I finally made a card!!!!!

My Granddaughter Sian will be 18 in January and she is very difficult to make cards for!
She loves minimal and art deco long twiggy ladies. My friend Dizzy Di found this lady image for me, thank you Di, you are a star :o)
The BC is ivory linen and the 8 is from last year's Basic Grey Figgy Pudding range. The lady and the 8 are raised with silicone glue. I used a stencil for the dry embossing then chalked them. I printed the 8 in Word then cut it out by hand.

MTSC #52

This is my take on Mercy's sketch this week over at
BC is Linen from the PMS, covered with a Bazzill panel. Everything else is bits and pieces from stash with a stamped image I did at a friends house when we had a crafting get together. Coloured with Copics and Nestied. The flowers were white so I chalked them pink :o)

Simon Says - Merry Christmas

This is my entry for Simon Says Merry Christmas over at http://simonsaysstampschallenge.blogspot.com/2009/12/simon-says-merry-christmas.html
I heat embossed the Santa Collage then Nestied and layered it. I used SU stamp for the background to sit him on. Base card is linen from the PMS and the DP is from J&P Pictures. Sorry I have forgotten where the greeting stamp is from, may be PB?
Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year to you all :o)

Peachy Keen #18

What a difference it makes when I go upstairs to make something I want to make instead of all those Christmas cards I (along with all of you) had to make :o)
I found this Magenta anemone stamp in the bottom of a box, unused for so long so I decided to give it an airing. Of course out came the Copics to colour it. I edged the petals with gold Glamour Dust and the flower centres are highlighted with Sakura Stardust pen.
The BC is from PMS many moons ago and never used, sentiment is from the SU Bloom set and the pearls and ribbon are from stash. Strange how the pearls look different sizes on different colours but they are all the same. Oh and I mustn't forget to mention my beloved Nesties :o)

I blew it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't even get one card made today let alone several. All of a sudden it is Sunday evening, where did the day go? I did manage to stamp and colour the image for one card so hopefully I'll get that one finished tomorrow before work.
I did manage to get the rest of my cards posted and do some hand deliveries, so all is not lost :o)
Oh well, tommorow is another day!
Jackie xx

Finally, the Christmas cards are finished.....

.....at least I hope they are. All the frantic activity of the last few weeks has finally come to an end (fingers crossed). I will hopefully be able to start catching up on your blogs again and who knows, I may even get to post some cards on my own blog :o)
I have a challenge card to make and several January birthdays so I had better go and get cracking :o)
See you later today I hope!

Another neutral baby card

This time it is for after the baby's birth. It is part of the 11 card commission and is off to San Francisco with the giraffe one :o)
Couldn't resist using my nesties again, and of course the colouring is done with copics. Main image is a Nellie Snellen stamp and the rest are from a See D's set :o)
Jackie xx

Peachy Keen #17

It had to contain polka dots, stripes, a border and a stamped image. I think it's fair to say that I have covered them all :o) I had to take it's piccy with flash due to very poor light conditions and it has bleached the colours a tad!
The polka dots and stripes papers are from my beloved MME stash, Woodware border punch, white and red card from stash and a scrap of ribbon also from stash. Base card is white linen look from PMS. The image is one I stamped at a friend's house some time ago. Oh I nearly forgot the panel was border cut then nestied :o)

Fantastic crafting day again

Here I go again, I can't seem to stop using this colour combo at the moment.
I had another brilliant day crafting with friends yesterday, forgive me if I repeat myself but I am getting on a bit so it's allowed LOL.
We also had a good dose of retail therapy and I bought another set of nesties (the plain ovals) and a few other bits of 'necessary' stash :o)
Have a fun day everyone

Cards for Men #1

Good morning everyone. What a fab day I had yesterday crafting with friends. The journey home was a bit hairy but I made it safely. It was hoizontal sleeting for all of the 50 mile trip!
Anyway this is one of the three cards I managed to make amid all the chinwagging, laughter and retail therapy :o) It is for the first Cards for Men challenge over at http://cardsformen.blogspot.com/
If you haven't seen their blog yet go and have a look and give them a big welcome to the challenge scene :o)
Oh how I cried again when I cut into my gorgeous MME glittercard for this, but I like the result well enough :o) A bit more MME for the larger mat and the smaller mat is unkown paper from stash. A bit of red card from PDA stamped with snowflakes for the main panel and I stamped the Santa Collage with Tim Holtz distress ink. stamped greeting, a scrap of ribbon and 'Bob's your Uncle' one man Christmas card. Oh and I must not forget my lovely Nesties :o)

I am loving this colour combo so please bear with me LOL.
Stamp is by Stampendous and I have done two layers and coloured with Copics. Sponged with Tim Holtz distress ink and I just love this particular Nestie set! Greeting printed in Word, Papyrus font. DP is from J&P Pictures Animals 1 CD, created by Pat from my photograph :o)

MTSC #49

This is my entry for MTSC #49 over at
I managed to sneak a few minutes to make it before I get ready for work later!
The base card is from PDA and is very similar to Craftcard. I used my new Elzybells Bethlehem stamp onto linen card then sponged with Tim Holtz distress ink. The star is cut from the same as the basecard on the Cricut then I added Glamour Dust to make it twinkle. Mat and panel are from an old HOTP Christmas stack I found in my stash. I found the Woodware edge punch at the bottom of a box, I had forgotten it's existence! Brown backing is from PMS and cuttlebugged using the snow folder :o)

My first easel card

Good morning Bloggers. I've been naughty, not had time to come on here much :o( Sorry I haven't been visiting your blogs much, been working extra days! That's the trouble with working in reatail at this time of year!
We all had a wonderful get together day on Sunday and I fed them enough to make sure they wouldn't be going home hungry, in fact we probably all put 5lbs on :o)
We all went to PDA at Langley mill for some retail therapy. We did leave a few bits for anyone following LOL.
I didn't make one card on the day but I did borrow some of my friend's stamps and did lots of stamping and heat embossing :o)
Anyway, I digress. Pauline showed us how to make easel cards and I made this one the next day. As you can see I used my lovely MME for the base card, own photograph and artwork for the topper and did a bit of punching for the snowflakes, the wooden Santa was from stash. It is one of a set of commissioned cards I am working on :o)

Another craft day.....

...coming up tomorrow Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
This time it's my turn to play hostess so they are all descending on me in the morning when we will no doubt have the obligatory bacon butties to start with then it's off to have a bit of retail therapy. Not telling you where in case you get there and buy up all the bargains first, I'll tell you after the event :o)
After that it's back here for a buffet and then wall to wall crafting, chinwagging and laughing until the evening when we will have stew and dumplings. Of course, by this time we will all be 5lbs fatter :o)
Happy crafting folks, Bye for now.

I saw a similar layout to this on another blog and I am sorry to say I can't remember whose it was! If you know, please tell me :o)
I haven't any of the Peachy Keen faces stamps so I used one of the PK Funny Flowers stamps. Sentiment is from SU and the other stamps are from a See Dees set. I sponged (my first time} the linen base card and each of the stamped image panels with Tim Holtz distress ink. Images are coloured with Copics.

A few made in the week

Good morning Bloggers, at least the gales have died down now and it's not raining at the moment although some more is promised!
These are three cards I have made through the week. I have lots of images I coloured previously so it's time to use them before Christmas is come and gone!

As you can see, they are different styles but in all cases I have used my nesties :o) Colouring, except for the snowflake, is done with Copics and the middle one is my own photograph. All are 7x5 cards which seems to be what I am making most of at the moment :o)

MTSC #47

This is my entry for MTSC #47 over at
I decided on a B&W theme because I love it for Christmas cards, come to think of it, I love it for ANY cards LOL. I used white linen card from stash for the BC, black matts also from stash, and white pearlised paper from Payper Box for the main image and backing. Cuttlebug folders used are Winter House (I think that's what it's called) and Snow. It's a first airing for this nestie set, Christmas tree from Woodware punch and that tiny scrap of DP is from J&P Pictures :o)

Craft evening last Friday

OMG, it's like waiting for a bus and then 3 arrive at the same time :o) This is my third post of the morning!
Yes, another craft evening, I do so love to get together with my crafting buddies, the next one will be at my house for the full day, with stew and dumplings for dinner :o) I have to do stew and dumplings because I am not the best cook in the world and it is an easy dish to make :o)

As you can see, I have been using my beloved MME papers again! At this rate it will soon all be gone :o(
There's a bit of allsorts here, Cuttlebug embossing, chalking, Nestability cutting.....
and Uncle Tom Cobley and all :o)
Jackie xx

Set of twelve commissioned

After seeing a card I had made using one of my winter photographs taken at Elvaston Castle, one of our band members asked me to make 12 of the same for her and here they are :o)
Bless her, she even paid me in advance :o)
My apologies for the poor quality of the photograph, there was no good light when I took the piccy!
Jackie xx

Good morning all...

...I had a play day yesterday and these are the results. I did make 5 but don't like the other one so it's probably destined for the bin :o)

I have used the Penny Black Fantasy tree on the first three, heat embossed onto different papers/card and the bottom one is of course that lovely Cuttlebug folder Winter House (I think that's what it's called).
Have a lovely day with lots of crafting :o)

Simon Says - Give thanks

I found some lovely linen bling cardstock in my stash which I used for the base card and for the embossed panel. I had forgotten I had it so it certainly pays to explore in the deep recesses of cupboards and drawers now and again :o)

Oh my, 3 posts in one morning!

Would you believe I have cut into yet another sheet of my gorgeous MME papers for this one. That's 3 sheets butchered in one day :o(
This one isn't for any challenge, I made it just because I wanted to! This charming little stamp was bought by Viv yesterday so I had to try it didn't I? :o)
I decided to colour it with my watercolour pencils as they have been sadly neglected since I got my Copics. I filched the BC from Viv's lovely Bazzill stash and the ribbon is from my own stash. More nesties used here, oh how very glad I am that invested in them, how did I ever manage without? :o)
Jackie xx

Peachy Keen challenge 15

Made this at Viv's yesterday too, I was on a roll :o)
Used both of my new Nesties on this one, and I had previously coloured the image in at home with my Copics.
Did I mention in my previous post that Viv's Hubby Alan made a wonderful, HUGE cottage pie for our dinner. Our very good friend Pam was able to pop in for a little while and we let her share :o) Thank you Alan, you were the other star of the day :o)

Before we started crafting we went off to the craft shop in Poynton Garden Centre for a little retail therapy. I promise you we did leave some stuff for other crafters!

Brilliant day

What a great day we all had on Sunday :o) There were 8 of us all packed into Pauline's kitchen crafting and laughing and talking nineteen to the dozen. Pauline & Hubby Rob ( he makes a wonderful tea boy) were great hosts and with excellent company, food & crafting what more could anyone want? Well, added to all that, we all piled into 2 cars and went of to Monk's Den in Ashby de la Zouch to buy crafting goodies WooHooooooooooooooooooo :o) I only managed to make 1 full card (the photograph one) and 2 part cards which I finished this morning.

I bought some MME papers and matching stamps and some Papermania poppy stamps and some bit's and pieces :o) The DP on the above card is from the MME pad and I stamped it with matching stamp then sprayed it with gold spray.
The DP on here is also from MME but I bought that a few weeks ago. Can you tell I love MME :o) All colouring done with Copics.

A few more with my nesties

All own photographs. This one I took in Southwold in June. For the backing I converted the same photograph to pencil drawing in PSP. I had used the biggest nestie in the set for this so I had to mat and then hand cut round it so don't look to closely :o)
The next 3 are all from our Pictures for the Man CD over at www.jandppictures.co.uk
I stamped the first one with SU geese and Magenta trees for the background on the 1st one.
I cut out some of the footbals from the DP and raised them, then used Glossy Accents on them.

For this one I stamped a few bits from the See Dees Gone Fishing set

Been playing with my new toys

Good morning all you lovely Bloggers.
My new nesties arrived on Tuesday but I didn't get the chance to play until Thursday, then I was at work on Friday but here they are finally :o)
On this one I have used one from my gorgeous MME cardstack and the mats are Bazzill Basics.

I just adore this snow trio which I stamp at my lovely friend Viv's house. Base card is Bazzill and the spotty card is from MME.

These two were made using some of our paper packs and topper packs over at www.jandppictures.co.uk/

For this one I used ny new PB stamp and it's the first airing for my Argyle embossing folder from Sizzix. I have used my lovely Copics for all the colouring :o)
