Brilliant day at Calke Abbey

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world. What a dramatic change in the weather from Tuesday, when I used my new National Trust membership for the first time. I had a wonderful day out at Calke Abbey, which is just 10 miles from home. I had a wander round - had to be slow stroll due to not being able to walk well - and took lots of photographs - 262 in all - in the church, the stunning walled garden, the magnificent kitchen garden, then had a wander through the house before having an excellent lunch in the restaurant. Methinks another visit in the Spring may be on the cards :o)
These are just a few of the photographs I took, I warn you, it is picture heavy :o)

Just as I was about to get in the card to come home, I spotted the deer so had to take a few more pics! I hope that you have enjoyed this little tour of Calke Abbey in pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them :o)

Stunning...if I every get to the UK...will you take me there? The pictures and the capturing of the dragonfly is awesome. Wow wow wow.....breath taking. Thank you for taking me with you on the stroll through the garden with your pictures. I would love to seen what the restaurant looked like....probably quite different from here in the US

Hi Jackie, wonderful photos, the ones of the deer are particularly good to see, must have been quite something to spot them and take their pictures.

It's gone quite cool here too, I am feeling very chilly!

I thought the title of your post said Cake Abbey (my kind of outing, lol). had to re-read it!
