Photographs

Good evening everyone, I hope you are all well and safe after the almighty stormwe had...hugs

I am very late today, although I don't usually post on Mondays and I am usually at work, but I have a whole week off Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
My car went in for service this morning and was returned to me by lunchtime :o)
Anyhow, I digress! I went for a little shuffle round St Chad's Water, Wilne, on Friday afternoon and I was lucky enough to get some shots of damsel flies with my new camera. Oh how I love that camera :o) They are so difficult to take pics of because they dart about like lightening!

These are the best two pics that I managed to get, the rest were very blurry!
What a wonderful colour they are, especially when the sun is shining on them.

This is St Chad's Water, it is a small nature reserve and so peaceful and tranquil :o)

That camera certainly gives you super clear shots Jackie, but my little Canon to shame. Damsel flies are pretty, we get quite a few around the garden, probably the ponds that draw them.

Enjoy your week off work.

Great photos, Jackie. I've not heard of St Chads - will have to look up where it is to see if we are close enough for a visit. Damselflies are such beautiful creatures. My favourites are the emerald ones. They always remind me of a poem called Silent Noon by Dante Gabriel Rosetti. There is a line that says 'a dragonfly hangs like a blue thread loosened from the sky' I think he must have meant a damselfly as they are the right colour!
