Tiger, tiger burning bright...8x8 card

Good morning everyone, although it's pouring with rain here! I hope all is well in your world...hugs

I had a wonderful day with my friends on Sunday, and for the first time since Stephen's stroke, I was able to join them earlier so I got to go for retail therapy with them. I was in heaven :o)

For those of you who remember my son having a stroke 18 months ago, I can tell you that although his right arm is still paralysed and he still can't speak very much, he is able to look after himself fairly well now, so I don't have to keep running around for him, and boy am I so thankful as it was wearing me out!

On to my card for today, which I made for a friend's hubby and his great love is tigers :o)

Unfortunately, although I do have tiger photographs of my own, none of them are full face on, so I Googled this one.
I opened it in PSP7 to feather the image, and printed it, along with the sentiment, onto white linencard, then cut both with my new Spellbinders square pierced dies and matted them onto black card from my scrap box.
I then opened my feathered image in PSP11 to create the paper for the background and inside.
Base card is white papermania 8x8.
I really love this card and don't want to give it away...sob  :o)

It doesn't seem like eighteen months, how the time flies Jackie. But so pleased how he progressed.

Another lovely card, pretty muted colours.

Wow...the card grabbed me the moment I opened your link!!! Fab card for your friend's husband. I wouldn't expect you to get such a close up, front face pic of a tiger. Well, maybe, I know you love a challenge. Yes, I was wondering about your son. Great how he has worked so hard to get where he is so he can be more independent and help you have some me time and not have to worry about him every minute. Our children will always be our children no matter how old. My boys don't see it that way yet.

Your friends hubby will love this Jackie... tho I'm SO glad you didn't get in front of a tiger to get the photo!!

Glad you had a lovely day on Sunday - I hope Viv remembered to give you a hug from me. And I'm so glad to hear your son is improving so much. I see Andrew Marr on TV on Sunday mornings - he has no use of his left arm at all... I wonder if it will ever come back for him? His speech doesn't seem to be affected though... but strokes happen to different parts of the brain don't they... I remember my Mum having to do exercises squeezing a rubber ball to try to improve her arm strength.

Big hugs
