Variations on a theme and other stuff

Firstly, I must apologise for the fuzzy pics, the light was very bad and
I don't like to use flash!
I went for a medical MOT yesterday, mistake or not? Grab yourself a cuppa and relax a while!
I had the blood tests previously and was called into the Doc's for the results which I have spoken about before (underactive thyroid diagnosed)
Yesterday I came out of there feeling a tad deflated. My cholesterol is high, my blood pressure is a tad too erratic and I have a 43% chance of heart problems within the next ten years. The good news is that my thyroid medication is working although I need a stronger dose as it's could be working betterbetter. The extra good news (?) is that if I start taking medication for the cholesterol, which is probably hereditary, and the BP then my chance of heart problems later falls to 20%. Well that's a no brainer so having got to nearly 70 without popping pills (I was quite proud of this) I will soon be taking
3 different ones a day!

Anyways up, I digress. The above card was commissioned by our band for one of our members who sadly passed away peacefully at the weekend. Like many other cardmakers, I find sympathy cards so hard to make so I decided to make half a dozen for the box.

Both stamps are Hero Arts, stamped in black or London fog Memento, and the sentiments are from SU.
Nelli Snellen and nestie dies were used for the layering.
Did I hear someone snoring there? :o)

Oh hun, your cards are beautiful, and perfect for such a sad event. You are right, we all find these hard to make, but you have found the perfect balance. Sorry to hear the news wasn't quite as expected from the doc, but glad they are looking after you. Fret not about blood pressure tablets hun, I've been on them for years to control mine and the bonus is that they stopped my migraines, hurrah! Hugs, Sxx

Hi Jackie, your sympathy cards are lovely, very fitting for the occasion. I love the stamps you've used. Sorry that you are going through the mill healthwise but at least there is medication to control your problems. My DH has been taking medication for high blood pressure for nigh on 30 years and at 72 is still fighting fit. Take care. Elizabeth x

Sorry you have to use a sympathy card, Jackie. But your style with these cards really hits the right note for me, simple yet tasteful. Don't feel too glum about the docs visit, they state things in the worst possible terms, and at least something is possible to help. CoB
