OMG I won................

.............. My bauble won over on the Winter Wonderland decoration challenge, what a great start to Sunday morning. It helps to make up a bit for the broken indicator lens (earlier post)  :o)
Jackie xx

No images yet today...

...but I am not a happy bunny! I went out to go to work yesterday afternoon and the compacted snow was like glass. I slid into the gatepost and crack went my indicator lens so that's going to cost me around £120 as it's a sealed unit :o(  Still, it could have been worse (I think)!
Oh well, no good crying over spilt milk, as they say. I am going upstiars and shutting myself in the craftroom to get some more cards made. Hopefully I won't be disturbed.
Stay warm and safe everyone :o)

More danglies for my tree

Good morning all, has the snow reached you yet? It's reached Derby, it was there when I woke up this morning brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Not had chance for cardmaking this week, been too busy making tree danglies :o)

The baubles all cut with new Sizzix die and the tags cut with Cricut.
I've just discovered that having mad 140 Christmas cards so far, I've neen selling them and now have a shortfall of about 25 for my own use so I have to pull out all the stops and get some more made quickly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Winter Wonderland - decoration

Good morning all, is the frost as thick where you are as it is here brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr?
This is my offering for the Winter Wonderland - decoration challenge

Front

Back

It's really very simple. All bits cut with my new Sizzix bauble die from gold mirri and green holographic card, then stuck together and the alternating colours popped with foam pads. I found some gold cord in my stash and split it because it was too thick. Methinks I will make some more of these for my tree :o)

Crafting day part 2

Oh wow, what a day it was. There was just one reason why it couldn't be perfect and that was because Viv could not make it due to her hubby being ill, I do hope he is much better now. We missed you so much Viv, it's just not the same without you!
Other than Viv's absence the day was fantastic and we did manage a little bet of retail therapy although spending was kept down a bit because of Christmas being nearly upon us. I restrained my self very well and only bought 3 items, which I will show you tomorrow (work beckons today!) along with the 2 cards I managed to make.
I think we must all of us have put on at least half a stone in weight. I don't think we ever really stopped eating. Linda bought us some Spanish confections and Pauline made a wonderful carrot cake, all of which were added to the bacon butties and the meat and potato pie. Definitely no good for calorie counters :o)

Crafting day

Good morning everyone, today is the day that I have been waiting for. It's my turn to play hostess this time for a crafting get together. We even have a friend popping in from Spain so I am looking forward to seeing you Linda, and then there will be Viv, Pam, Pauline, Diane, Brenda and Sandra so what a day we are going to have. What a shame that Issy can't be with us today, you'll be missed Issy.
We might even get a bit of retail therapy in too. My little house will be bursting at the seams but what the heck. I hope you all enjoy your Sunday as much as I am going to :o)

Another blog award.....

..... this time form the lovely Carol If you have seen her blog do go and pay her a visit, she makes some beautiful projects :o)

Thank you so much Carol, I really appreciate you thinking of me :o
Now for the hard part! I have to think of 3 things about me that I haven't already used so here goes!
1     I used to be 5' 1 1/2" tall (or short) but I seem to have lost 1/2" somewhere over the years!
2     When I was 15 to 17 years old (way back in the dim and distant past) I worked in a fruiterer and florist shop and made wedding bouquets etc.
3     I am a qualified NVQ 2 Assessor in performing manufacturing operations

Now for the even harder part. I have to pass this award on to 5 bloggers and this is so difficult. How do you choos 5 out of so many? I have tried to pick peeps who I haven't passed awards on to before so here goes (gulp) in no particular order;

If you pop on over to their fab blogs you will see why they deserve this lovely award :o)

Flutter By Wednesday # 130 - aperture card

I made this while my car was being serviced this morning and wow was it quick (the car service). I dropped it off at the garage at 9am and he sent his Mum to fetch me to pick it up at 10.50am, must be some sort of a record!
Of course that has nothing to do with why I am posting so I will get on with it :o)
This is my entry for Flutter By Wednesday 130 which asks for an aperture card.

Materials/equipment used;
Plain white card cut and folded to 6x6
Striped glittercard discovered in stash
Green glittercard also found in stash
Tapestry stamps unloved and unused for years
Martha Stewart butterfly punches
Nellie Snellen dies
My brand new EK Success swirly edge punch
It was good to use so much from stash that I have had for a long time and forgot about :o)

A apology, an award and new stash

Good afternoon Bloggers. First the apology to the lovely Sally who gave me this fantastic award 2 months ago, and I was so busy at the time I totally forgot to pick it up and upload it. I have given myself a slapped wrist Sally and thank you so much for allowing me to come by and pick it up so long after the event!

I have to write 7 things about myself to accept it and I am supposed to give it to 7 bloggers too, but I am finding it so difficult to choose out of the many lovely blogging friends I have made, so I am going to be cowardly and say that if you are a follower of mine then take the award if you wish to :o)
Now for 7 things about me, not sure you will find them very interesting though :o)

1)     I love all things archaelogical and Time Team is my fave TV programme
2)     I have researched my mother's family history on the male line right back to a
        wedding in 1625
3)     I am off work for a whole week starting today YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
4)     I love designing papers and toppers from my own photographs
5)     I have more than 20,000 of my own photographs on my external hard drive
6)     I sold one of my cards to a crafter, how cool is that?
7)     I love picking up my cameras and binoculars and getting in the car and driving just
        anywhere on a whim :o)

And now onto retail therapy :o)
I went to PDA at Langley Mill this morning for their sale and these are the goodies I bought. I spent a king's ransome but there was 15% off everything so I am well chuffed. I'm going upstairs in a few minutes for a play  :o)

Second post of the day, I love Promarkers 40 - Icy colours

OMG I managed a second post of the day twice in one week!
It doesn't happen very often LOL.
This is my first ever entry for I Love Promarkers because I've only just aquired some of them. They are my ongoing Christmas present to me! The brief is for Icy colours.
To me, icy colours mean blues, greys and sparkle.
I've used Emma Bear from Karen's Doodles, such a sweet image for the season.
I am still limited in my colours for the moment but I used cool grey 1,2 and 4 plus pastel blue, powder blue, china blue and a touch of berry red/sandstone for the little robin. I added a smidgin of glamour dust to add a bit of sparkle and as the day was so dark I had to used flash which shows it up fairly well. Base card is hammered white, cut and folded to 7x5 and covered with J&P paper on which I have stamped See D's snowflakes with silver Brilliance. Added a scrap of ribbon from stash and the cornes are punched with Dovecraft corner punch. Phew! the card was much easier to make than describe :o)

Karen's Doodles - black and white Christmas

Good morning all, if you can call it that. It's black as night, raining stair rods again and blowing a gale sometimes gusting up to 80 mph! Oh well at least I don't have to go to work today but I am going to George's Traditional in Long Eaton for my usual Thursday lunch :o)
On to my entry for Karen's Doodles black & white Christmas

I have used Karen's Emma Bear coloured with grey promarkers then cut with and mounted onto Nellie Snellen die cuts. Paper is from J&P Pictures, punched with Martha Stewart PATP, McGill punched snowflake, base card is black Bazzill, greeting inked with Brilliance lightning black. Added glamour dust but unfortunately it doesn't show well here :o)

SCSC 108 red and gold

Good morning crafters, the day dawns rather better than the last 2, at least
it's not raining!
You may need your sunglasses for this one as it's all shiny stuff :o)
It's my entry for SCSC 108 red and gold

I was firkling in my stash, as you do, and came across this textured red shiny card which is very similar to the gold which I use a lot.
The red cardinal is an FSS digi image coloured with a mixture of promarkers and copics, then cut out with and matted onto Nellie Snellen die cuts. Stamped greeting is cut out with and matted onto nesties. Borders punched with Martha Stewart grass edge punch. You may have noticed I love this MS punch :o)

Lovely award.....

.....from 2 different bloggers, how cool is that :o) It was awarded to me by the lovely Janette and the equally lovely Dianne
Thank you so much ladies, I am indeed honoured to be the recipient of such a
prestigious award :o)
The only problem is that to accept it I have to say 3 things that make me different (how different am I to be?) and pass it on to 5 other bloggers (how difficult is that, having to choose just 5 from all the beautiful bloggers out there?)
Oh well, here goes, I will have try!
1.  I am nearly 70 and still go out to work 4 days a week
2.  I play percussion in an old fogey's folk band
3.  I design topper and papers from my own photographs
I'm not sure that these things make me different but I don't know of anyone in my age group that does anything similar :o)

And now to the most difficult part choosing 5 from dozens;
Doreen, who is a lovely blog friend and leaves lots of fab comments on my blog
Nic, also a lovely blog friend who never fails to visit my blog whenever I post
Lisa, another lovely blog friend who always leaves many fab comments on my blog
Sorry if I am getting boring folks :o)
Donna, who is a fairly new blogger who will go far, and she visits my blog regularly leaving fab comments
Deborah, once again a fairly new blogger who leaves me more lovely comments.
All of these bloggers, and many more too, give me wonderful inspiration and support

Paper Players 23

Good morning all, I hope you didn't get the incessant heavy rain and gales that we had yesterday! I woke up to the same this morning but it's stopped for now (fingers crossed it stays that way).

Anyhow, I digress!
This is my entry for The Paper Players challenge which has to have a snowman.
Well I have  snow couple instead, matted with brads onto gingham glittercard which was cut with a Nestie. Stamped image is from PB and coloured with promarkers and Sakura stardust pens. Base card is dark blue Bazzill, sentiment is heat embossed with pewter powder and I added a scrap of silver cord I found in my stash :o)

OLW 27

Good morning everyone, I haven't opened the curtains yet as it's pouring down with rain and I don't want to see it!
This is my entry for OLW 17 Christmas kindness.
I dug out my Caran D'Ache watercolour pencils for this one as I didn't want copics/promarkers showing inside the card.
Base card is plain white cut and folded by me.
Main image is from Elzybells, pine cone from SU and can't remember where the sentiment came from :o)

Been playin' and not a Christmas card in sight

Good morning Bloggers :o)
I took inspiration for this from the lovely Sarita  at Little Princess Cards, and from the equally lovely Susan over at Simplicity. If you love CAS cards and you haven't been to see them then you are in for a real treat, they are both masters of the art of simplicity and class :o)
Using Rhonna Farrar's Elegant Florishes clear stamps I laid them on an acrylic block to form a band them inked up with Brilliance lightning black, added SU sentiment and flutterby cut from glittercard with Marianne's Creatables die. That's it folks, it don't come much simpler :o)

Allsorts week 76 + Saturday Challenge 107

Good morning Bloggers, I finally made a challenge card :o)
This is for;
Allsorts week 76 Gold, cream and a hint of red
SEC Saturday challenge 107, anything that flies

I decided to keep it CAS as I am loving making this style of card at the moment :o)
Cream linen cardstock, robin stamp is from Clarity, coloured with copics and cut out with Nesties. Greetings stamp from a poinsettia set whose name escapes me, gold paper and ribbon from stash. I cut the card shape on the Cricut at 5 1/2 inch then used it as a template for the card :o)
