Made in the old fashioned way

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all well. Here's a few hugs if you want or need them {{{{{hugs}}}}}

I have had several enquiries about how Stephen is getting on, thank you for asking, it's lovely to know that people care :o)
Stephen is now walking without his stick and goes out every day for a couple of hours, sometimes longer. I would love to know where he goes but he can't tell me as he still cannot talk very well. He has lots of words now but is still not able to put them together to make sentences. His arm is still paralysed but he does now get tiny flutterings in his hand and he can move one finger just a tiny little bit. This is such a great step for him :o)

Meantime, what does my title mean? Well, whilst I was looking for something else, I found my box of brass stencils and light box so I decided to have a play with them and here is the result :o)

My own photograph of course, taken at a farm in Spondon in September 2007.
I used brass stencil, ball tool and light box for the embossing. It doesn't show up too well on here but it looks fine IRL.
All white card used is linen from Papermill Direct and brown card is from PDA cardcraft.
Martha Stewart edge punch used on brown mat.
Sentiment is from a Stamps and Smiles set.
Did you know that in South America, Llamas are trained so that they can be taken into hospitals to visit patients? They are said to be very therapeutic :o)

Amaryllis

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all warm and well, here's a few hugs for those who need or want them {{{{{hugs}}}}}

I have to take Stephen to Long Eaton for his speech therapy this morning.

My card for today is very blingy compared to what I usually make. I usually like lots of white space, but I am happy with this one for a change :o)
My very good friend Pauline and her hubby Rob bought me this beautiful Amaryllis for Christmas, and it had two stems, one with two flower heads on it and this one with 4 heads, and what beauties they were too.

All card used is white linen from Papermill Direct,  white pearlised from ? and red Papermania textured.
I put the pearlised card through the Big Shot with the Couture Collection (I think) Tied Together embossing folder.
Own photograph of course, printed onto linen card.
Cheery Lynn foliage die used.
I coloured the white pearls with Copic marker pen.
Not really anything else I can say about it :o)

Just for fun

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well with you and yours,  {{{{{hugs}}}}}
My card for today is one made purely for fun and it was inspired by EvieMae, a lovely Docrafts friend. I saw one in her gallery that she had made and decided I would like to have a go LOL. Mine is almost a copy but not quite in that hers was made with a scalloped card.
I enjoyed it so much that I have cut out kits for my friends to make next time it's my turn to host our Friday evening get together :o)

All materials used are from stash, there was nothing new used in the creation of this card. I think all the card was from PDA.
I cut a heart shaped card on my Cricut.
All the round bits were punched and the ovals were cut with Spellbinders.
I added Glossy Accents to the eyes and nose, did a bit of scribble with a copic pen on the ears and jowls and Bob's yer Uncle, job done.
Is it a bear? Is it a dog? It is whatever you want it to be :o)

Aquilegia (columbine)

Good morning everyone, and it IS good because I am now on holiday from work for a whole week :o)
I hope all is well in your world, and here's a few hugs if if you need or want them {{{{{hugs}}}}}

For my card today, I have used a photograph that I took way back in May 2006. As I can't just go off for the day on a photo shoot like I used to before Stephen had his stroke, I am digging deep into my stock of approx. 20,000 photographs on one of my external hard drives and I am coming across lots that I had totally forgotten about!
This one was taken in the garden belonging to a friend's mother at Little Eaton and this is it's very first showing after all these years.

I wanted it to be CAS and I do love white space on cards, so I didn't add any leaves this time.
Photograph feathered in PSP then printed onto the card, then cut with Xcut dies.
Corners cut with old Provocraft die. I am loving that I have found so many things I had forgotten about during my craftroom move.
All white card used is Papermill Direct Linen and the pink is Papermania textured.
I am quite please with how it turned out and I am still raiding my photograph stock for more forgotten pics, both flowers and animals/things with wings :o)

Resist stamping

Good afternoon everyone, I hope you are all well or getting there {{{{{hugs}}}}}
I am very late today, had to take Stephen for his speech therapy this morning, and tomorrow morning it's his physio session.

Here is my card for today, which has a bit of resist stamping on it although it doesn't show up very well on the photograph!

I stamped my favourite Stampendous agapanthus cluster stamp with versamark then heat embossed it with detail white (also Stampendous) heat embossing powder, then inked with Memento inkpad. All this onto white linen card from Papermill Direct which I then layered onto Papermania blue card, which in turn was layered onto pearlised white card embossed with Ebosser Honeycomb A4 folder. Another layer of blue onto the hammered white base card, and a smidgin of ribbon plus a Marianne diecut completes it. Mmmmmmmmm, that's a lot of layers for me!  :o)

Another of my flower cards

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world {{{{{hugs}}}}}
I am loving all this Springlike weather we are getting at the moment, long may it continue!

I took this photograph in 2007 and believe it or not this is the first time I have used it! So, without more ado, here it is :o)

Nothing new was used in the making of this card!
Own photograph of the cosmos flower of course, feathered in Paint Shop Pro, then printed onto Linen card from Papermill Direct, in fact all the white card is the same. The pink is Papermania textured card, as is the green.
Cut with Spellbinders Nesties, then mounted onto a circle of  McGill punched leaves.
I found the Provocraft metal corner die lurking in the bottom of a drawer when looking for something else, I have had it aeons :o)

Flutterby tree + a problem solved

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all well or getting there, {{{{{hugs}}}}} for those who want or need them.
Problem solved! Yes, the flower is a gardenia (see previous post). I have had several peeps tell me so and the final one was from a Master Gardener so gardenia it is. Thank you to everyone who took interest :o)
And now for my flutterby tree. Some time ago I saw a beautiful card with a button tree on it. I think it may have been created by Chrissy of Chrissys4cards, sadly no longer blogging so I can't check that out. BUT, if you know different then please let me know so I may give credit where it is due.
Well I don't have buttons, so I decided to have a go with flutterbies. I must say that I am pleased with the result, so I cut out kits (different sparkly colours) for my friends to make when they came around for a craft evening on Friday and they loved it!
So, without more ado, here it is.

I was mortified when I blobbed red ink onto the finished card, but I have rectified that by sitting a "fallen" flutterby on it, and as I don't like even numbers I had to put another one on as well!
Although it looks white on here, the card is ivory linen from Paper Mill Direct, plus the red glitter card from The Range. Flutterbies punched with Martha Stewart, Tree cut with Memory Box and and attached to Spellbinders Nesties. Stamped flutterby from Lyndsay Mason set and sentiment from Stamps and Smiles. Nothing new was used in making this card :o)

Is it a Gardenia? Is it a Camellia? Is it a Magnolia?

Good morning everyone, oh how lovely it is to have several days on the trot of mild and sunny weather, it's been glorious for a few days now. I hope you are all well {{{{{hugs}}}}}.

The questions in the title?
I posted this card on Docrafts and asked if anyone knew what this flower is, and the three options are what we all came up with are the ones in the title! I took the photograph 7 years ago at Elvaston Castle Country Park (more or less my local park} and never did know what it was! The flower is about 6" across.

White card is linen card from Paper Mill Direct. Green card is Papermania textured card. Dies used are Spellbinders and Memory Box. Sentiment is from an old set by Stamps and Smiles.

        This is the original photograph showing the leaves to hopefully aid identification :o)

One for the box

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well as it can be in your world, here's some  {{{{{hugs}}}}} if you need or want them.

I am off to Long Eaton this morning to take Stephen for his speech therapy.

Today I am sharing a baby card with you, it's not often that I make them so it was a change for me!

As it will be going into my charity box, I decided to make it an either/or card, so neutral colours are the order of the day! I won the digi image just for being a follower of the lovely Diane, but I can't do a link as I no longer seem to be able to get onto her blog :o(
He/she is couloured with copics, and I had great difficulty getting it to look like fur!!!
Image is raised on foam pads and attached to a Nestie diecut, baby bits were cut with my Cricut.
Pearlised backing was embossed with Embossalicious A4 folder called, appropriately enough, Patchwork Quilt I think.You are looking at the debossed side because foolishly I embossed the wrong side LOL. This is layered onto brown card and then onto card base which is white leatherlook from the Paper Mill Shop :o)

A5 Easter card with new embossing folder

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world {{{{{hugs}}}}}

My card today is a bit larger than my norm, it's A5 and I don't do this size very often. I had made my topper too big for 7x5 card! How stupid is that? No, I don't expect and answer to that LOL.

I do love this new Ebosser embossing folder, it's called Honeycomb.
Cards used are White linen from Paper Mill Direct, yellow hammered and yellow linen from the Paper Mill Shop before they all closed, and white pearlised card from ?
Dies used are Spellbinders Nesties and cross. Own photograph of course. Not much else can be said about it!  :o)

Trying again

Good morning fellow crafters, I hope all is well in your world, and here's some hugs if you need them {{{{{hugs}}}}}
I posted this one yesterday morning and it disappeared, so let's hope it posts okay this time! It's not even as if it's a masterpiece, so if it disappears this time I will know it is trying to tell me something LOL.
At the second time of asking, here it is. I decided to try inking onto very textured card to see what happened and this is the result. Could be better!

Papermania textured card is what I used for the inking, not really too successful but it's halfway there LOL.
I layered the image onto black PM textured card and then onto the base card which is white leatherlook card from Paper Mill Shop before they all closed down, yes I have had it that long! Various stamps used for the scene and finished off with a Memory Box tree diecut. The jury is still out on whether I like it or not :o)

Foxglove card and retail therapy. Picture heavy

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all well or getting there {{{{{hugs}}}}} for those who need or want them.
What a wonderful birthday I had on Sunday with my crafting friends, with loads of chinwagging and laughter, fabulous retail therapy and lovely dinner at Cosmo in Derby to finish off with, a perfect day :o)
I have been  feathering few more of my photographs in PSP and this foxglove is the first I have used on a card.

If my memory serves me right, I took this photograph at Elvaston Castle Country Park a couple of summers ago.
Paper Mill Direct linen card folded and cut to 5x7.
Photograph printed onto same card then layered onto green card before attaching to base card. Same green card used for the Memory Box die cut.
That's all there is to it :o)

And now for my retail therapy, my first since last June!

The copics I bought from a friend for half the normal price, the rest I bought from our trip to Byrkley Park at Rangemore, Staffordshire :o)

It's that Teddy again

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all well or getting there {{{{{hugs}}}}} for those who need or want them.
I didn't get to see the northern light Sob! We have too much light pollution here and there was a bit of cloud cover too :o(
I am currently on holiday from work so hopefully I will get lots of playtime in. Tomorrow my crafting friends will be here with me to celebrate my birthday in grand style.
We will start off the day with the obligatory bacon butties, then get some crafting in, with lots of chinwagging and laughing, until lunch after which we will be off to Byrkley Park to spend, spend, spend in the craft shop. I haven't been craft shopping for many months so I mean to make up for it LOL. Then after another crafty session we will be off to Cosmos' in Derby for dinner, what more could any crafter want?

Now that I've found him I just had to use that Ted again and as I haven't made an easel card for several years I thought it time to try my hand again, so here it is.

Very simple really, I do like white space!
Elzybells image stamped onto Papermill Direct linen card, coloured with copics and a smidgin of Glamour Dust added to the snowy bits although you can't see them very well here.
Cut with Spellbinders nestie and layered onto a red mirri Grand nestie cut.
Sentiment is from an ancient SeeDs stamp set punched with SU, Ivy is Memory Box :o)
