodness!
Well I promised no more robins for a wee while so here is a penguin for a change. I took this photograph a few years ago at Twycross Zoo :o)

White linen card folded and cut to 7x5.
I used my A4 Embossalicious folder on white pearlised card for the backing, then lightly chalked it. Penguin photograph printed onto Papermania textured card then cut with Nestie. Words are from an old SeeDs stamp set :o)
