Back to my photographs...

...which I have sadly neglected of late!

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world, here's a few hugs {{{{{hugs}}}}} if you want or need them.

After cutting out some of my own mats, I had several of these squares left so what should I do, throw them in the recycle bin or use them? I had an idea to use two of them so I may have a go at playing  with more of them because I am quite pleased with this effect :o)

Anyhow, on to my card for today.

Basecard is 8x8 ready folded from a Papermania pack.
Striped glittercard layer is from my stash, found it in several colours at the bottom of my glittercard box. Had it so many years I have forgotten where from!
Own thistle photograph taken at Mercia Marine a few weeks ago. I have never seen such large thistles, they were about 10 foot tall and I am not exaggerating, the flowers were huge and perfectly formed. I feathered it in PSP7 then opened it in MS Word and added the sentiment, then printed onto my usual white linencard from The Range before cutting it with an Xcut large circle die.
I intertwined the squares and attached them to the circle before adding them to the card.
It's not very often I say it of my own work but I really like this one :o)

Christmas 33

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world...hugs

Sorry it's another Christmas card but it will soon be here. I've been making them all year round but still only halfway there! I promise that the next one I post won't be a Christmas card, not so sure after that though LOL.

Just a simple scene but several layers about 6 of them!
Basecard is my usual white linencard, folded and cut to fir into a 6x6 envelope.
I designed the starlayer in SCAL and cut with my very old Cricut, then backed with silver mirri card.  the smaller stars were added with silver Sakura pen
Wavy glittercard layers cut with Spellbinder dies.
Tall trees embossed with Tim Holtz/Sizzix embossing folder, then handcut.
sentiment stamped with Anita's stamp then cut with Die-namics die.
My own stitched squre mat made into frame.
I have seen similar scene cards in Docraft galleries so I have to say it is a mishmash inspired by several people :o)

Christmas 32

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all as well as you can be...hugs

It's Thursday once again, food shopping day! I just cannot believe how fast the weeks are flying by, it seems like yesterday that I did the food shopping last week. We would all be better off if we didn't have to eat LOL. But then, would we? I suppose if we didn't have to eat we wouldn't get paid as much!!!

For my card today,  I use another of those Woodware stamps that jumped into my basket recently, the only trouble was, I had no pearls big enough for the large bubbles so I had to go out and buy card candi.  Oooops! I went to The Range and bought a few packets of different colours, then a few day later I went to Byrkley Park and saw more packets with different colours in so I had to buy them, what have I started?

Anyhow, before you all nod off, here is my card.

My usual white linencard from The Range, folded and cut to just under 6x6.
Image stamped onto smooth white160gsm card from Staples then I lightly chalked.
I added a mixture of card candi and pearls, some of the said pearls I coloured with
Copic marker pens.
Layered onto green holographic card.
Corners rounded with Cropodile corner chomper.
Sentiment stamped with unknown stamp and Bob's yer Uncle, job done :o)

Christmas 31

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world...hugs

I haven't bought any stamps for about 5 years or more, and suddenly I have been confronted with ones that fell into my basket. I have bought several Woodware stamps in the last few weeks and this is one of them LOL. I am quite enjoying renewing my acquaintance with DL cards instead of my usual 6x6 and 7x5!

My usual white linencard folded and cut to DL size.
I stamped onto smooth white 160gsm card from Staples, then coloured with Copic markers.
Matted using red holographic card which I have hd in my stash forever!
Sentiment stamped with unkown stamp.
Corners rounded with my Cropodile corner chomper.
I think this is such a happy stamp, I hope it makes you smile  :o)

More of my teardrop trees

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all well, or getting there...hugs

I have been playing with my teardrop trees again and my card today features them.

Basecard is my usual white linencard from The Range, folded and cut to 7x5.
My own SCAL trees cut with my ancient Cricut from MME sparkly card which I have had in my stash for many years, raised with sticky foam pads.
Background lightly chalked.
Sentiment stamped with Stamps and Smiles.
Can't find anything else that needs saying for the very simple card :o)

Another of my own mats

Good morning Bloggers, I hope all is well in your world...hugs

The sun seems a tad weak at the moment but hopefully it will get better!

On my card for today, I have used another of my own creations, and I am going to have a go at cutting some others out this morning!  I'm afraid it's another blue one today LOL.

My usual nearly 6x6 from an A4 sheet of white linencard.
I have seen several cards recently which have been made using dies to cut corner features, so I decided to have a go in SCAL . You have seen my first one (scroll down if you haven't) which was a stitcheded square, and here is my hexagon corners one, cut from the same blue card with my trusty Cricut.
Matted onto silver mirri card, which I think goes rather well with blue.
Foliage cut with Memory box die.
TimHoltz/Sizzix Bigz diecut flower, sponged with blue gilding wax.
Flatback pearl coloured with Copic marker pen.
Space at the bottom for sentiment when/if needed.
I must say that  really enjoyed making this one, although I take great pleasure in making them all :o)

Variation on a theme

Good morning Bloggers, I hope all is well in your world...hugs for those who need or want them

Well, my week of work went so fast I couldn't believe it!!!
I was lucky with the weather considering what it has been like since, and I managed to get out and about with my cameras, had a pub lunch with my cousin, watch the Tour of Britain, and even got some retail therapy thrown in, but the best of all was Sunday when I went to see my daughter and her partner singing (they are both singer guitarists) in the Bandstand Busk at Mercia Marina.  I haven't been able to go to any of her gigs since I started working Saturday nights over 8 years ago, so it was a real bonus which I enjoyed very much :o)

After I made my previous card (scroll down) I decided to have a play with SCAL and came up with my own teardrop shaped tree so here is a card using it!

I also created the stiched square in SCAL, and cut it, and the trees on my ancient Cricut.
Basecard is my usual white linencard from The Range, folded and cut to nearly 6x6.
Blue card is Papermania textured card.
Silver mirri mat.
MME card for the trees.
Sentiment stamped with unknown stamp onto white pearlised scrap then cut with Die-namics stiched circle die.
All card used is from my stash.
White stickyback pearls coloured with Copic marker pen.
I created several different mats along with the stitched square and they will all be popping up over the next few weeks :o)

New stamp and embossing folder

Good morning everyone,  wet and fairly windy here after a very dry and warm week. I hope all is well in your world...hugs

My week off work is coming to an end already, it's absolutely flown by!!! Still, I managed to get out with my camera a couple of days, had a lovely pub lunch with my cousin, and a lovely afternoon with a dear friend, as well as being able to watch the Tour of Britain each afternoon, and on top of that, I got to make some cards too. Here is one of them :o)

The basecard is my usual A4 white linencard folded and cut to just under 6x6.
Pearlised panel embossed with my new Embossalicious folder, then sponged with gilding wax.
I stamped my new Woodware image onto white 160gsm card, then coloured with Copic and Sakura pens before handcutting them.  I cut the sticklike trunks off then attached the trees with sticky foam pads.
I cut three pieces of bog standard string and frays the ends for the roots, then coloured with Copic pen before glueing them on as tree trunks!
Sentiment is an un-named stamp, the cut with Die-namics stitched die.
After I hadmade this card a sat thinking that I could surely cut trees like that on my Cricut so I set too and designed some in SCAL, I will show you the resulting card/s later :o)

Friday night workshop cards.....

.....this time friend Pauline was the hostess, with her wonderful hubby Rob keeping us supplied in tea and cakes!

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all as well as you can be...hugs

Yesterday I went to Byrkley Park and spent a lot few pennies in the craft shop. I also managed to make a couple of cards which I will show later. I cannot believe my week off is already half gone BooHoo!  Never mind, I have another one to come in November LOL

Anyhow, here are my cards from our workshop

Sorry I can't give detail because I don't have them, they were both kitted ready for us to start!
I believe that most of the materials were SU with some Spellbinder's dies thrown in
We did the faux stitching with a fine liner and I managed to make a mess of handcutting the fishtails
but you can get the feel for what it should look like LOL

Anniversay card fro friends plus Autumn is here

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world. Sending hugs to all who need or want them!

This post is picture heavy so you need to settle down with a cuppa and relax :o)

I had a lovely stroll at Attenborough Nature Reserve yesterday morning and the sign of Autumn were all around, it is my favourite time of the year!

Anyhow, I digress, her is my card for the day and a few photographs that I took yesterday.

Own photograph taken earlier this year at Straw's Ponds, Ilkeston, printed onto my usual white linencard then cut with Xcut large circle.
Basecard cut from MME card with Spellbinders Grand Nestie.
Swans cut with Marianne dies.
Computer generated sentiment cut with SU punches.
Dragonflies cut with Xcut punch.
Leaves cut with Memory Box die.

And now a few photographs showing the signs of Autumn.

And a few others taken on my stroll.

 Peek-a-boo

Tern or gull, I am not sure!

And finally, this shows what the lakes are, they are all gravel pits and extraction is still taking place. It just shows that a lot of beauty can come from gravel extraction, we just have to be patient as it takes years to show :o)

Friday night workshop card.....

.....this time by me!

Good morning everyone, another dull start to the day.
I hope all is well in your world, wherever you are ...hugs

It was my turn to host our Friday night workshop a couple of weeks ago. I did create 2 cards but you have already seen one of them earlier, it was the one with the two little blackbirds on, so  no need to upload it again!

This one is based on a card I made a few weeks ago but we each used a different stamp from an SU set.

Card base is a 7x7 ready folded from Papermania.
Image stamped onto 160gsm smooth white card from Staples, then coloured with Copics and the sky is chalked.
Offcut frame, the diecut panel was for another card a while ago, lifted with sticky foam pads.
Own clouds designed in SCAL and cut with my old Cricut.
Spellbinders frame and clouds cut from Papermania textured card.
Penny Black dragonflies stamped with Brilliance pearlescent ink.
Memory Box diecut foliage.
Computer generated sentiment punched with SU :o)

One stamp, two cards

Good morning fellow Bloggers, I hope all is well with you and your families...hugs

It's dull and overcast here in the Derby area, but still quite warm and the evenings seem to be very sticky this week!

I was looking for something in my craftroom, as you do, and came across this 2006 Penny Black stamp which hasn't seen ink for quite a while so I thought it was time to resurrect it. I love it because it is such a happy image :o)

It was very strong sunlight when I took the pic of the second one (last week, not seen the sun since!) so it looks a bit bleached!
Both basecards are my usual white linencard from The Range, folded and cut to just undar 6x6 and 7x5 respectively.
I stamped the image with Memento ink onto 160gsm smooth white card from Staples, coloured with Copics then cut with Spellbinders dies (first card) and Die-namics dies (second card)
Blue card is a pearlised bit from the scrap box. Grey card is Papermania textured card
Both sentiments are cling stamps with no name.
I added a dash of Glamour Dust to the white images but it doesn't show up here!
Tiny stars are wast from a border die.
Both cards intentionally CAS :o)

Snowman's playmate

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well in your world...hugs

Looks like another grey day here, 'twas very wet and dark yesterday but I was at work so it didn't bother me! It did make it very busy at work though cuz folks were shopping instead of going out anywhere, but that make my shift go very quickly LOL.

My card for today features Rudolph, my snowman's tall friend! I handcut him but I won't be doing that again anytime soon, it took forever!!!

Another of those DL basecards I "found".
Woodware image stamped onto white 160gsm smooth card and coloured with Copics, although the bright sun (well it was when I took the photograph) has bleached the colour quite a bit!
As previously said, I handcut him but it was a very slow process so I probably won't do that again in a hurry!
He is raised with sticky foam pads.
Woodware sentiment stamped with Versamark then heat embossed with Stampendous Detail White powder.
I "lost" my white pen so couldn't do the faux stitching that I had intended, so I used narrow DS tape and Glamour Dust for the frame instead. Of course I found my white pen after I had finished the card LOL.
I think he and his mate the snowman make fabulous fun cards, especially for children :o)
