Peachy Keen #23

It has to be green and yellow, have a stamped image and something must be 3D and I decided to do a 12x12 scrapbook page using my daffodil pics just to remind us that Spring is on the way even if it doesn't seem like it at the moment.
I've used Bazzill for the base and the dark green is from PMS
Daffodil image is from SU and coloured with copics and I printed Wordsworth's poem in
MS Word, Kirsten font. All daffodil images are popped with sticky foam pads.
As you can see I have used nesties and sizzix dies and the Cricut to cut the title, plus MS doily lace puch. DPs are from J&P and K&Co :o)

What a session!

I went into the craftroom yesterday and after 3 hours this is all I came out with. The rest went into the bin!
I had decided to try making my own aperture card using nesties (never made one before). The first one slipped as I put it through the rollers and I can tell you that a leaning oval looks daft so it went into the bin (Note to self; use a round or square nestie next time). The second one was a bit better but still not right but I thought that I would be able to do something with it. I tried to do a chalked/sponged/stamped scene inside but that ended up in the bin as well. By this time I am pulling my hair out and decided the third one would be my last of the session before I threw the lot out of the window arghhhhhhhhh.
This is the third attempt and although it could be better I am fairly pleased with it. This time, I stamped an SU image onto the bit out of the middle, coloured with copics, then sponged. I really do need to practice sponging. I found my Tapestry stamps in the bottom of a box so gave them an airing for the frame, methinks I will use them on the envelope too when I get around to it :o)

Simple Christmas cards

I was on a roll on Thursday and in Christmas mode so I made 10 simple cards for my box :o)

All are variations on these two themes so not putting the rest on. Don't want to bore you to tears :o)
I cut and folded linen card to A6, not a size I work with very much. All are SU stamps and sentiments straight onto the card with a few bits added. I am still learning on the sponging so sometime just a tad heavyhanded!

Thjis is what I woke up to this morning...

...Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Thank goodness it seems to have started thawing but more snow promised then freezing later. It looks like I will have to try and put up with a crafting day today!
Stay warm and safe everyone :o)

A few more cards

I was on a roll yesterday and really enjoyed myself making these :o) All the topper and DP images are from my own photographs and Pat tubed the ladies so we could put them in any setting.

These are sample cards I made for the gallery on the CD we are currently working on at J&P so watch this space for when it will be ready :o)

Cards for men #4

The theme is GREEN and I decided that as my previous 2 cards for this challenge were more suited to the little man in the family I would make this one a no nonsense man's man card with no frills! Image is SU coloured with Copics, sponged with SU ink and cut with Nesties. Punched sentiment is also from SU, brads and cardstock from stash :o)

I've been playing

I was just pottering this week and here's what I ended up with :o)
This is one using my own photographs of a beautiful Thai lady and a butterfly which I played around with in PSE. The DP is MME
For this one, I used a cotton pansy square which I bought from a quilting shop, framed it with a Nesties frame, added Sizzix leaves and an SU greeting. Quite a mixed batch :o)

This one is mainly SU and Nesties as you can see. Coloured with Copics and the DP is from stash, sorry, had it so long I can't remember where I got it.
I made these for no there reason than 'I wanted to' Not a challenge in sight :o)

Another wartime wedding

A couple of weeks ago I did a wartime wedding page for a change (see my PK #21) and it whetted my appetite so here is another one I did. The backgound DP is actually grey but it shows on the photograph as brown!
This one is my Uncle Doug (Dad's brother) and Aunty Margery. I punched the flowers from pearlised white paper and the leaves are Sizzix. Journalling was printed in Ms Word.
Creating these pages has made me want to get back to my heritage scrapbook which I started oh so long ago :o)

February Freebies...

Pop on over and help yourself and while you are there please let us know you've been by signing our guestbook :o)
There is no obligation to buy but why not take a look at our craft CDs too. All of our images are from our own photographs and this beautiful Bengali owl was taken by me on a visit to a bird of prey sanctuary some years ago. This is the sample card I made using our freebies plus a strip of MME paper, a scrap of ribbon and an SU sentiment stamp.
We would love to see what you make using these papers/toppers. Send us a pic of your project and we will put it in our freebies gallery :o)

I did it again!

Good morning Bloggers :o)
I did say emphatically when I made that tri shutter card that I would never make another one! Well, after 4 days I just had to have a go to see if I could do one all by myself and here it is. With a prompt from a DC member, I made it using my own photographs which I took at Twycross Zoo in November, the main character being Ganesh Vijay, the newsest addition to their elephant family. He was 3 months old then and I hope to go back soon and take some more pics of him :o) The stamped images are from the SU Organic Grace set, and there is a small amount of HOTP DP there too :o)

Cards for Men #3

We had to follow a sketch this week.
This is my first ever Popcorn the Bear card and I must say I am quite taken with the little fellow. I have coloured him with Copics of course, and I had to use my Nesties, can't get enough of them :o) The DPs are from J & P Pictures CD Pictures for the Men, sentiment and little fishes are from the same stamp set as Popcorn. Oh I mustn't forget that I used the Threading water edge punch from Fiskars :o)

The rest from yesterday

Oh my! 3 posts in one morning. It's like waiting for a bus, nothing for a while then they all arrive at the same time :o)
For these first 2 I used stamps from my new stamp set which I bought fron on of the ladies at the SU party, she had bought them twice! So I am not the only one to have 'senior moments' then :o)

These two I made using toppers I had made some weeks ago and never got around to using them. The first is a stamp from the SU set Beauty in Bloom

For this one I chalked over a peeloff and then peeled it off :o)
All of the DPs are from MME.

My SU cards from yesterday's party

Here are the SU cards I made yesterday with the help of our SU demonstrator Tracey. Although I love the tri shutter card, it is my first and probably my last of this type, not too sure I fancy trying it on my own, I'm a coward LOL.
I just adore the colour combo on this one.

This next one is small and simple but I think very pretty
All materials are from the SU range.

What a fab day.....

..... I spent yesterday with fab friends :o)
We had one of our crafting get togethers at our friend Pauline's. She and her hubby Rob were wonderful hosts with Rob keeping us supplied with tea all day and Pauline keeping us fed with some of her excellent home made dishes, thank you both so much :o)
The day also included an SU party run by our friend Tracey, and we had some great retail therapy, can't wait for my goodies to arrive now :o)
Once it gets proper light I will take pics of my efforts and get them on here.
In the meantime, have a great day everyone :o)
